Barry glanced out of the window to where she was pointing. "Tss...I don't think so. Charity shops tend to be slightly smaller than that. They aren't what you could call big business, but they do work hard at trying to raise funds."
He grinned slightly at her enthusiasm. "Take it easy though hun, don't jump of the bus. It'll stop in its time." He gave her hand a light squeeze.
He glanced down the bus again, though the Gangsta Group had clearly forgotten all about them. "Hey...were you ok? Y'know, with them," He jerked his head in the trio's direction. "That was some pretty rough stuff they spewed out on you."

Roze smiled at his response to her teasing. Well, wasn't it just an odd sight, them? An Liorian and the Crimson Alchemist- maybe becoming closer than just friends. Roze nodded to him. "Yeah... I'm now a teacher... Home Ec to middle schoolers." She shook her head again. "Yeah... in order to even become a teacher, you have to have papers and legal documents and stuff- something about preventing 'illegal aliens' or something... Why would they be worried about outer space?" she glanced at him, her face showing she was genuinely confused...

He chuckled at her puzzled look. "Illegal aliens are people from other countries with no citizenship or residency. Like me, and probably most everyone in this house." he explained, "We're illegal aliens. Don't ask me why they call us 'aliens.' Makes no sense to me."
He shot a quick grin her way, "Well, actually most the people in this house qualify if alien means weird and foreign."
He got to his feet and walked to the BBQ. He hummed cheerfully as he flipped the steaks over. He bent forward and inhaled deeply letting out a satisfied sigh. "Damn these things smell good enough to eat!" he chuckled and glanced over his shoulder at her.
He gingerly removed the foil wrapped ears of corn, dropping them in a metal bowl and shaking his burned fingers. "Ow, ow,ow! Hot!"
Sarai
"But Barry, if that's the Jewish temple, then it is where I'm getting my clothes." she said, "Plus I wanted to talk to the rabbi, if you don't mind the time it will take. It shouldn't be long, really."
She smiled warmly when he squeezed her hand, and gently laced her fingers in his, squeezing back.

Dante was still sitting at the kitchen table, casually sipping her coffee. She could see that there was a bit of activity going on around her, but payed it no mind. All the insanity she had gone through had worn her out, so she was in no mood for their nonsense.
Yawning softly, she rose from the table and went over to the counter, pouring herself another cup of coffee. After pouring it, she thought about Martel and her son for a moment. Not only was she still worried about Nikolai's safety, but now she had to deal with the missing Philosopher's Stone.
"What a nightmare..." she muttered, rubbing her temples.

"C'mon, Dahlia" Arden said with a shrug. She started walking towards the house, glancing at her best friend from over her shoulder. "I'm gonna show you how to hack online poker. There's a big game tonight, and I wanna win it".
-----------------------
One of the orderlies from the hospital walked over to Officer Bob and Martel. He glanced at Martel for a second before turning to Bob. "Is this the boy's mother?" he asked the cop.

Dahlia blinked. "Poker...?" she mumbled in confusion. She had no idea what that was, not being nearly as worldly as her friend, but it sounded fun to her, so she decided to go along with it. "Okay!"
--------------------------------
Bob turned to the orderly, nodding in response. "That's right."

"Poker's basically a card game where you win money. Usually you have to be twenty-one or older to play, but I managed to trick the system into allowing me in" Arden explained as they entered the house.
--------------
Martel rose an eyebrow slightly at the young man. What exactly did he want?
"Well, your son is fine....actually I'm more worried about one of the doctors." the orderly laughed slightly, as though what he was talking about was a joke. "Poor guy got bit on the nose when he started taking off the kid's shirt. Well, your son is doing fine, ma'am, though he should probably stay here for a night or two". With that, the black-skinned male walked away.
The snake-chimera sighed slightly. "Really, I shouldn't have ever thought my kids would be anything close to normal" she muttered, referring to the fact that Nikolai had apparently bitten a doctor's nose.

"Ohh...." Dahlia nodded, still barely grasping the concept. She waddled into the house after her friend.
----------------------------------------
Bob smiled at the news. Even though some of the orderlies told him that Nikolai would probably be fine earlier, it was nice to have a confirmation. He chuckled softly when he heard the story. "Well, at least he's well enough to use those chompers of his..."

Roze smiled at Kimblee again, nodding her head to his response. "I... guess that makes sense..." She shook her head, "Does anyone else here have the papers?" she asked him. She wondered if he had dealt with what she did- what with having no birth certificate and all... She watched him cook the Steak, and nodded in agreement. However, when he burnt his hands, she merely giggled at him. He seemed kinda cute when he did things like that, she noticed...

'Hmmm...let's see,' he thought, 'flowers? Earns playful teasing. Burning self with hot corn.. hilarity. Now.. how else could he haplessly injure himself to charm this pretty lady?'
He grinned sheepishly at her and poked his tongue out playfully as he passed her. As he opened the fridge outdoors to retrieve the potato and macaroni salads, his ears pricked up at the words 'gambling' and 'poker.'
"Woah, woah, woah!" he said to the two young kids, "What poker game, where?" "And why do two little kids have any interest in that kind of thing?"
He shook his head incredulously at Roze, "Man, kids these days! They sure don't stay innocent for long. Well, no one can pin this one on me at any rate. If they got corrupted it wasn't by 'yours truly' " he added, almost feeling a need to defend himself. Since he was pretty well known around here for gambling binges, he imagined he might be blamed somehow.

Barry bit the corner of his tongue anxiously. "Woops. Damn, sorry bout that. Well, we passed it, but the bus is stopping in a few secs anyway. It won't take that long to walk back."
Sure enough, the bus slowly slid to a halt, and he carefully let his hand slide out of her grip, sidling through the bus to the door. As he dropped onto the pavement, he glanced down the way they had come, shielding his face from the sun with his hand. Sure enough, it was only a couple of meters.
"Alright, its just down here." He grinned to her as she too exited the bus.

(Haha, Kimblee)
Roze shook her head when she heard the talk of the Poker game. She looked to the man, and agreed with him. "I think it's because of the state of the world; I mean, Edward wasn't innocent for long, due to his need to become a State Alchemist... I guess here, too, the innocence won't last long, what with the advertising and all that..." Wow... Roze looked into this a lot, didn't she? Or at least enough to get herself an idea of what was going on. Roze glanced at the man who was being defensive. "You know... getting defensive makes people wonder what you really are up to..." However, even with that remark, she smiled at him. "You wanna play a game of Poker with me? Without the kids around, in private? I'm sure the two gentlemen over there," she nodded to the two soldiers, "Can look out for the food." She held out her hand to Kimblee, wondering if he would take it, what with his gambling addiction and all...

He looked at her, dumbfounded for a couple of seconds before scratching his head nervously. Suddenly the smell of a well cooked steak was at the bottom of his priority list.
Finally overcoming his shock, he smiled and took her hand. "Little lady.. we can play Old Maid or Go Fish if I can sit across the table and look at you." Not looking away from her for even a second, he speaks to Havoc, "Havoc, watch the steaks, burn the steaks, eat 'em throw 'em away... whatever."
Of course he knew damn right well you couldn't have a decent poker game with only two people, but who gave a flying rats ass about that? He stooped and grabbed a couple beers out of the cooler and asked, with a grin, "So, what are the stakes?...Oh...and what is this strange thing called 'privacy' you speak of?" he chuckled. Good question though. Privacy was practically nonexistent in this place. Always someone barging in somewhere...

Roze looked at Kimblee, actually stunned by his reaction, and shook her head. She didn't figure that he'd not care about food and actually agreed to her request. However, she didn't show it and took his hand. The only thing she showed reaction to was his first remark about what they could play, and that was reacted to with a blush. "Always this charming, Kimblee?" she genuinely asked him. She had never really played poker before, but she had seen it played a few times and she thought she grasped the concept. "Well... we could go to one of the four bedrooms, I guess... I guess that's the best chance we have... And, I don't really have much money at all... And what I do have is to get me to work and back... so do you have any suggestions, Kimblee...?" She felt sort of stupid not having any money, really, but she wanted to do something with him... "Althoguh... I can spare some..."

Sarai
She followed Barry off the bus, only too glad to be away from the strange faces. She saw the temple roof a few blocks away and followed Barry as he led. She clutched her purse tightly, not knowing whether or not they were in a safe part of town.
She marveled at how sloppy the people in this world dressed. And she wondered why people wore shirts with words and pictures on them... often ugly and hateful sentiments, or obvious humor that she didn't quite connect with.
"Barry, why do people have so many names and labels on their clothes and shoes?" she asked, with a puzzled look. "Who is Calvin Klein?"
Kimblee
He couldn't really tell if she was teasing about the charm or not. So far she hadn't slapped him or thrown a drink in his face so he must be doing something right.
The kind of women he was accustomed to in the past required only sending a drink to their end of the bar and about five minutes of shallow, pointless conversation. And he was goddamn sick of that routine, along with waking up to an empty bed and a hangover. Nope... if he wanted a nice girl, he was gonna have to be a nice guy.
He walked into the house with her and up the stairs. "Hang on a sec.." he said, and went to his room. He grabbed the coin jar and his cards off the dresser and was half expecting she'd be gone when he returned. He smiled with some relief to see her still standing there.
"I'd invite you in my room, but it's like a messy footlocker in there." he explained. "Who do you share a room with?"

Barry watched her gazes and smiled slightly at her curiousity. "Well...depends really. Some people think it looks cool, other people do it to give out a message, and most people just do it because everybody else is doing it. Its called fashion. Not many people seem to wear them just for pleasure." He scratched his chin in thought. "Calvin Klein...He's some guy who started a company that ended up getting his name I think. Designs clothes. Even has perfume with his name on it."

Denny and Jean watched, mouths slightly open. And not just because Roze blatantly ignored them, whether out of prejudice due to their old jobs or because they just weren't interesting enough. No, because while she ignored them, she was completely focusing her attention on Kimblee, acting as if he was the greatest being in the house.
As the two wandered off, leaving Jean to attend to the fire and food, his friend returned from a short trip to the fridge with more beer. "Where'd they go?" Genuine curiosity claimed the sergeant's eyes as he looked around. "Inside to play poker." Was he said as he flipped a steak, laughing at Denny's face. "Oh god. That anyone would actually fall for him. Especially someone from Ishbal." He shook his head in disbelief as he sat down, giving no appearance to lend Jean a hand.
Which was just as good, seeing as Denny tended to burn food.

(I laughed so hard from that post, Jean. XD If you want, I wouldn't mind them interrupting- actually, I would expect it. XD) *Roze*
Roze glanced around, following him to the rooms. "Right..." she replied to him asking her to stay there. She waited for him, and he came back with a money jar. She nodded, realizing what he was doing- getting the "chips" to use. When he asked her where she was, she shook her head. "I just got back today... I don't know where they want me to sleep just yet... But we can go in here." she said, opening a random room door to find what appeared to be some kind of closet with a light. "Well... it's private, and we won't disturb anybody... she said, looking back to him to see what he would say.
*Hikari*
Hikari watched the scene from her spot on the wall. She knew Kimblee by rep, but the other girl she didn't know personally. She watched the two talk and then head inside, leaving two soldiers outside. She heard their conversation, and was curious about it- that girl was a Liorian? That was definitely interesting. However, she had something to ask these soldiers. As she approached the fire, she said, "H-hello..." in a rather quiet voice. "B-but... even though this is late, and in case we ever get out of here, I would like to join the State Alchemists, for all its worth in this world... which is where again?" The more she talked, the more confidence showed in her voice, but it wasn't an extraordinary amount, either...

A closet....right. Well, this is weird, he thought. Of course after having spent nearly a decade in prison, he was accustomed to cramped spaces. It was some kind of large, walk-in linen closet he guess. There were stacks of sheets and towels and bathroom supplies.
There was nothing to sit on, and no table, but hey..the floor would do in a pinch. He grabbed a few folded towels and laid a couple on the floor for her. "Can't have you sittin on the hard floor now can I?" he said, "have a seat." He stuffed a couple under his own behind and crossed his legs. His back was gonna be screaming at him later for this.
He emptied the coins on the floor and split it in two piles, pushing half her way. He pulled the cards out of their case and began shuffling and cutting them quickly, like an old pro.

Arden rose an eyebrow slightly and grabbed Dahlia's hand, pulling her upstairs. Once there, she went into one of the rooms and took out a laptop. "Now" the older girl said, openning the laptop and logging in. "Let's get a little bit of money".
---------------------
"Yeah" Martel said with a little half-smile. "I just hope that doctor doesn't take it too personally. My salary wouldn't cover it if the bastard tried to sue me for Nikolai biting him."
