Having the Blues
The wind was blowing outside as the season was slowly changing. The leaves twirled down the trees colouring the grass red and orange. Inside the office Havoc was sitting behind his desk, his colleagues had gone for lunch break but he had rather staid alone for a moment.
Once more one of his girlfriends had dumped him. Once more for his superior officer... Life sucked for him. He didn't quite get why. He wasn't as much as a charmer as the colonel true but he was less of a perv as well. And if he would actually once mange to keep his girls he wouldn't dump them after he got them in bed. Havoc sighed again, for once no cigarette in his mouth as he had run all out of them already.
He had been about to mentally complain a bit more about his misery when the door opened and a certain first lieutenant walked in.
"Havoc?...Aren't you supposed to be on your lunch break?" She asked as she arched an eyebrow and closed the door behind her.
"I don't feel like lunch." He said still as depressed as ever as he leaned his head on his desk.
Hawkeye gave him a slightly worried glance as she walked closer, standing in front of his desk her arms crossed. "What's wrong Havoc?" She asked, though she could already guess.
"The usual." He muttered well aware of the fact. Riza somewhat smiled at this. It was true Havoc didn't have the best of luck. Though he was right, it wasn't quite fair either. She looked thoughtful for a moment before seeming to have an idea as she looked at the depressed man again who was banging his head against his desk. "Lieutenant Havoc stand up." She ordered briefly as the man seemed confused for a moment but did so.
This was typical Hawkeye, no sense of cheering what so ever. He looked even more confused when the first lieutenant stood before him with a semi stern look. "It's time you get over your self-pity Havoc." She said coolly.
'Ouch on that comment alright.'
"So the colonel steals your girlfriends once in a while that is no reason to sit here and go all pathetic. I thought you had more in you than that."
'Ouch again.' He noted. This woman really sucked at cheering people up. "You are a fine man, you are good looking, kind and more loyal in relationships than the colonel so you'll find yourself a good one eventually, you just need to look at the right place."
'Mhhh maybe she wasn't that bad at cheering after all.'
"But all the women like the colonel more than me. Every woman likes Mustang." He argued hanging his head.
"That is not true." The first lieutenant resented.
"Yes it is, even you do." He added in a pout.
At this Hawkeye blinked before shaking her head amused. "Whatever made you think that?" She questioned while looking at the man.
"You follow him around all the time." Havoc pointed out. It was no use he'd never get any woman the colonel wouldn't get.
"Havoc the Mustang is my superior and a good friend nothing more." Hawkeye defended.
It almost sounded like she tried to assure him of the fact, why would she do that?
"The point is you shouldn't let yourself be beaten that easily." She added sternly again.
Maybe it had been nothing after all. "Yes ma'am." He said eventually, his mood had brightened a bit, even if just a tad.
She frowned as she saw that all her cheering had helped just little. "No get your love life troubles out of your head second lieutenant and get to your paperwork."
Yes that was Hawkeye alright. Havoc was about to sit down again and do as told (though he probably end up drawing some doodles in his down mood) when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around again confused to see if his superior had something else to tell him when he felt a pair of soft lips press against his. The kiss had been over just as quickly as it had started and the first lieutenant sat at her desk taking out her papers again.
Havoc stood dumbfounded for a moment. That had been more than unexpected, unexpected but very nice.
"Havoc what are you standing there looking like an idiot?" He turned his head to see the others come in again.
"He's probably still depressed about the last girlfriend you stole of him sir." Breda chuckled and to his surprise for once not getting much reaction.
"Yes probably." Mustang equally chuckled as he sat at his own desk. "But I see he had the company of quite a lady here as well." He added as he glanced at his first lieutenant.
Havoc for some strange reason felt his heart sink at this.
"Sir get to your paper work." A stern reply came.
Or not...
The other guys were as usually teasing him for his bad luck but for once Havoc found that he really didn't care at all. He sat at his desk, laughing the comments of or telling Breda to bugger off as everything seemed to return to normal. The colonel kept on babbling about his new girlfriend (Havoc his ex to be more precise) and for once Havoc had the feeling that maybe, just maybe he had found one jewel in central that his superior wouldn't be able to steal from him.

Authors note:
This is a little one shot/drabble I wrote in 20 minutes or so, I think it turned out pretty good for the time I invested in it. HavocxRiza isn't my favo pairing but I do thing it's cute enough. So what do you people think?
It was a challenge I got at the pairing machine: bitalchemy.tonakaistudio.com/pairingmachine/fma/
I will write a fanfic or drabble with the pairing
