He looks back at him and lowers his voice: "Well, I thought, since we are both trying to figure out a way to-wards a Philosopher's stone, we can join forces. My research is limited only to books - you are the one out in the fields. We may as well try to work together... unless there would be some problem about it with the higher-ups... as it is now, I can't tell you more. I am bound by my orders."

Ed thought over what Tucker had told him. He wanted the Philosopher's Stone so badly. He promised his brother that he would return him to normal, and that is exactly what he planned to do. He looked to the ground, "I will do what I can..." He said to Tucker.

Hayate sensed Ed's suddenly subdued manner. The puppy turned away from his games and walked to the teenager and leaned against his leg, his eyes staring at Ed sympathetically.

Winrey noticed the change in Ed's face and it worried her. She knew the heavy burden Ed carried on his shoulders with what happened with him and Al. And though she didn't know completely what the philosopher stone would do and what it had to do with Tucker she could tell it was really difficult for them all. She knew she had to lighten the mood.
"So whose hungry? I bet if we headed back to Tucker's I could find something to make you guys." She smiled at them.

Ed turned to Winrey and smiled, "Yeah I should get Hayate back to HQ anyway." He knelt down to the dog, "What do ya say? Want something to eat and then head back to HQ?" He asked the little puppy. Then Al, Winrey, and I can get out of Central and away from Mustang... He thought to himself.

Looks over at the group and the prospect of having some good lunch cooked by a woman. Smiles mildly and nods: "We have some foodstuffs... If you want to cook, miss Winrey, that would be fine. So...hmmm...lets go back to my house then."
