Winrey woke up to a beautiful day, the sun shining through her window gave her room a pleasant feeling.
Winrey looked out side and thought to her self.
I wonder how Ed and Al are doing. It's been so long since I have seen them . I miss them. She sighs to herself
I wish they would come back for a visit. I am sure Ed's automail could use a good tune up. Knowing him he is probably bring reckless and isn't taking proper care of it. That Ed
She rolls her eyes and laughs to herself. Then a serious expression plays across her face as she thinks. They are so set on finding the philosopher's stone which is so dangerous. It worries me just thinking about all the things they could encounter with that quest. I just hope they are being careful and are safe.

Ed walked through the city with the biggest smile on his face. Though he had not forgotten about Al, he was just thinking how silly he was to worry about Al when he was probably safe and warm. Not to mention in the company of Winrey. He waved to old friends and made his way to Winrey's house. He knocked on the door a few times and then slowly opened it, "Winrey? You in here?" He yelled.

She was shocked to here his voice. No way, that can't be him! She ran to front room to see him standing in her front door. "Ed!"She ran up to him and gave him a big hug.
"Ed I can't believe your back! Why didn't you write me and tell me you were coming back here?" As she hugged him she noticed his automail was in bad shape. She broke the hug and started examining his auto mail arm. "Ed, look at this thing, its a mess." She grabbed wrench and started tightening the bolts on his automail. "You need to take better care of it." she scolded him.

Ed was happy to see his oldest and dearest friend, aside from Al of course. He was surprised by the first hug, but he was happy at the same time. At the second hug he blushed a little. she smells good he thought.

When Winrey grabbed his arm he had a sheepish smile. "I know! But, well, things get hard sometimes." He said while he thought, Typical Winrey. As Winrey worked on his Automail arm he looked around, "Winrey, have you seen Al?"

Winrey had set the wrench down and had grabbed an oil can to start oiling the joints on Ed's automail when Ed asked his question. It startled her a little. Why would he ask me that? Then she realized that Al didn't come with Ed.
She gave Ed a confused look. "No, I thought he was with you looking for the philosopher stone. Did something happen that caused you guys to get separated? "
Where is Al and why isn't he by Ed's side? This is weird. He never went off on his own, even when we were kids. Oh I hope Al is okay.

A look of dread spread through Ed's face. "There was a storm...we got seperated. I have spent the past two days looking for him. We were close by, and I thought he may have found Risembool and come here." He said looking at Winrey. Al, where are you? He thought.

Ed stood up and walked back to the door. "If you are done, I am going back out there to find him." Ed said as he rushed to the door. "The automail seems to work better, thanks Winrey." He managed a smile with a wink. "But you understand I have to leave." He finished now with a serious look.

"Oh, Ed!" she gasped as Ed explained what happened. The poor thing, I can tell just by looking at him how worried he is about Al
"You go ahead and go look for him. I understand how important it is to find him." She gave him one more hug. "Just be careful. "
A smile played across he face as she added "And take care of that automail, I don't want to see it in that bad of shape ever again. she winked at him.

Ed smiled at her sheepishly, again, "I'll take good care of it!" He said to her. He started out the door and stopped suddenly. He turned to Winrey and looked at her for a few seconds. I don't want to go alone, Winrey. He attempted to say out loud, but he just couldn't seem to get it out. He smiled again and turned away. Slowly he stepped forward, hoping she would come with him. Just tag along for this journey of finding Al.

Winrey didn't want to see him walk out that door again. She didn't want to miss her best friend. She wanted to go with him. And the look in his eyes said the same thing but she knew his lips would never speak it. She knew it was up to her.
"Ed wait! Ya know your auto mail would work better if you had someone to tighten those bolts up for you everyday. And I know Al probably couldn't do it in that suit of his and you wouldn't be able tighten the bolts on your arm. So maybe I could come with you so I can keep your auto mail in perfect working order. Besides it saves you a trip, instead of having to travel back here to visit me when ever there is a problem with it."

Ed didn't turn around to face her, he didn't want to see the relieving smile on his face. Thank you, Winrey... He thought as he shook his head. "Well, if that is what you want..." He said with a sigh. He started walking again. "Are you coming Winrey?" He called to her as he walked.

Happiness filled Winery's heart. She was so happy he was letting her come along but she didn't want Ed to know that so she tried to compose her self as much as possible.
"Sure, Ed. Let me just grab my tools. With how reckless you are with your automail, I need to be prepared." she said with a laugh.
She zipped up her bag. "There, I am already to go."
She slung her bag on her shoulder and ran out the door to catch up with Ed.
A little smile played it's way across her lips and she hid it from Ed as she thought.This is how it's supposed to be.
