Magrace walked out into the hallway, followed closely behind by his colleague. Growing annoyed with Bandit and her incessant barking, he turned and delivered a kick to the small animal. "Be gone, you worthless mutt!"
Dante gave Magrace a surprised look as he headed into her study. She gave Bandit a sympathetic look, then followed Magrace into the study and closed the door.
"I have been doing some research over the past few months," Magrace began as he strolled over to the window, clasping his hands behind his back. "Trying to learn how to open the Gate without alchemy. My latest specimen is proving quite useful in our endeavour...."
"Go on," Dante implored him, glancing at the door before hesitantly taking a seat at her desk. She really wanted to check and see if Bandit was alright, since her daughter was so very fond of her.
Magrace paused, then chuckled suspiciously. "...The Gate should be opened in a few more weeks. I suggest you start preparing for our departure."
Meanwhile, Juliette smiled and waved at Arden. "Hi..."

The kick had left Bandit shaken, but not beaten. She followed Dante and Magrace to the doors of her study and was barking madly at them. However, she whimpered in fear when she heard the last statement from Magrace.

"According to what I read in your notes, the Gate can be opened by using a baby because they are not yet attached to the mortal realm. Am I correct?" Magrace looked over at Dante.
"That's right," Dante answered calmly, listening to the hysterical barking coming from the other side of the door. She was glad to know that Bandit still had the strength to keep barking after such a powerful blow.
"I came up with a theory related to that," he continued, wandering away from the window. "...And, judging from the results I have been getting this past week, it seems to be valid. We will be in Amestris in no time," he chuckled sinisterly.

Bandit had pressed her head to the wall, trying to hear the conversation. She continued to whimper in fear.
Meanwhile, Kyle was hearing all the same words. He was confused, and somewhat interested. So he headed towards Dante's study. After shooing the small puppy away, he knocked on the door with him bat.
Arden smiled back, and grabbed a stuffed Manic the Hedgehog plush and offered it to Juliette. "Manikuku" she babbled happily, holding out her toy.

Magrace sighed in aggravation when he heard someone knocking on the door. Opening it, he looked askance at Kyle and rapped his bony fingers on the frame impatiently. "This had better be important, boy."
Juliette hesitated, then slowly approached Arden and accepted the plush. It wasn't her Pikachu, but she liked it a lot. "Tank you," she smiled gratefully, hugging the plush.

"Manicool" Arden said, pointing at her toy. Judging by the sounds, her baby talk could possibly mean something along the lines of "Manic's cool". Martel sighed when she realized she need to give Arden her bottle. However, she couldn't just leave the babies alone.
Kyle smiled softly. "I just wanted to know if you'd like some assistance in your plot to open the Gateway to Madam Dante's world" he said, his voice too deep to even be human.

"Quite the cunning little child," Magrace commented, folding his arms and looking down at the boy critically. "This is the one you told me about - the one that can read minds, right?" he looked over at Dante, who nodded in affirmation.
Magrace turned back to Kyle and gave him a condescending smirk. "Even though your talents could be of use to me, I'm afraid you would only be a burden, my dear boy. Now run along and play your little games."
He then slammed the door in Kyle's face and turned back to Dante. "Children are so bothersome, ne?"
"Magrace, I don't think that was very smart," Dante chuckled knowingly.
Juliette nodded, cuddling the plushie. "Bery cool."

Arden grabbed a pair of pens from the bed and drummed out a rhythem on the book that was left in front of her. The beat of the drumming sounded very similar to the song River Lullaby from Prince of Egypt, Amy Grant's version.
Kyle stood in shock for a moment, then smiled demonically. He closed his eyes, and projected images into Magraces brain. Images that would make even a man like that, wither in fear. Or, at least he hoped.

Scar stared down the military dog for a while. Just for the hell of it. "Your not worth my time." he finally said. "Even the military thinks your shit. Thats rather sad, considering they'll take just about anyone." With that, he headed to the kitchen to fix dinner.

Magrace had anticipated a mental onslaught, knowing from Dante how vindictive the telepath could be. He countered the barrage of horrifying images with some of his own: images of Kyle bound to a bloody table in a dark room popped into the man's head, a blob rotting corpses of dead animals and human beings sewn to the boy's body while he hovered above him, holding a scalpel. Agonizing screams and pleas for death could be heard from all directions.
"The images you are seeing... will become a reality if you test my patience any further," Magrace warned him mentally, tone utterly sadistic.
Dante was watching Magrace with curiosity. He had been silent for a while, and she knew he must be having some sort of confrontation with Kyle.
YOKI
Once Scar was out of sight, Yoki flew into a rage. How dare that monkey insult him like that! Being a coward, he didn't dare say anything against the frightening Ishbalan. Instead, he headed upstairs to plot his vengeance.

'Only a fool would fear death. It's such a sweet release to be able to watch the suffering of others while the Great One holds you close to him' Kyle projected back, thumping his bat rhythmetically on the ground.
Meanwhile, Arden had begun to drum out another tune on the book with the pens. It was a drum-beat to the song, I Am All of Me from the video game Shadow the Hedgehog. "Manicool" she cooed again as she continued to drum.
Noticing Yoki coming upstairs, Bandit immediately ran over to him, barking madly.

"Indeed, only a fool would fear death," Magrace agreed with an amused chuckle. "...But you have misunderstood the visions, boy. What you just witnessed was not an omen of death - not by any means."
Juliette began moving her hips to the beat, enjoying herself.
Hearing the puppy barking at him, Yoki let out a terrified yelp and ran away from Bandit as quickly as his lanky legs could carry him.

'Oh? And what was it? An invatation to tango?' Kyle projected, chuckling softly to himself.
Arden tossed the pens into the air and caught them expertly before drumming on the book again. She babbled tunefully to the beat of the song she played.
"Remind me to get you drumming lessons when you're older" Martel said, half-jokingly to her daughter.
Bandit, although she was small, was fast and she easily caught up to Yoki. However, she didn't growl, but just stared at the man, wondering what he would do.

Magrace closed his eyes and smiled knowingly. He remained silent for a few moments, then answered the disturbing boy: "...Eternal life... and eternal suffering."
Reaching the end of the hallway, Yoki backed up against the wall and stared at the harmless puppy in suspicion and fear. "...Go away or I'll make doggie stew out of you," he threatened. "...Hey, I rhymed! I'm a poet and I didn't know it!"

'Eternal life and eternal pain? I'm already living in the latter, so it wouldn't matter. Just answer this question: why won't you allow me to assist you?' Kyle mentally asked the wicked adult.
Bandit simply sat down, not getitng any closer to the filthy man. She yawned, showing off her small but sharp teeth, but stayed put.

Scar sighed as he tended to his assortment of chopped vegetables, meat, and a boiling pot. He was wearing a white apron, with a little chef hat and everything. It seemed that he was one of the soul providers of decent culinery skills in this house. "KEEP IT DOWN UP THERE!" he shouted to whoever was upstairs. Damn it, kids were trying to sleep...

Upstairs, Nikolai had heard Scar shouting and began screaming himself. Obviously the young boy was frightened by the tone of the Ishbalans words.
"Niko?" Arden babbled, pausing in her drumming to look at her brother in a concerned fashion.
Martel picked up her son, and attempted to comfort him, to no real avail.

"Because I see you for what you truly are," Magrace answered casually. "Your demon spawn routine might have gotten to that Archer twit, but I'm not as easily fooled. The only thing remotely unique about you is your telepathy; aside from that, you are nothing more than a self-conscious little boy who acts out to emphasize his existence. To put it simply, you are about as useful to me as anal seepage."
Yoki began to slowly slide along the wall toward the nearest door, keeping his beady eyes on the puppy.

Scar just sighed and dropped a few potatoes in the stew he was making. "Idiots.." he muttered as he diced up some beef. Then the phone started ringing. Washing off his hands, SCar whiped them off on a hanging town and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" he asked. Short pause. "Oh, Mr.Graves. What do you need?" Pause. "...Sir...are you joking?" Pause. "..I...I understand...Thank you..." Scar hung up the phone with somewhat trembling hands. "...God damn it..." he whispered. He was screwed now...

'I can attest to the fact that I am far more intellegent than other children my age. And my telepathic abilities do help me to overthrow my enemies. You ever hear of that Lemony Snicket boy who went missing about two months ago?' Kyle smiled maniacly.
Bandit kept her eyes on the lanky man, barking once as she backed away from him.
In her room, Martel was gently bouncing Nikolai, to try and soothe her screaming child. She felt his forehead, and he did feel a little warm. She'd see the doctor either later or tommarow, to see if he really was sick.
