Alias: N/A
Name: Krystal Hikari
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Weight: 105 lbs
Height: 4'10"
Hair: White
Eyes: Red
Personality:
Krystal isn't one that you'd think to talk to, due to her rather odd appearance. That by itself has made her more of a loner, but not entirely by choice. She'd love to have friends, but at the same time, she's scared of them. She's scared that she might lose them for some reason or another, and be hurt by it, so the friends she does make she makes sure she doesn't lose. She generally is a quieter person- not shy, perse, but she doesn't talk much to people she doesn't know nevertheless. When she does speak, it's a little louder than a whisper, so it isn't the loudest, but it still isn't entirely unhearable either. Like Greed, once her mind is set on something, it's not going to be changed easily. The only real way to change her mind is to show her that she is, without a doubt, wrong, and somehow prove it. She wants to join the State Alchemists, so she isn't entirely afraid of them, but she also wants to be friends with others, especially the Ishballans and Letonians, as she calls them. She will disobey direct orders she feels are unjust, unless a reason can be presented that shows that it indeed is just. She doesn't believe in taking people's lives unless it is absolutely necessary... and even then, she feels shame and regret for it. She is extremely curious, though, and likes to try new things quite often. Whether they are dangerous or not is another story altogether. She mainly wants to join the State Alchemists for the information they have...
Physical Description:
Krystal has a rather odd appearance: she has red eyes that look like blood is inside them, and snow white hair. Her body is somewhat slim, probably due to undereating. Her Hair goes down to the middle of her back, but even though she might seem intimidating, she also somehow holds an innocent look to her as well. Krystal isn't that strong in fist fighting, but she can move quickly outrunning most ordinary people, and sometimes even outrunning those that practice for a long time- mainly because she practices, too.
History (Also explains her new alchemy style):
Krystal used to live a normal life around Alchemy. Her parents were engrossed in a new type of alchemy, one that hadn't been seen before. Krystal herself had been involved with it, too, helping her parents research a way to use this new alchemy. However, something went wrong in an experiment when she was thirteen. The failed experiment killed her parents, forcing her to live on her own. Krystal didn't know what to do, so she immersed herself in the research her parents were doing.
They hadn't named it yet, so Krystal dubbed it, "Runology," since it dealt with symbols called "Runes." She had studied Alchemy as well to help with the research, and found that these "Runes" were much like the Alchemical circles that she found in the books- except these allowed many things to happen within a certain element. Pouring over the research books, she found that only certain elements could be invoked with these "Runes," and for each element, a new "Rune" was needed somewhere nearby. She also found that certain runes were declared to be a "taboo" by her parents... and she found out that they tried to use them anyway... and that's what killed them. She also found that the bigger the rune, the more power and potency the Runology Alchemy would have. This wasn't a power to transmute like traditional alchemy. Instead, it tapped into the elements themselves. To sate the law of Equivalent Exchange, the user's life force was traded to use Runology. The stronger the Runology, the more life force was needed. In that respect, it was possible to kill yourself if you used too much Runology at once. She found that one eight-hour rest period allowed you to recover half of your available "Runologic Power", as her parents dubbed it.
Having all she needed to know, she decided to try and join the State Alchemists. She knew most of what "Runology" was, since she had experimented herself in the last two years. She had a Ice rune plastered onto her back, made by someone else who followed her design exactly... she had seen to that. She even had a minor fire rune she herself made on the back of her right hand. Now, she left her fate up for grabs... but even if she wasn't accepted as a State Alchemist, she would still find her answers... even if it meant going on the other side of the law.
Other:
Some people (who have seen Runology) liken it to Scar's Array on his arm... but then again, not many people have seen both.
