The low echo of her heels against the stone floor reverberated from the walls around her, as she quietly made her way through the lab.
It had been the usual check-up, to make sure Tucker was doing EXACTLY as he was ordered to, and nothing more.
Sure, she had noticed he seemed to be fiddling with some experiment of his own, but when the matter was explained to her she understood.
Well, might as well just let him. Not that his little girl is EVER going to come back...
A small smirk played at her lips, as she daintily avoided stepping on an animal skull which was lying partly cracked on the floor.
She had quickly checked on Greed as well, to make sure he was still as safely bound by his human remains as he had been years ago.
He seemed to be slightly conscious when she checked, but was clearly too groggy to notice he was being watched.
Now all she needed was to get out of this place...
Suddenly, a strong arm gripped her around the neck, the low 'shiiink' of a blade being drawn accompanied soon after.
She reacted as soon as she realized she was being assaulted, kicking out with inhuman strength and scratching her heels down the attackers leg to stamp on his foot.
A confused grunt could be heard, but otherwise the attacker didn't react.
"Let go of me you piece of filth." She hissed venomously, preparing to cut him apart with her talons.
A startled yelp could be heard, and the attacker immediately let go.
She turned in surprise, and then chuckled in amusement.
"I see. Well, nice to know you're still doing your job Warrior. Just remember to check who you're attacking next time."
Slicer shifted awkwardly staring at his feet in embarrassment.
"My apologies. As you gathered, I merely thought you were an intruder."
"No matter, it is an easy mistake to make."
She watched him in light puzzlement.
"Are you alone?"
"Yes."
"And your sibling?"
"With the others."
She frowned.
"Is that so?"
"...I'm taking guard duty. Gives one the chance to think things over without others butting in."
She raised her eye-brows. "I see."
In the silence that followed she followed his actions like a hawk.
It amused her to see how jittery he was becoming, shifting his weight frequently and glancing everywhere but at her.
She was used to males acting up whenever she was near, it could be both a pain and a useful quality, it depended on the situation.
HE was normally particularly uneasy around her, on the few occasions she took her monthly inspection of the lab as ordered by Dante.
On some occasions it were the others she met, and other times again he had nearly always been alone.
She smirked, nearly chuckling out loud as his eyes darted away from her yet again.
It was always boring to visit the lab. Maybe this time she could turn the situation to her advantage and entertainment.
He's like a startled faun. I wonder how he'd react if I gave the situation a small...twist?
After a few more seconds he noticed that he was still holding his sword, and he sheathed it, fumbling slightly.
"Well...I-I really must be going." He mumbled.
"Once again, I apologize for the inconvi-"
With a flash, she moved closer, a demonic gleam in her eyes.
His eyes widened in shock, desperately trying to draw his sword in the belief that she was about to attack him.
Before he could do so however, she had revealed her talons and
quickly sliced the small leather strip holding it in place, so it clattered to the floor.
He glanced frantically at the sword, automatically backing up but only succeeding in slamming into the pillar directly behind him.
She followed him, her claws still long, moving smoothly and quickly.
He quickly tried to edge around the pillar, getting away from her,
but she shot out her talons and they immediately pierced his shoulders, pinning him into place.
She wrapped her free arm around his chest, nearly bursting with mirth at the look of horror in his blue orbs, and with quick adept movements she undid the cloth shielding the lower part of his helmet, and kissed him.
The sharp cold taste of metal stung in her mouth, but even though it was foreign it was not unpleasant.
Its nearly like blood. Just ice cold.
His eyes widened in complete shock, and then they reduced to slits, whether in pained terror-or maybe bliss?-she couldn't tell.
She still kept him in a firm grip, her left arm still holding his pierced shoulder in place, waiting for him to succumb.
Then she felt his hesitant touch, as he ever so slowly wrapped his arms around her waist, though lightly.
She was surprised by this, and that he didn't immediately grope for her other parts as any other man would have done.
She felt him pull her-well, more like a soft questioning tug-and she responded by moving closer to him, retracting her talons and wrapping her arms around his neck instead.
After a few more seconds, she broke the kiss.
He immediately let go of her, allowing her to tread back and view his reaction.
He stood limply, gazing at the floor with what might have been a hollow expression.
She smirked. She knew he wouldn't have been a hard nut to crack in the first place.
With slow movements he reached up and fastened the cloth around his face again, once more keeping the lower part hidden from view.
He did this without sending her a single glance, as though she didn't exist, and what had just happened never had been.
As he bent down to pick up his sword, she turned her back on him and walked away.
"Till next time Warrior." She said with an amused chuckle, lifting her hand in greeting.
After a few steps she turned, and saw that he had slipped into the shadows.
As she made her way out of the lab, a few thoughts began to bother her.
Of course it had been nothing serious, just a mere experiment, she was curious.
She had seduced countless of men, whether because of a mission or just for mere play didn't matter.
But he...he was one of the first who had been remotely frightened of the prospect of her approaching him in that matter.
She had realized some time ago that he had grown a weakness towards her, and she had just used it to her own benefit. Hadn't she?
She remembered his cautious touch, how hesitant and careful his movements were, as though to avoid breaching her.
It confused her. Since when had men ever been respectful? They were soulless bastards who succumbed to their carnal needs whenever possible.
Why did he act different.
Then it suddenly dawned on her.
He was numb...he couldn't feel anything. The kiss she had given him had probably only been registered because he had seen it.
But then why...had he responded?
Why hadn't he just pushed her away or waited in silence for her to finish?
She shook her head, her face burning with a slight flush.
These were thoughts she didn't understand...things she couldn't comprehend.
She would think no more about it.
