Bido muttered a faint sorry as he followed and looked at Barry wondering what he thought of the entire thing. "These are the kind of things in life that make one very happy to be a chimera." Bido commented as Zolf gave them all a 15 minute head start.
(I'll be on less for a little while now, just drag Bido along)

Jean rubbed his chin, a light grimace on his face. He could tell her, even if it was going against regulations, but there wasn't really that much to tell. Turning to the kid, for his question was a hell of a lot easier than the woman's, he raised a hand and pointed it ahead of him "See, that weird building in the distance? That's the base." He hoped they got a decent welcome instead of an interrogation as to why they had civvies with them.
"I..I guess I don't really know why. I got orders to come out here and Kimblee was to be my CO. He called into his boss, they gave me some orders and the rest you pretty much know." If you can explain yourself in one breathe then you're on a need to know basis. An old rule he picked up in his barrack days.

It seemed as though Bido couldn't tell when he was joking. "Bido, I'm giving us a thirty minute head start. I do have a vested interest in saving my own skin, you know."
As for moving on, seemed it was pretty much Envy's call from here on.
He turned to Barry and Bido, "Okay guys, speak now or forever hold your peace." he said, regarding any last comments or objections to the job in progress.

Envy rolled his eyes. It annoyed him being compared to his. . .-Mother-. . .The fact he was so closely related to her made everything all the more humiliating. Of course, nobody knew that, so he was really more embarrassed in front of himself then anybody. ”Relax. Once I’m in charge we won’t need philosopher’s stones, so I won’t be relying on you so much. I’ll already be the most powerful being alive. Master needs the things to live though, so as long as she’s in command people like you end up having to keep coming back into the picture. This’ll be the last thing I need you for, then you’re off the hook.”
Upon arriving in front of the temple, Envy nodded and continued leading them on inwards. ”I generally assumed you had some way of preventing yourself from being used up for the transmutation. . . I was leaving your life in your own hands. Isn’t that how you like it anyway?”. Envy gave a slight chuckle. ”Can’t do everything for you, now can I?”. Of course, he wasn’t really doing much of anything all that helpful and was just stroking his ego again, being himself, really.
Once they arrived at the inner sanctum where Envy had made his little acolytes prepare the transmutation chamber, the group encountered a good few guards, clad in robes. While Envy had considered going inside in the form of Cornello to just explain things to them, that would take far too long, and besides, he imagined Barry and Kimblee wouldn’t mind a bit of killing after how long they’d been idle. Envy turned his arm into a blade and pointed forwards to the guards with it. ”Don’t leave a single one alive. We can’t have any witnesses, now can we?”. While there weren’t many guards, they weren’t particularly intimidated by the small group. A fruitcake, a tin can, a deformed old man, and a psycho. Nothing to be worried about, right? Just the usual heretics. . .

"I know when to stay quite." Bido commented simply on the alchemist his last protest occasion offer. As they entered the temple and Envy ordered them to kill the guards the gecko chimera jumped up against the wall and out of the way. Sure he knew how to kill if needed (the tail had it's use after all) but why bother if the two others were just all too eager to get that job done.

Barry sent a slightly irritated glare towards the newly arrived Envy. He had got the hint that he was the big cheese in all this, he was the one with most of the control on his hands. He kept silent as they walked on, slowly digesting the information the two in charge were discussing. He glanced down at...Bido was it? His question anyway. "Pff...thats not the amount of time I'd prefer, but I could easily run like that if I needed to." He was slightly relieved anyway however, as Zolf indignantly stated the actual time they would have.
At Zolf's mild request he shrugged. "I trust you're gonna try and eliminate the risks. In any case, I'll probably be able to run faster than any of you if I'm motivated the right way, and a massive transmutation like this backfiring is probably all the push I'm gonna need to get outta the area in no time. So I'm not that worried. As long as I don't have to be near that thing while you do it. I wanna be at a safe distance in any case."
As they entered the temple, he looked up warily as the temple guards slowly advanced. He was slightly surprised at Envy's announcement, but not at all dissapointed. By the contrary. He reached down with a chuckle, but remembered that he actually didn't have any form of weapon. The two knives were still lying on the bed in their mankey hotel room. He cursed loudly.
"Daaaamn...Alright, I've mislaid my choice of tool." He said awkwardly to the transvestite, scratching the back of his neck. "But I'll handle." He turned towards the guards again. Hardly any of them were armed with guns. Flexing his hands slightly, he clenched them with a low rumble of satisfaction, letting his gaze slide over the small spines on his knuckles. "I imagine I'll probably do just fine without."

Kimblee grinned from ear to ear and cracked his knuckles. What a stroke of fortune! And no 'damsels in distress' to see him behaving badly. He chuckled quietly as one surprised guard approached him. As soon as he was within reach, his hands shot out and grabbed his throat. He activated the arrays and the mans head exploded off his shoulders, sending blood spray all over him, Barry and Envy. Bido, leaving mens' work for the real men, had scurried up the wall. That's okay, it just would ruined all the new clothes he'd just bought.
Zolf pulled out his pocket knife and tossed it to Barry. "Sorry Barry, it's a miserable excuse of a knife for a guy like you, but I suppose you could have some fun with it right?
A guard tried to run past him and he snatched him and slammed him to the ground. The bastard apparently had some skills as he tried to gouge his eye out as he pinned him. "Oh, that's gonna cost you, fucker!" he said in a silky voice. Grinning maniacally, he grabbed around his wrists and blew his hands off, leaving bloody stumps. He dug his finger into the mans eye and yanked one out of the socket, but left it attached to his head by the long nerve attached. The man was screaming and kicking as he closed the eye in his palm and activated the array to burn it slowly. Then lightning shot down the nerve and the screams stopped. It's hard to scream with no head.
He got to his feet and ran after the remaining guard. This one would be a sacrifice. Just a little extra 'boom' to add to the chili pot. He extracted the stone, letting it fall out of his mouth. He forced the helpless guard to swallow it. Once he got the real thing, he wouldn't need this one anyhow. And a sacrifice with a stone inside would only insure that the Lior citizens were drawn to the array.

Barry shivered involuntarily as the blood flecked the metal of his armour. He gratefully caught the small knife with a roar of triumph. "I reckon It'll do just fine!" He lunged forward, grabbing a startled guard by the collar, and stabbing him deeply in the stomach with the knife. The guard let out a strangled gasp of pain, clutching his stomach as he dangled in Barry's grip, desperately trying to stem the flow of crimson liquid positively pouring out. Barry cackled manically, and with a vicious twist of the knife he completely tore apart his victims abdomen, letting go of him so the unfortunate guard fell to the ground in a heap, clutching his stomach in vain, weakly trying to push his internal organs back where they belonged, too weak to utter a sound. Barry spun around, kicking another guard in the chest, causing him to double over as all the air was forced out of his lungs. Barry clenched his fist and punched him, breaking the unfortunate person's jaw and mangling his face to an unrecognizable pulp with the sharp spines on the back of his hand. He stiffened, and turned his head to glare at the trembling young man who had wedged his ritual spear with the holy banner in the small gap under his shoulder joint, making it impossible for Barry to move his right arm without difficulty. "You-nnnrgh-" Barry grabbed the stick with a snarl, bending it until breaking point, where it snapped with a vicious shower of small splinters. A large part of the pole slid inside Barry's armour with a clatter, though he was far too occupied to notice. A heavily built man charged at him from behind, grabbing his arms and twisting them behind his back at a stiff angle, grunting with the effort it took. Barry growled angrily and kicked out, managing to break free. By now the guards were realizing that it wasn't going to be so easy to subdue these heretics. But still they seemed to have no fear. The pastor would merely use his holy powers if they died...they needed not be afraid. As the guard who had attacked him from behind charged again, Barry quickly unfixed his head and shifted it in his grip, then bringing it upwards at just the right moment to lodge the spines on his head into the guards stomach. The guard stopped short, a low gurgle rising in his throat as blood welled up in his mouth, gazing shocked down as Barry twisted his helmet, causing mayhem in the internal system. He laughed again, a low trembling snigger, wrenching his blood-stained helm loose again, and putting it back where it belonged. He hadn't felt this good for years. As the blood trickled down his forehead, dripping in front of his eyes and clouding his vision, he thought nothing, felt nothing...but the thrill of the kill. ((WOOOO purdy red coulours.... ))

During the entire fight Bido hung up on the wall calm while watching the blood scène. It was nothing new so it didn't shocked him either. If you lived in a house with assassins and a Homonculus it was hard to be shocked anymore. However he did found the guards pretty shocking. They kept coming with no fear as they were all bloody being slaughtered to die slowly and most likely pretty painful as well. What a religion and a bunch of lies couldn't do to a man's mind, it was pretty impressive actually.
As Bido was watching the scene for halfway up the wall one of the guards however had seemed to be smarter and less suicidal as the others so had decided upon attacking an easier prey. The man had tip toed up to behind the chimera before stabbing for wards with his spear in hope to at least get one of the intruders to drop. However the person he had expected to be an easy prey wasn't as easy as he had bargained for. Before the spear could hit it's target Bido had already moved away. "So rude." He commented as he hung upside down on the wall. At this it finally occurred to the poor guard, who had unfortunately only been blessed with courage and not with any form of intelligence, that the smaller figure was actually hanging against a wall. "Demon!" The man cried as he stared at the chimera. "Get out of this house of god intruders." It must have been the best moment in the guards life to be able to use such a godly words as he started stabbing at the chimera with his spear as he let out a roar for a courage boost. "Well sure why not, do I look like I have horns?!" The gecko chimera said insulted as his tail shot out wrapping around the spear and snapping it before throwing it away. This seemed to become too much for the guard as he gathered all his courage and ran up to chimera that hung on the wall, his eyes closed as a courages warrior that was about to save the day... Bido on his turn just crawled higher as the man ran at full speed against the wall. "Lets hope that praying helps against headaches." He commented as he gave the dazzled guard a helpful little push with his tail in direction of Zolf and Barry as the poor man was trying to get his one single braincell back into working function as he wobbled to the two blood soaked men who seemed to be having the time of their life.
((Sorry but I just had to give poor Bido some action as well X3))

[No problem! Good to see Bido join the chaos ^^]
The stunned guard bumped into Kimblee, nearly knocking him on his ass. The sacrifice tried to struggle out of his grip, so he deprived him of his ability to see, one burned out eye at a time.
The man screamed, covering his eyes as blood seeped through his fingers.
"You know, I think you need to shut the hell up," Zolf snapped at him. He grabbed him by the throat and burned his esophagus and larynx, effectively leaving him a hissing mute. "That's better." He swept his foot against the back of his knees, making him drop on the ground.
"What do you say Barry? Want this last one?" he asked, "Make it good, it'll probably be the last for awhile... well, wet work at any rate." He chuckled as he shoved him at Barry, "And would you look at that... so stoic... so noble, right up to the very end. Sickening, isn't it?"
Unfortunately, the intended sacrifice had died on the floor, stewing in his own blood. "Uh, Barry... I'm gonna need that knife when you're done." Damn... the guy had his stone somewhere in his guts now. Well, Barry would probably enjoy fishing for it. "On second thought, leave him to me, I need you to dig for treasure. This asshole up and died on me with the stone in his stomach. Isn't that rude?"

Barry turned as the guard staggered away from the wall, blindly bumping into Kimblee. Not a very forgivable mistake. He sniggered as Kimblee had his fun, then turned and stepped on the back of the guard he had stabbed in the chest with his helm, applying more and more pressure until he heard satisfying splintering crunch of a broken spine. The guard twitched with small convulsions, slowly becoming still.
Barry looked up at Kimblee's words catching the unlucky guard with an unpleasant leer. "Don't mind if I do. I know, they're just blind when it comes to religion, they're all the same." He had just lifted the small knife above the victims head, ready to bring it down when Kimblee changed his mind. "Dack. Fine then." He pushed the guard back to Zolf, gazing at the guy lying in a massive pool of his own blood on the floor. "Hm, you'd think something like that would keep him alive."
He knelt on one knee, quickly slitting up the man's belly with a smooth cut, ignoring the pulsating intestines and instead groping upwards towards the stomach itself. He couldn't feel a thing, he'd just have to grope blindly, hopefully managing to obtain the stone. After a few tries, having pulled out a hand filled with gore and...bits and pieces he suspected he'd scraped from the stomach wall, finally pulled out his bloody hand and held the small red pebble firmly in his hand.
"Here ya go, you have fun with that." He said cheerfully, throwing it to Zolf. He turned to the now nearly unrecognizable prisoner. "You know...I think I did quite a good job on that. After all this, I might even think of becoming a surgeon, eh?" He chuckled, if anyone was going to be banned from even trying such a choice of career, it would be him.

Roze shook her head at Wrath's comment, no matter that it, in some weird sense, was true. Instead, she focused on Jean, who had decided to answer the boy's comment, and ignored her... for now. When she heard the answer, she shook her head. It seemed the man didn't know very much at all, did he? "I... see..." she said quietly, and also wondered about the Military's reaction to him bringing her and the other boy. It wasn't just the fact that she was a civilian- some people in the military hated the Liorians as much as the Ishvallians. She knew that from personal experience, with one visit by some Military personelle. She slightly shuddered at the memory, one she wouldn't care to forget.
(Also, about Kimblee leaving the Military- if he does so, will he see Roze anymore? It seemed that he was starting to like her. XD)

[Well, he has to come back to HQ after Lior to give the Siran character back her ability to use alchemy. And yeah, Kimblee was starting to like her. Sheska didn't really like him and it broke his wee heart.
Pssst...he kinda liked Roze on the RW thread too. ]
After catching the stone, he tried to force the last guard to swallow it, but the bastard was as hard to feed as a baby that don't wanna be fed! "Barry, I'm gonna require that knife right about now." He held his hand out for it, not taking his eyes off the indignant and angry mans' glare. "This guy's gonna require a bit of surgury, I think." he grinned wickedly.
The guard slumped his shoulders and lowered his head in defeat. He was done for and there was no getting around it. He raised his head again, grim faced and stood, poised to accept his fate. Zolf patted his back amiably. "Don't worry guy, you'll go where we all go when we die... oblivion. I'm almost jealous."

(No matter, since i posted there anyway. But about this thread, I figured as much... although how is Kimblee going to explain that to her...? Depending on how he acts, he could be a consolant, and she could like him more, or she could hate him forever... anyway, if we want to talk more about this, this should probably go to PM's, so we don't clog the RP.)

Barry looked up and was readily about to give Zolf the knife when the guard submitted. He grinned as well as he could, and stood up. Giving the mangled corpse one last kick, he shifted the knife from hand to hand, though pausing to trip up a charging guard and then stabbing him in the back of the neck with a cackle. "That should be about all of them I reckon. Eh Kimb?"

After a bit more struggle, he finally got the guard to stop struggling. The man glared as he swallowed the stone.
"Say Ah!" Zolf ordered, "Gotta be sure you aint hidin it so you can spit it out later." The man scowled and opened his mouth and lifted his tongue. He had swallowed it after all.
Zolf unbuckled his belt and slid it out of the loops. The man looked alarmed and Zolf laughed. "Don't worry, it aint what you're thinking."
This would be the second time he's lost his belt in this stupid desert. He grabbed the man by the back of the neck and shoved him on the ground. After that he hog tied him with the belt. "Can't have you tryin' to run away you know."
He dragged the man by his hair over to the center of the array. The way he had him secured, there way no way he'd be going anywhere. And rolling off the spot was pretty much impossible too. He had no possible way to leverage himself.
"Okay boys, here goes!" He clapped his hands and touched one of the edges of the array, activating the 30 minute time released head start. He cringed for a moment, then realizing they were all still alive, he stood and brushed his hands free of dust.
"Well, I only got one thing to say about that...run!" he laughed. "We better beat feet. No point taking chances with thirty minutes or not."
He began jogging up the stairs that led to the exit.

Barry watched Zolf truss up and drag the poor fellow towards the array. As it was activated, he flinched slightly, but gave a sigh of relief when nothing happened. "You don't need to say that twice!" He yelled before turning and sprinting towards the outside opening.

As Zolf started working on the array Bido looked both facinated and slightly worried. As after a moment they still all seemed pretty alive and the alchemist told them to run Bido managed to run past the two others as he was quicker and doubled them as he ran against the wall. Once he had arrived at the exit he waited for a moment for the other two to catch up before ressuming the running.
