name: Maria Ross
bio: She is a contained individual with a motherly air. Though she does her best for the State, she understands the importance of sentimentality.
relationships: Maria mainly associates closely with Denny Bloch. She treats others with respect and people appear to respect her. Despite some stiffness in her personality, she receives others well. There is a definite maternal existence for her with the Elrics.
likes: She enjoys being flattered by married men who left their wives years ago . There is a joy in knowing a stringent schedule and keeping to it. She enjoys the company of others as well as tending to their concerns.
dislikes: She doesn't like people in harm nor the idea of people who go around rules and put themselves in danger.
history: As a child, Maria had spent most of her time taking care of her younger brother. The mother had abandoned them as a child, leaving her un the hands of a close "family" friend. Her brother was a constant trouble maker, roaming the streets like some hoodlum, committing petty theft and vandalism.
Things took a turn for the worst when her brother was charged for murder of a state official. Such behavior eventually lead to his execution, leaving Maria with the guilt of "letting him down".
Because of the incident, she has become both independent and willing to protect those around her. Despite her hesitation when crossing certain boundaries, she works diligently to add a humanistic element to life.
My Info: Maria Ross is a representative ideal for
myself. My parents had to work away from home a lot so I had to learn to care for myself. I like rules [they make me happy x3] but I've also seen what happens when you break them. I love being a motherly type to people. But my non incredibly cheesy answer is "She's pretty bad arse for slapping Edward."
how far i am: I've seen all the first series and read a good majority of the manga. Im working on watching Brotherhood however.
sample:
Light glinted off the crystal China sitting in the store window. The shine mesmerized Maria as she sighed at its beauty. Today was her day off, the only chance she would get to shop or spend time on her own.
She continued to gaze upon the set until her eyes came upon the price tag.
"Ah....that's a bit too pricey for my tastes..." she continued down the road bustling with people. She found the brisk window shopping relieving.
Dust kicked up on the road, blowing in all directions. Her eyes began to water a bit before she heard a small whimper. A group of small children all stood restlessly, rubbing their eyes. Maria walked over and took a handkerchief, blowing into their eyes and lightly dabbing them. The children all smiled at the relief, thanked her and continued down the road. She smiled and suddenly thought of her brother.
"I'll take a break tomorrow..." she turned around, heading back to HQ.
