I have read the rules.
Picture: (Not exact.)
Alias: ‘The Thunder Alchemist’
Name: ‘Major’ Seth Tigrine
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Weight: 155
Height: 6’0”
Hair: Red, medium-length, and spiky. He swears he doesn’t style it at all, but it seems to look the same all the time. His favorite thing to do to occupy his hands is to run them through his hair, which resiliently returns to its original shape.
Eyes: Same as the picture.
Personality: Seth is a rather mysterious person. Even with his Major ranking, only a handful of people even know his name. It’s not that he’s trying to keep himself secret, and he does in fact show up in all the ranking and record books. His personality is most likely the thing that keeps others away from him. Seth has a tendency to judge people upon their first few words, if not by their body language, their voice, and the way they look. After this judgment, he will either inform the person about what he thinks of them, or acts upon his thoughts in cold and often cruel ways.
To those that manage to get it out of him, he says the reason for his solitude is that Seth has had a philosophy for quite some time: ‘An opera is more interesting to watch, than to star in.’ He uses that fortune cookie to answer almost any question anyone asks him. He prefers the life of the outsider, and enjoys being the one that watches from the sidelines. Even when one manages to coax him out of his shell, he still remains bitingly sarcastic and cynical. The only time he ever drops his rude attitude is when he is being treated to food, especially cheesecake. Still, he does believe that some people are worth talking to, and as such isn’t completely anti-social. The Thunder Alchemist also tends to stare at people or things for long periods of time. His eyes often frequent the chests or behinds of women, which he often gets in trouble for. His excuse: “It’s really a compliment!” He is often very flattering with the fairer sex as well. Seth usually never announces his title or alias to anyone, because he feels that they are stupid. This is because he is obsessed with the way things sound, and being unique. His name and alias don’t ring, so he doesn’t say them. Tying in to this, he hates loud people and things. The majority of the Major’s effort is used trying not to be loud or noticeable, contrary to his alchemy.
Physical Description: Standing at 6’0” and 155 pounds, Seth looks like a very average person. In fact, if it wasn’t for his clothes, he wouldn’t stand out at all. His State Alchemist outfit is the same as any other, decorated with some gold pins and buttons. It isn’t that important to him, and he in fact remarks that he hates the outfit. Seth often wears a gold-colored headband, with a diamond shaped ruby sticking out of it. He wears two distinct gloves as well. One is yellow, while the other is red. The yellow glove as a diamond shaped piece of gold jutting out of it, and the red with a ruby in it. Both gloves have Alchemy circles on their palms. He wears black shoes, which are always perfectly clean. Seth has a tobacco pipe, made of gold and ivory. Both materials twist around the pipe, not allowing a part of it to be made of just one material. On the left side, a red, serpentine dragon comes from the end of the pipe, and the dragon is mimicked on the other side, but in white. When he is smoking, it looks like two dragons are coming from his mouth; these dragons, along with his gloves symbolize his alchemy. Accompanying the pipe is a gold lighter, and a small pouch of tobacco. His pocket watch is strangely gold as well. These are all products of his need to be unique.
History: Seth was born in a small town to the southeast of Central. It was a town that depended heavily on the river flowing through it, the Grand Leo. Its floods depended upon the rainfall of that year, and the agriculture depended on the floods. Thusly, Seth’s mother was the town’s savior when she moved to the Leisna village. She was an expert in meteorology and geology, and helped predict when it would rain, and then when and to what extent it would flood. Eventually, the burden had become too much for her. With the village being a few hours walk away from central, she naturally went there to seek the help of an Alchemist. There she fell in love with an unranked alchemist. He returned with her and led the village into an age of prosperity. Seth was born to them, and early on took a great interest in both of their fields, though was unusually quiet. When asked by the two of them at age 10 what he would grow up to be, he simply said, “Both.” So he took a few trips with his Father to Central. At age 18, he was accepted as a State Alchemist based upon his tremendous skill in the previously unmanned field of ‘Thunder Alchemy’. His father made special gloves to amplify his son’s art. He did serve in Ishbal during the Rebellion, but only stayed there for 5 months before leaving. How he managed to squirm out of his assignment, but he had a knack for it all of his life. At age 20, he was promoted to the title Major. His title of ‘Thunder Alchemist’ was given during the demonstration part of the exam, and was/is known by extremely knowledgeable people only. Seth continued to be an enigma throughout his career, but his talent and potential made the State incapable of dropping him from the program.
Alchemy: Seth Tigrine specializes in Thunder Alchemy, which is separated into two parts. The first part is really Flame Alchemy: he heats the air around the desired location, and secondly expands the air to make the rumbling sound of thunder. When focused loosely in the area around a person, the vibrations hurt the eardrums and in high doses (with high power), shakes the brain inside the skull and causes paralysis. This process takes a long time, and has more practical application than battle usages. In battle, his Thunder Alchemy uses the same technique, but much faster. Instead of focusing on the air around his opponent, he uses the same steps on a small pocket of air close to him and condenses it into a ball. If one focuses they can hear it’s whirling and see the wind swirling next to his hand. He flings it an opponent in a style of his choice, usually a careless flick of the wrist or finger, the ball is sent flying very quickly. Heating it up on the way there, the air gains an explosive property. The ball uncondenses, and an invisible explosion of thunder occurs. The sound is loud and reverberates for quite a long way. A strong explosion can shatter bones and damage organs, and can blow a person into a solid object. The ball can be thrown at an oncoming attack to block it, as well as being used in his palm in hand to hand style. The red glove amplifies the heating of the air, while the yellow corresponds to the sound and air element of it. This art is comparable to that of Roy Mustang, but is in fact slower, more complicated, and requires two gloves to be effective. Still an imperfect art.
-Big Bang Style-(From Tai Sky/Pride)
"My thought was that you could wear a type of steel gauntlet on each of your wrists (small, so they aren't too heavy) and they help amplify electronic atoms of positive and negative energy. By rearranging the mass of positive and negative atoms in the air, you can efectivly create a chain reaction in the air with a single spark. The gauntlets will be attached to special cloth gloves you wear that, when rubbed together, takes the gauntlets' power, amplifies the spark, then BOOM! Instant lightning!" Seth carries these gauntlets around in his jacket pocket, and only uses them when he is fighting an especially gifted opponent. This is an even less balanced art, as he has had less time to research it: though it is faster and stronger, as well as has greater potential.
--SAMPLE ROLEPLAY—
-(From a Bleach RP, if unacceptable I will change.)
Seishuku rolled across the ground from the force applied by Hitsugaya’s sword. He was really offensive minded with his sword. “Tch that simple attack knocked you down? You aren’t worth my time, so I’ll end this quickly. Soar into the frozen sky, Hyorinmaru!” He announced proudly and Seishuku prepared himself for his former Captain’s Shikai. As the ice dragon was released, Seishuku flashed back to that day he saw the same dragon. But now, when he turned back, Urufa was there. Now he knew what to do. “Kouro Honpou, Rui-Urufa!” He exclaimed, as the claws formed around his hands and feet. As Hyorinmaru closed in on him, Seishuku raised a claw. Hyorinmaru struck the claw, and the entire dragon was absorbed. “How?!” Hitsugaya asked, mystified at Seishuku’s ability. “I can absorb Hyorinmaru with my claws. But I’m tired of talking.” Seishuku used Shunpo, a move he shouldn’t be able to do. He appeared behind a surprised Hitsugaya and rushed him with a flurry of attacks, which the Squad 10 Captain deflected with his blade.
Seishuku leapt back and heard the familiar name ‘Hyorinmaru’. Again, Seishuku put up a claw to absorb Hyorinmaru. He did, but he felt a strong chill on his arm. True enough, his entire forearm was frozen. He scowled at it, and then leapt towards his opponent, swinging his frozen arm. “Raishuu!” He commanded, and a wolf with some of the absorbed spiritual power was flung at his opponent. It narrowly missed, but cut up the right side of his opponent’s robe. Hitsugaya rushed forward, and again Hyorinmaru rushed him. Seishuku absorbed it, but he felt the chain on the end of Hitsugaya’s sword wrap around his leg, and Seishuku’s leg was instantly frozen. “Sorry, but the same trick won’t work all the time.” “Your trick won't work Seishuku responded. “I know. So here’s a new one. Bankai.” Seishuku shook at the word. Hitsugaya’s Bankai would be truly powerful.
Wings spouted from his back, and then a tail as well. His arms were covered by a claw and dragon head, as he stood looking magnificent. “Daiguren Hyorinmaru. Now stand still. Ryûsenka.”
The dragon-like figure rushed at him, his blade extended, ready to pierce and freeze Seishuku. “I guess it can’t be helped. Bankai.” Seishuku stated, as giant gates covered him, Hitsugaya stopped in his tracks. The youngest captain could hear the demonic sounds and barking coming from either side of him. Now the gates creaked open, and then swiftly flew open the last half. A giant burst of fire came from the gates, as the surrounding area was set aflame. A giant paw emerged from the gates and stomped to the earth a voice came from inside the gates, “Mi-Hitsu Urufa Kisaki.”. And a loud roar was heard for miles around, as the real fire vs. ice battle had just begun.
