Who let the dogs out?!

[Chip]

Black Hayate explored the streets of Central, his nose hunting for a familiar scent. He had tracked Ed and Winrey's scents for a while but had lost them in a large crowd of people. Then he had been distracted by the aroma of roasted duck. The dog had sat outside a restaurant window for a good half hour before a customer leaving with leftovers had shared them with Hayate.
"Enjoy the doggybag!" the person had joked, walking off. And Hayate had, but now he was back to his search for any military personnel.

[Chip]

The dog found his way to another neighborhood and a little girl spotted him. She ran at him and the two began to play. Suddenly the girl's mother appeared.
"Mommy! look a puppy!" cheered the little girl. "Can we keep him?"
Hayate wagged his tail at the mother.
"No! Get away from it! It could have rabies!" the mother grabbed the little girl and dragged her away.
"But mom! What about the puppy!"
Braha watched the humans leave, his ears drooping. He walked off sadly, and ended up lost in the slum streets of Central. He wandered into an alley and sniffed around a trashcan with the scent of fish on it. The dog knocked over the trashcan and was about to investigate when a street dog appeared. It growled menicingly, threatening him to leave or die. Hayate started to back away, his tail between his legs, but the dog decided to attack anyway.
The two dogs fought, and Black Hayate was severely injured. ((Hmm, first Kouga, now Hayate.)) The only reason Hayate survived the confrontation was because someone opened a window, yelled at them to knock it off, and hit the aggressive dog with a shoe. Braha took his chance and ran out of the alley, limping.

Hayate finally collapsed on the ground, unable to go on. The dog whimpered. This was a bad idea. Next time I'm staying in the house. He stayed laying on the ground, hoping someone would find him.

Winrey and Al walked along the sidewalk searching the bushes and alleys along the way. "Hayate! Hayate where are ya boy."
Where is that puppy. Riza is going to be mad if we don't find him.

[Chip]

As Hayate laid on the ground, he though he heard someone in the distance, someone familiar. He lifted his head to try to look around, but felt too weak to keep it up. He let out a small puppy yip before his head hit the concrete again.

[AG]

AL

Al followed Winrey out into the now dark streets of central. He worried about the puppy, granted he was nothing compared to a kitten, but he was still worried. "Winrey, I think I see something over there." He said as his large metal hand pointed to a breathing black furball.

[emelie]

She ran over to where Al had pointed and gasped when she got close. "Al, it's Hayate, but he looks in bad shape. Look at all those bite marks and his leg. It looks like it may be broken. Al I don't think we should move him. I think we need to get some help."
Hold on little puppy.

[AG]

ALPHONSE

Al followed Winrey as she ran to the little puppy. He nodded as she told him to get help. "Winrey, I will stay with the puppy. Go to Ed, get him to come here with someone that may help." He told her as he took off his chest plate and covered the puppy. "That should keep him safe enough, if I sit here people will think I am a pile of junk." He said to her. He sat down on the ground, "Go..." he whispered to her. He drooped his head and looked lifeless.

[Chip]

Hayate looked up at Winrey and Al when the had found him. He weakly licked the girl's finger just before Al had protected him with the chest plate, making it so he couldn't see. He sat in the darkness, relieved someone had found him. Riza's going to be disappointed in me. he beat himself up mentally. I could never be an army dog if I couldn't take on some stray. He sat with his thoughts, hoping Riza could forgive him.

((I didn't know Hayate had inner conflicts! XD I think I've taken his character to a whole new level))

"Okay Al." She looked at the down at the little puppy licking her fingers. She very gently petted the puppy fighting back the desire to scoop him up in her arms and cuddle him."It's going to be okay boy, I will be back with some one to help you."
She ran back to Tucker's house.
((I want to cuddle Hayate. The poor thing))

EDWARD

Ed ran to where he saw Al looking lifeless. "Al!" He called out thinking that something had happened to him. "Al, are you ok?" He asked frantically. He turned to Winrey, "What happened to Al?" He asked Winrey in a blaming attitude.

[Chip]

Black Hayate could hear Ed's voice and wagged his tail weakly. It made a thump thump thump noise, echoing because of Al's chest plate. Hopefully Full Metal will be able to help. Maybe he can convince Riza not to disown me. He shifted, and a bolt of pain shot up his leg. The puppy let out a high, pained whimper.

[AG]

EDWARD

The whimper caught Ed's attention. He lifted the chest plate reveling the little black and white puppy. He wanted to be happy he found him, he also wanted to help him. Though he was worried that Al still hadn't replied to him. Plus he still wanted answers, "Winry, what happened?" He asked her.

"I don't know Ed.I really don't know. Al and I found him like this. We need to do something for him, he looks like he is allot of pain." She looked at him with concern on her face.

[AG]

ED

"I am not talking about the dog! I am talking about Al!" He exclaimed. He turned to Al and looked him over, "Al, Al, Al!" He exclaimed trying to get his attention.

[emelie]

Winrey grabbed her wrench from her bag and knocked Ed in the head with it. "Ed knock it off and listen to me. Al is fine. Like I said we found Hayate this way. Al took off his chest plate to cover Hayate with, too keep the puppy safe. That's it. Al is fine. Understand?"
Winrey sighed. Ed has way too much of one track mind. It's exhausting.

[AG]

Ed was surprised when he was randomly hit over the head, "Damn Winry!" He shouted until he heard what she was saying, "Al, is fine? Then why hasn't he answered me? ((I am going to move Al because we need to move the story along...))" He said as he looked back to Al who had put his chest plate back on. "Well, you are ok..." Ed said with a smile. "Come on, Hayate would be better off at HQ then out here in the streets." He said as he picked up the little puppy and started walking toward HQ. The sun was beginning to rise so he knew that Riza would be at the HQ at this point.
