After a little walk the little chimera and crazy alchemist had found a bar that was decent and at the same time far enough of the Devils Nest for some privacy and close enough if they needed to hurry back.
Both were now seated at a small table in front of the bar (Bido had insisted on the sun shine rather than the dark inside of the bar). As the waiter came Bido made a quick order for his drink.
"Are you actually still in the military?" Bido asked out of the blue, deciding it was time to start a conversation that got right to the point.

"Actually, I'm thinking about going AWOL Bido." he answered, "You know, I actually only left the Devil's Nest because I thought Archer had a 'bigger better deal' to offer."
He ordered a whiskey and beer chaser and continued, "Truth be told, Archer keeps me on a tighter leash than Greed ever did. And I hate being kept on a leash. And I don't appreciate how Envy just ran roughshod over my plans for Barry either. I did my part by making that stone for him, end of story. Life goes on."

"Seems the grass isn't always greener in someone else's lawn mhhh?" Bido pointed out. "But at least you're free now." He added as he shrugged as the bartender brought them their orders. "You can leave when you want no? And even if you can't I doubt a rule would stop you from doing so." Truth be told it wa something that Bido rather envied with the alchemist, the ability to do what he wanted. Withouth having to consider much concequences. Just be free to do as pleased.

"Yup.." he said as he downed the rest of his beer, holding a finger up to order another, "that's about the gist of it."
"I don't think Archer would be too thrilled about me leaving the military. After all, I'm his best weapon." he continued, "He could hunt me down and have me tossed back into a cell any time he wanted if he got a hair up his ass. But he'll have to catch me first."
"I pity any poor sod he sends after me, if he does."

"That wouldn't be really nice." Bido commented lightly as he took a sip of his drink.
"How is it?" The chimera than asked bluntly.

"Huh? How is what?" he asked the little chimera. He pushed his half empty beer glass away and ordered some sandwiches and onion rings for the two of them.
"Hope you don't mind," he said, "i took the liberty of getting you a bite to eat too."

"No, no that's fine." Bido waved it off.
"I mean how is it like to be able to do what you want when you want without having to worry? You can just go around and don't have to take shit from no-one. You seem imuum for every possible hurtful comment. You just go around doing as you want. How is it to be limitless free?" The chimera repeated his question. It had been something stuck in his curious mind for a while now.

He pondered the question quietly, sipping at his beer as he stared at nothing. "I dunno, Bido." he answered, finally. "Don't get me wrong, I ain't immune from everything. Not like you'd think. I just don't let it show much."
"I guess I just hope for the best and expect the worst. I'm always prepared that way." he added, "But yeah... freedom is great. When you can get it. I actually liked the military well enough before I got thrown in the can. Prison does things to a guy, Bido."
"Say...what's on your mind there buddy?" he asked, "You thinkin about striking out on your own too?"

"You say it as if something's bothering you at the moment as well." Bido said, it was as much as an invitation to talk about it.
"Don't we all." The chimera added on the hope and fear subject. "And I know. After all been there done that. I was a soldier too before we got stuck in the labs."
As Kimblee started with the suspiciouns Bido for once looked thoughtful instead of denying it straight away. "I just wondered." He said eventually. "Beside even if I did consider i it's not like it's possible anyway."

"What are you talking about Bido?" he asked, "You're free to come and go as you please. At least you don't gotta be looking over your shoulder for someone to throw you back in a cell."
"You having problems at the nest or something?" he prodded. Bido was being his usual dodgy self, "Why are you being so cagey about this? It's not like anyone's here to tattle on you for speaking up."

"Or that's what you think." The chimera shook his head. "You know we still are escaped expierements. Just a few days ago Bradley raided the Nest. Our life means less than nothing to most soldiers. Or it freaks people out. Seriously why do you think I have to wear a cap and hide my tail most of the time? People throw a fit when they see it or freak out calling me a freak of nature."
The chimera calmed himself again as he emptied his glass. "At least the most of the other chimera's look normal, they can blend in. I've got no problems with what I am but other always seem to do so. Truth is I might be out of the labs but it's just a bigger cage. I'm still stuck at one place. If I left the Nest and mister Greed I'd be stuck living alone as a beggar or thief, hiding in dark places all the time as an out law. And it sounds little appealing to me. At least now I have a house where I can live and friends and people to talk to. " The chimera admitted. "Don't get me wrong I like the Nest, I love my old friends we've been through hell and back together and I am grateful for what mister Greed did for us but is wanting more making me ungrateful? After being stuck in a cage for 14 damn years I want to get out, I want to see if the world changed."

"Wow...you sound like you've had all this shit piling up on you for awhile!" he said, surprised at the sudden outburst of frustration.
"Bido...why don't you just come along with me and Barry?" he asked, "If anyone wants to mess with you, they'll have to go through me first."
"Seriously, Bido!" he added with a furrowed brow, "You think I'm gonna let you walk around homeless and friendless?"

"That'll be ungrateful to mister Greed. Beside I'd only be a burden to you. I'm nearly no use anyway. The only thing I can do is up the wall." Yet the chimera couldn't help but wonder how it'll be if he took the offer the alchemist just made him. He'd be travelling all the time than. And he would get out of the full time gloomy places probably. And there was no doubt it would involve enough action and adventure to. Thinking about it wouldn't hurt anyone.

"Ungrateful.." he snorted derisively, "Get real, Bido... Greed's only concern is what Greed wants and what Greed needs...which, for him, is the same thing."
"It's your call though, bud." he said as he finished his beer, setting the glass on the bar. "You can't sit around waiting for other people to think of your best interests. A person can waste their whole life an then die waiting on something like that. And get nothin to show for it."
"Life's too short, Bido.. come with me and have a 'blast'!" he laughed, the beer starting to go to his head.

The gecko chimera looked down for a moment. The alchemist did mae a good point. It was painful but true, and very tempting. "Let me think it over for a little while." Bido said eventually.

Roze glanced to where the two men went, and didn't look surprised at their choice- a bar and grille. She entered, and sure enough, she drew stares from a lot of people. Her hair was the main draw- she didn't look like she belonged there with her pink and red hair, but how could she help it? She looked around the place before spotting the two men, and sitting down in a seat behind Kimblee, but facing them. She heard them speak, and shook her head. She didn't know the limits that wree placed on either of them, but she knew the pain of losing a home- or two. She stood finally, after Bido said that he'd be ungrateful, and walked the short distance to be in the middle of their table. "May I join? she asked the two, and smiled. "I overheard some of what you said... and I have to say... if you go on an adventure, you can find a secondary place to stay, if the first falls apart... I didn't do that, and as a result... I had no place to go back to..." She tried to look like it was behind her, but her tone and her eyes said that she was still saddened and scared of what she saw happen to Liore...

"Well hey there, pretty lady!" he said, "I was wonderin if you was gonna join us."
He felt a bit fidgety and uncomfortable about the fact that he'd been the direct cause of her current situation. But at least she seemed to be coming around after the long desert ride.
"What would you like to drink, Roze?" he asked.
He then turned his attention back to Bido. "You do that, Bido. I promise I wont have you running useless errands like Greed had us doing...you know...like tossing pebbles to explode in front of the shorty. Remember that?" he chuckled.

Bido blinked as suddenly Roze joined them again, before he pulled his cap up a little more, it was a habit by now. “Eaves dropping isn’t nice.” The chimera said. He did it all the time true but it was the habit of his old job. “Our situations can’t be compared.” Bido stated bluntly as it wasn’t hard to guess what Roze was thinking. Next they were inturrupted by the waiter who brought the two sandwichs that the alchemist had ordered earlier. "Yeah I remember that." Bido added to Kimblee as he took a look at a sandwich. "But at least that went better then the HQ Thing."

Roze looked at Bido apologetically. "I was going to say hi earlier, but I didn't want to interrupt your talks... And I guess the so-called benefit of that is that I overheard your conversation..." When Bido went on, she smiled at him. "Maybe not... but you can't say that what I say isn't true..." She looked down before sitting next to Kimblee. "And I know you're not an entire human... But I still consider you a human, since you act, for the most part, how a human would act. And that's good enough for me, to consider you a human..." she paused, remembering what the older Elric had said. "Kimblee... I think I have something to say to you. It may seem random now, but I think it deals good to you, as it did for me..."
She took a breath before saying, "Keep moving forward... you got a fine pair of legs, don't you? Find your own path to travel down..." She smiled a sad smile, one that showed a bittersweet memory. "I was told that... by a friend once. I think... I understand what he means now..." That's when she remembered Kimblee asked her what she wanted to drink, and saw the two sandwiches come up. "I'd like a glass of finely diluted red wine, if permissible." It was what she drank in Lior- she took wine from the Wine Fountain and diluted it herself... "And may I have a vegetable salad?" she smiled sweetly at the waitress, trying to hide what she was thinking of moments before. The waitress nodded and moved off to get her order, and she turned her attention back to the two men. She had been too involved in ordering to hear what they were talking about, but she knew they were talking about something...

“I don’t need anyone else’s opinion on that subject.” The chimera said as he automatically went defensive. He last thing he needed was such a comment from a strange, not right now. It would make him go back in his Devils Nest cocoon. He was having enough moral twists as it was right now. He didn’t needed other people to get into his head as well. After all it was a big decision and he didn't felt comfortable talking about it to a stranger.
