I definitely know how you feel, I've been good with paper and pencil since I was a tiny little girl. The computer art is a completely new field for me, and it gets to be a little frustrating, though hopefully it will pay off. I just can't wait until my mom can figure out the scanner, then I could scan in my current work, then alter them in the computer, and post them online... I've been waiting three months, and she wont let me do it (I know how to fix em' up, it's not like I'm new at it.), but I'm sure she'll get there eventually.

Heh, thanks, I'll pull through for sure. Commisions? I don't know what to suggest... I barely have an idea of what I want to do myself. But, I have decided I will finish a comic, no matter what. Even if it's just a collection of scribbles and incomplete thoughts.

Hmmm that's a hard one. The genra is easy, mostly action, fantasy, comedy. I'm not really a fan of the shojo genre, so there's probably never gonna be a romance scene, I'm a nerd, I just don't know 'bout that stuff.
For me, I'm not really working on just one comic, it's more like a series of comics and ideas. You see, my mind jumps around a lot, so very little of what I do is ever complete. I have one comic series that is fan based on World of Warcraft, starring my nonchalant character Nesmine as the leader of my experiences. Another would be the story of a young girl named Lolani, dating in modern times, she believes that she is being haunted by demons (It's a really dreary story so far). Then I have stories that don't really correlate with any logical time frame, they're just fantasy.
My most important work so far is another fantasy work, but it's timing frame resembles that of a few years before FMA. That one's been the most fun so far, as I've made more characters for that one (including Rouin), and there's all kind of different scenarios I can throw the characters into, as despite its realistic timing, there's still a large element of fantasy.
Overall, I guess I really don't care what happens with the stories, or if I even bother to get them published. I just want them to mean something, and I want to finish something. I really don't like comics that are just random, or scenes that feel rushed and out of place. I just have to push myself to finish something before I hit eighteen, otherwise, people in colleges aren't about to believe that I can do something if I don't have proof.
If you want, I could scan in the work that I do and post it on a thread, and you could be my editor. I think a large problem of my lack of drive would be the fact that there's no due dates, and nobody looking at my work, expecting improvement.
I'll let you know in advance, my art's in its beginning stages. There's no gore, little amounts of blood, and no horror scenes. Most of them are light hearted with some melodrama (I can't do anything too serious with a five year old in the house.), and the characters all appear young (despite my best attempts ;D). My most dramatic scenes would be in Lolani's story, and at the moment, I don't have enough talent to actually make them disturbing, or scary in the least.

hee cool! id love to read your stuff if you ever get around to finishing it and uploading it. im writing a comic too, but its untitled so far due to the fact i cant decide XD its about a boy called fate who is all work and no play, constantly studies and doesnt really have any close friends. he does this because he "ruined" his parents life by being born (mother wanted to give him up for adoption, father wouldnt let her, mother ran off with all the money leaving father saddled with a kid and no cash) and wants to pay back his father every cent he was ever spent on. one day though, he randomly meets this guy called karly. karly latches onto fate because he sees fate is lonely and introduces him to two japanese exchange student cousins called yuuta and itsuka. yuuta is this big tall scary looking guy in classes who never talks and itsuka is this sweet little girl in middleschool who translates his silence. yuuta and itsuka grew up together like siblings since itsukas parents died in a carcrash when she was young (theyre not actually first cousins, more like 16th cousins twice removed) and since yuuta took care of itsuka, she loves him and cant see the scariness about yuuta everyone else sees. anyway from then on, fate cant seem to get rid of karly who follows him like a puppy, or of yuuta who karly describes as his shadow, or of itsuka who is in love with yuuta and falls into kind of an odd friendship with them. then stuff will happen like the explaination of how yuuta and karly met, why yuuta never talks, what happened in yuuta and itsukas childhood and how karly helped them through tradgedy, and then of course an amusing plotline when itsuka starts highschool and reveals she is actually a HE, and so fourth.
:3 fate is the main character, but i wanted the comic to have as many diverse characters as possible, meaning they all have their own story.

Nice, it sounds really interesting, I'd like to read it sometime. So Itsuka is a boy? I hope he didn't mind everyone thinking he was a she for the longest time. That's an interesting name, as it translates to five days, or the fifth day of the month. The other ways to translate it would be sometime, someday, one day, some time, or other. Do any of those translations have anything to do with the person? Or are those just coincidental?
I've been going insane, I have a good deal more than fifty characters, all with their own unique stories and details. It's been difficult deciding who goes where, as I make characters before the plotline. My comics might be a little difficult to follow, as for each new book, the plotline is different, and the goals are different. Sometimes, the characters don't even relate to each other, yet exist within the same timeline.
Brain... make up my mind!! I've waited almost two years to work on my comics, and it feels like I've gone nowhere!

Hehe, it was a coincidence actually. i chose the name by first thinking of a crossdresser (ritsu from fruitsbasket) then derived the name itsuka, and it sounded legit so i used it. wasnt till later i discovered its meaning XD and itsuka doesnt actually know everyone thinks hes a girl. he dresses as a girl cos yuuta likes girls, and thinks when people refer to itsuka as "she" that theyre just making fun of him, which he takes into stride. yuuta is the only one who knows hes a boy, not even ultra clingy and nosey karly knows.

Ah, that makes sense, poor guy, I hope he doesn't mind the misconception. Most of my characters don't really have any crazy twists (unless you consider psychotic a twist), though most of them are girls. It probably comes from living in a family of just four girls (the boys being new additions to the family, my father was bad, so we left him.), but most of my characters are female, and the ones that aren't appear feminine. It's kinda annoying, but I'm trying to work out the kinks. At least I draw some really adorable girls, and some awesome zombies (the only things that don't look feminine with my art are monsters).

I know how you feel, my sisters are pretty cruel most days, but I live on. I just wish they'd listen to me, I am the oldest after all. Maybe we could work together on a few things, I think I might need a few tips on drawing boys, I have very little experience on that. I might be able to give you a few tips if you want as well, shading, coloring, proportions, ect. We might make a good team... if only I could get that blasted scanner working.
(Not important, but this is my 100th post. WOOT!! ;D Just thought that was special.)

Sure please do! I'd love to see how she turns out, I've never actually seen any of my characters in another persons style. I know how you feel, my sisters are artsy, but they're style is so different, tips don't help. I think it would be a lot of fun to work together, or at least reveiw eachothers work.

I'm so sorry, I hope you get better soon. I haven't been sick, but my performance hasn't exactly been great either. I really hope everything gets better for you, it's been a really tough winter.
