and I hope if they ever do something... (still trying to not believe this new) it's about the manga and it will be an alternate story... not a continuation.

Well, I doubt they could do a continuation, without angering the fans of the anime. I mean, they had the Elrics stuck in our world and they killed off all the Homunculi, so in my opinion, it would be harder to get into the show again.

Personally, I hope the new series has elements from both the original anime and the manga, but tells it's own version of the storyline.

That's an excellent idea, Martel. I doubt they would be able to do a continuation of the anime, but I think it would be awkward if they did an anime based on the manga. Reproducing all the episodes before the divergion would be a bit strange, don't you think?

Yeah, plus the first 30ish issues of the manga are basically the same as the anime, with the exception of some characters die faster in the manga and Ed's older when certain events occur. Though the only element that HAS to be in the show, to me, is the Homunculi. Though what version (manga or original versions) and how they're created make me interested.

maybe they will go back and redo it to follow the manga...like go to where they anime diverged from the manga and follow it...I think that would be a good idea

I am still incredibly wary of it...there is definitely such a thing as too much of a good thing...I just hope they don't ruin the show that exists already...that would not be a benefit to the fans...it would be an injustice actually

I agree, with; Martel, Dante, and Ed.
To much of a good thing in this case, would make it a redundancy.
If it was a continued part of the anime. What are they going to do? Make some magical way for Ed and Al to come back to the Alchemist world? Last I checked, that would be both a plot hole, and piss off the fans, more then the movie itself did already. (There are some fans out there who hate how the movie made the anime turned out. I'm indifferent, however.)
It would be a plot hole, because: In order to get the Elrics back to the "other" other side, they would need both sides of the gate temporarily opened once more. Without staying open. And I don't think they can contact Mustang out of no where and say "hey dude, we need your help. what do you say?" Not to mention, on the Alchemist's side of the gate, something had to be transmuted. And the best material, was already used. A Homunculus. All are gone, meaning it would be like another Philosopher stone. Trying to figure out how to get them back, possibly having to use a mass of humans to make up for the lack of a Homunculus. Which would so piss off the fans, at even an attempt. Thats the part I agree with Ed, on. As for Dante and Martel, if it fused the Manga and the actual anime into like some super-OVA. Then I just hope they don't screw the attempt up. If the said attempt, was actually a good one, I would not mind giving it a chance. If it was a bad one, then it would scar me on FMA forever. Lol.

Good point. Since all the homonculus are dead, well, there's a fairly simple solution that may be crazy. Perhaps the 'new generation' of homonculus come in? Some other alchemists use human transmutation and create more homonculi? Although, that would be strange.

As for me, I say FMA is FMA and it's awesome, whether done bad or not. ^-^. I think I'm one of few people who was pleased with the movie.

I liked the movie...I thought it did the series justice and I was happy that the brothers were together in the end. So you and I can enjoy the movie together!

Ah, I just got informed by a friend at school that someone (I don't know who) just published some sort of manga. It's kinda shaky, my knowledge, since this is talk in the lunchroom and of course people are screaming as loud as possible in there. Some kid is like, eaten by a homonculus (apparently they eat people in that series..) and something happens, but then he can use alchemy. There are only two types.. It had the potential, in my mind, to become the second series perhaps.

In any case, if that isn't the second one, then it'll be very strange to adjust from tiny Ed-kun to not-so-tiny Ed-kun.

I'm kind of hopeing they make one that follows the manga instead,seeing as I've only completed the manga and still have to complete the anime.Although I did enjoy the movie, I was sad that our world Alphonse died.

Yeah.. Me too. Following the manga would be interesting, but then again. Perhaps they jump off a totally different spring, like how they did that with the anime versus the manga the first time. I will probably watch this new series regardless if any plotholes or things are created. I'm a psychotic-type FMA fan.
