---Character Information---
1.) Character Name --Dante (Dante of the Deep Forest, That Person, The Master, You-Know-Who)
2.) Character Bio -- Dante of the Deep Forest, as she is known to the citizens of Dubilith, is a reclusive herbalist and very skilled alchemist. She is also the former alchemy teacher of Izumi Curtis, who in turn taught Edward and Alphonse Elric. While she may seem to be a kindly and timid old woman, she is truly a twisted and manipulative monster on the inside. Dante is also the leader of the Homunculi, and secretly controls them from behind the scenes.
3.) Relationships with people -- Even though she is capable of pretending to be friendly and warm-hearted toward people, these sentiments lack any truth or value. Dante sees people as ignorant, self-absorbed creatures who need to be protected from themselves. Because of this, she doesn't even consider herself human! Even though she hates humans, she seems to be matronly toward her homunculi; despite this, she is not above inflicting horrible punishments upon them.
4.) Likes -- She once loved Hohenheim of Light and was his lover and possibly his wife; however, after he abandoned her, she grew to despise him enough to send him through The Gate in an attempt to kill him. Although, considering the way she addressed him at their confrontation late in the series, she may still harbor feelings for him.
Dante seems to be pretty neutal when it comes to her homunculi servants: while she is generally nice to them, she has no problem with manipulating and torturing them to further her selfish aims.
5.) Dislikes -- People in general, death, Hohenheim of Light (for abandoning her)
6.) History of the character -- (Taken from Wikipedia) Dante first appears as the former alchemy teacher of Izumi Curtis, who in turn taught the protagonists Edward and Alphonse Elric. Soon after her meeting with the Elrics, Dante fakes her death at the hands of the Homunculus Greed, who is in turn killed by Ed, although it is obvious to the viewer that her body was dead before Greed had arrived.
Much later in the series, it is revealed that Dante had transferred her soul to Lyra's younger body, thereby prolonging her life. Dante is actually around 400 years old and is able to escape death by continually transferring her soul to new, younger bodies with the aid of the Philosopher's Stone. Nearly 400 years ago, she was Hohenheim's lover, and together they lived for centuries using this technique. They even had a son; however, he died of mercury poisoning at a young age. Hohenheim's attempt to transmute him back to life created the Homunculus Envy.
The first Philosopher's Stone that Dante and Hohenheim made used those condemned as witches and those dying of the plague as the required human sacrifice. In the course of performing this transmutation, Hohenheim was nearly killed; Dante saved him by instinctively attaching his soul to the body of another man; thus the pair discovered "eternal" life. In addition to this first Stone, Dante and Hohenheim were responsible for the destruction of at least two ancient cities: one located where the present capital of Amestris, Central, now stands, and a "fabled lost city in the East," each of which is said to have mysteriously disappeared overnight. The inhabitants of the cities were used as ingredients in the Stone, while the buildings were pulled underground with alchemy. However, some twenty years or so prior to the beginning of the anime, Hohenheim fell in love with Trisha Elric and left Dante for good.
Suddenly left to fend for herself, Dante resorted to using the Homunculi to do her bidding. She seeks out Homunculi from the moment they are created (when an alchemist tries to bring a dead person back to life) and feeds them Red Stones, thus strengthening them. She convinces the Homunculi that they will be better off as true humans, and makes them believe that she can transform them into true humans with the power of the Philosopher's Stone. Hence, the Homunculi become her minions in helping her to create the Stone. In reality, she only wants the Stone for herself in order to continue cheating death.
Unwilling to risk creating a Philosopher's Stone herself, Dante seeks to manipulate someone else into unwittingly doing so for her. However, she reasons that only someone with nothing left to lose would go so far as to sacrifice the many human souls required to create a Philosopher's Stone. Thus she uses the Homunculi (especially Führer King Bradley, who is secretly the Homunculus Pride) to wage unceasing war, hoping to motivate a desperate alchemist to create a Philosopher's Stone, which the Homunculi would then steal for her. To this end, she orchestrates the slaughters in Ishbal and Lior, and later, to cover her tracks, she orders Pride to attack Drachma, a country to the north. In the latter campaign, she plans to use the chaos on the front lines as a cover for the planned assassinations of Roy Mustang and his subordinates by Envy.
Due to her rapidly decaying body from overusage of the soul transfer, Dante had planned to transfer her body into Rose's next. This way, she hoped to gain control of Ed, hoping Rose's feelings for him would allow her to control him to make her the Philospher's Stone (Since Hohenheim had abandoned her)
After a final confrontation with Edward and Alphonse, she is last seen fighting off a crazed, mindless Gluttony while attempting to return above ground in the elevator to Pride's office. When the elevator reaches its final destination, neither she nor Gluttony is inside, heavily implying that the crazed homunculus ate her. Unlike Gluttony, Dante does not appear in Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa yet Lyra does, when Edward is having tea with Frtiz Lang. She appears and bows to Fritz. Upon recognizing her Edward gawks at her making Lyra leave in a huff. Dante does not exist in the manga, as the creator and leader of the Homunculi in the manga is an enigmatic being simply called "Father."

1.) Why do you want to be this character? Dante is my favorite FMA character. Her evil, twisted personality and the way she's able to instil absolute terror within most of the homunculi has always impressed me.
2.) How far are you into the Anime? I've seen the entire series and the movie.
3.) How far are you into the Manga? I've only read a few chapters, but I do read about the plot developments on Wikipedia every now and then.

Considering that it was a late summer evening, the abundant rainfall and loud thunder were a bit out of place. The sky could best be described as an abyss of utter darkness, the light of the stars unable to pierce through the black rainclouds overlooking the town of Risembool. Winds as cold as death itself filled the air, blowing the leaves of the many towering trees with great force. The weather was strange for this particular season, yes, but was at the same time befitting, considering the horrible atrocity committed just an hour before.
The townsfolk were all tucked away in their homes, probably asleep in their beds, awaiting the sunrise that signaled the beginning of another workday. However, there was one person out that night: an elderly woman, holding a violet parasol over her head to protect herself from the pouring rain as she casually strolled down the town's main path. Her light brown hues were set on a decently-sized house positioned on a nearby hill, her lips curved into a small smile. There would be no other reason for those boys to leave Dubilith and return to their home. After all, what is home without a family? she thought as a small chuckle escaped her lips.
About ten minutes later, she arrived at the house's backyard and waited patiently. If those boys did indeed attempt to transmute their mother, she thought, the undeveloped homunculus would eventually wander outside. His children wouldn't notice it wandering away, too busy dealing with the toll The Gate had demanded of them. As it turns out, she was right: a mass of confused flesh and bone was crawling toward the stranger, its breathing distorted and heavy.
"Poor dear," said Dante in a sympathetic tone as she reached into the right pocket of her dress, aware of the abomination's pain and agony. From the confines of her pocket she removed a handful of Red Stones, which she extended out to the newborn homunculus. "Eat." she commanded. The monster happily obliged, lowering its face onto the old woman's palm and feasting on the glowing gems.
"When I heard she died, I knew it would come to this. After all, they are the sons of Hohenheim," she whispered to herself, knowing that the homunculus wouldn't be able to understand her. Finished with its meal, the homunculus fixed its glowing purple gaze on its future master. "Those boys abandoned you, didn't they? But don't worry, dear... you have a family now."
