Roze heard his response and stayed quiet nonetheless, thinking about Scar and what he said to her- it wasn't much, but she knew that he was troubled. Even as they pulled in, he mood didn't seem to brighten much. She vaguely heard the man and nodded. "Yeah... thanks..." It wasn't the man's fault, but it was what she was thinking of. As they sat down and were handed menues, she looked to the man. "I don't mean to talk about work on a first date, but... what do you know about a student named Scar...? Ever since he's came to me... I've been a bit bothered by him... Not that he physically bugs me, but I can't seem to get him out of my mind..." With that, she glanced at the menu, choosing a normal tenderloin steak, with nothing on it or coming with it besides a milk, and done medium-rare. Now knowing what she wanted, she focused back on the male...

He was aware of her lacking in attention, so he didn't pry, wanting to give her time. He knew women well enough to let the silence stretch and kindly took the menu from their waitress. As she spoke, Jean looked up from his menu, slightly worried that Matthias had gone to her. He had hoped that the boy would have come to him if he had problems. Still from what he was hearing, the youth, more commonly known as Scar, hadn't really said much about his situation.
His mind tried to pick up why she'd be so bothered by the kid "How so? He's not playing mind games with you or something?" He pointed to a hamburger meal with fries and a cola as their order was taken, folding his hands on the table in front of him as he looked at the woman "He has a difficult home life." Sure he wasn't bound to secrecy like the counsellor was, but he was a man that enjoyed his own privacy and felt that if he was allowed it, so were others.

Roze nodded to the man. She watched the waitress go from taking their orders, and then turned back to the man as he spoke. She shook her head, "No, he isn't playing mind games with me- I think. It's just that he seems very troubled about something, and that's why he acts the way he does..." He hadn't come to see her, but she had been watching the boy, and began to wonder what was going on. "He doesn't seem like a bad kid, although he seems to get in trouble a lot..." Contradictory, she knew, but that was how she felt... When the man spoke again, she nodded. She knew that there was more, there always seemed to be, but she wouldn't pry. She respected the man's attention to the privacy of others, as she liked the same. She gazed into his eyes, and said, her voice sounding like she was forcing herself to be bright, "Well, let's get back to the meal. We really shouldn't be talking about something like this on a date... we can do that on our breaks at work- AKA, lunch time..." However, her rising quietness as she went on told the man she really didn't want to drop it, even though she felt that they should...

He smiled as she decided not to discuss things further and to just enjoy the date. However, as she went quiet, it was all Jean could do not to sigh. There's would always be people, regardless of the job, that just couldn't keep work and personal life separated. Though, he figured being a teacher, or in her case, a counsellor, a lot of grey areas came to play. After all, if he was to drive by one of his students lying on the street, drunk and out of their mind, he'd stop and take the home. It was duty and principle. Thankfully, he didn't find himself diving into the whole grey area stuff as much as Roze. If he did, he'd probably never sleep at night.
"The kid is pretty smart. He's got a good head and a good heart. He just does what he thinks is best. That's what gets him into trouble most the time." The waitress had come back, placing their drinks on the table, before giving a little smile and walking off. He took a sip of his soda, letting his words sink in. "My opinion." He paused, not for the dramatic effect, but because he usually kept this to himself "The kid knows damn well what's good for him, better than all these other people that claim they're right." Matthias had a good sense of justice and the attitude to go with it, sadly.
