Passing two privates who saluted, giving the respect that a Lieutenant Colonel deserved, Frank Archer strode through the hallways, his eyes not seeking anything but vigilant nonetheless. Some habits were simply programmed into the minds of men. Peace is but an intermission of the conflict known as the existence of humanity. The weighing of scales was in preparation. The sides were merely being readied, and the guns loaded.
The chief of intelligence made his way down the steps of the front of his office, smiling to the guard pleasantly before pausing, checking his pockets. Satisfied that nothing was missing, nor pilfered, the pale man began to walk along the street. His meeting would not be brief, but he had time to spare. "The most flexible schedule is that which leaves space for the unknown and the unexpected..." And as Archer made his own, ample time did he have.
