Haley and Ed both stood at their guards against the creature. They both readied themselves for battle. Haley wielded her sword and Ed turned his automail arm into his own sword.
Ed decided to only make a move if the creature made a move, so he waited.

((I don't have to play the monsters all the time, as
Hikari glanced at the new man that they had picked up- he seemed a bit... too enjoying to be realistic. Maybe he was just hiding his fears...? she pondered, but he seemed to be too... maniacal to be just faking it... Shaking her head, she noticed Ed and the female getting swords ready. She said, "I wouldn't wait if I were you..." as she noticed what seemed to be an array on one of the zombie's hands starting to glow. Quickly, she activated one of her runes, and shot a fireball out at the zombie, blowing through the shoulder area and decapitating the arm that the zombie was about to use, rendering it and the array useless. Screaming in agony, the zombie started to wander, quite quickly, towards the group...

Roze turned around as she heard a female's voice. "I don't know if we're the only ones though... I haven't seen anybody else... besides us and the military man..." she nodded at Denny. "I'm fine..." she turned back to the man, before hearing a demonic-sounding hiss. "D-did you hear that...?" she asked them, before turning around, and spotting a red colour in the alleyway next to them, that looked like fire. "And... what is that..." she asked, pointing at the light...

Denny regarding both women as he walked closer, both seeming in good condition, a little worn out, but not wounded. That was good.
The blonde soldier opened his mouth, willing to divulge the location of the base he'd just left, for it was also a shelter for civilians. Though, if able-bodied, the civilians would be expected to take up arms and defend the place should an attack ensue.
However, the words never came out as a strange, yet recently familiar sound crossed his ears.
Snapping his head around, he saw where Roze was pointing and didn't waste time yelling. He grabbed both the women and pulled them towards him, just as the ball of lightning shot past him, his hair reacting to the electric charge.
The sergeant allowed himself one breath before pulling the nozzle of his gun up. The creature, it's big ugly eye focussed solely on him now, rushed forward, seemingly upset at having lost it's easy kill, it's mouth open wide as it did.
The area rang with the gunshot, only to be dominated by the gurgling moans as the wretched thing popped in a rather sickly way, blue ooze flying everywhere.
A big wad landed just a foot away from Denny, the man's lip curled up slightly at the sight.
"I hate those things." He muttered taking a step back before turning to the civilians with a worried look "Are you two okay?"
