"This baby is special. It's part homunculus, which will make it very useful to Master once it grows up," Sloth said, taking the bowls and placing them on the table.

"How is that possible? I thought Homunculi couldn't make babies....and isn't that woman a chimera?" Wrath asked, sitting at the table. He grabbed a bowl of salad and began to eat, shoveling the food down his throat.

Sloth went back to the counter to finish preparing the food. "Logically it shouldn't be possible, but it happened. Master is still trying to find out how. And yes, the mother is a chimera - one of the many that escaped from Lab 5 with Greed."

"Aren't chimeras like those animals that are part donkey and part horse? Doesn't that mean they shouldn't able to have babies either?" the young boy asked between bites of carrots and lettuce.

[dante]

"A chimera is a hybrid of a human and an animal," Sloth said as she worked on her master's plate. "I don't see why they couldn't have children, as long as their reproductive organs are intact."

Wrath nodded, and stopped eating. He looked worriedly at Sloth. "Do you think Master will make you take care of the baby once it's born?"

Sloth stopped preparing the food, frowning thoughtfully. "Master never said anything about it, but it's possible. She certainly won't raise it herself, and I doubt she'll entust it to any of the others."

"Why can't we just leave the baby with some human woman and steal it when it can actually help us?" Wrath asked hopefully. He didnt' want to share his mommy with some dumb useless baby.

[dante]

"We need to have control over every aspect of the child's upbringing, so that's out of the question," Sloth replied as she walked over to the wine cabinet and began searching for a bottle. "And you don't need to worry, dear. Even if I have to raise it, you'll always be my special boy."

"How do we even know if the baby is going to survive? I mean, a Homunculus has never had a child before, right?" Wrath asked his mother, smiling in relief at her reassurance.

[dante]

"You are far too curious for your own good, Wrath," Dante admonished the child as she walked into the room, wearing her maroon house dress and a pair of black stockings.

Sloth greeted her with a bow. "Your dinner is ready, Master. And I must say you look stunning."

"Don't I? I haven't had a body this beautiful in a long time," Dante chuckled sultrily, taking her seat at the head of the table.

Wrath flinched slightly at Dante's scolding. "You look very beautiful, Master" he said, hoping that he wouldn't get in trouble anymore with Dante.

Dante completely ignored his compliment, impaling a piece of her lobster with her fork and dunking it in butter. "I overheard you two talking about the child."

"Am I to raise it?" Sloth asked as she poured a glass of wine for her master.

"You are the best candidate, so yes," Dante said, sipping her drink. "And Wrath, you should not expect Sloth to coddle you. Homunculi are incapable of emotion, so whatever feelings you two might have for each other are purely artificial. Understood?"

"If Homunculi don't have emotions, why should Mommy have to take care of the baby? It's not like it would care if we ignore it" he said angrily.

[dante]

Dante sighed in aggravation, lowering her wine glass. "Wrath, I do not have to explain myself to you. Now behave yourself before I punish you."

Wrath glanced at Sloth, hoping she would answer his question. He then looked back to Dante, and nodded. "Yes Master" he said, going to back to eatting his salad.

Dante returned to eating her supper, ignoring her two servants. Dipping a piece of lobster in some butter, she took a dainty bite, savoring the flavor.

"Master," Sloth began timidily, not wanting to annoy her any further, "if I may ask, where will I be raising the children?"

"That is inconsequential," Dante answered, dabbing her mouth with her napkin. "As long as they are raised the way I want, I couldn't care less. But I suppose it would make sense for you to keep them at your home."

Wrath glared half-heartedly at Dante before quickly turning to his meal. He did not want to have to share his mom with anyone. Especially nto a bunch of stupid, wet-diapered, annoying as hell, wailing babies. In his opinion, the only thing babies were any good for were experiments on how quicly they coudl explode if you poured gasoline on them and trhew a lit match.

Dante looked up from her plate, narrowing her eyes slightly at the sight of the young homunculus. She had a feeling he was going to cause trouble once the child was born. He was far too attached to Sloth for his own good, and if that affected her latest project, he would pay dearly.

"And Wrath," she began in her usual threatening tone, "I'm sure I don't need to remind you what will happen if you cause any trouble for your newest sibling."

Martel was standing at the edge of the woods near the huge mansion. She stayed behind the trees, so she wouldn't be detected. She sighed. She couldn't believe she was even considering this. Not to mention she knew once her babies were born, she would be killed. Dante probably wouldn't want her around once she had outlived her use. But at this point, she didn't care. She just wanted to make sure her babies survived and that her comrades were safe.

Her thoughts were interuppted as a sharp pain cut through her body. She grimaced as she grabbed her stomach, screaming in pain. This must have been what X was talking about. She knew she could handle the pain, but she wasn't sure about her babies. But she did know one thing- if she lost them because of this, X would die.
