1.) Character Name -- Maes Hughes
2.) Character Bio -- Maes Hughes's personality is sometimes seen as comical; tongue-in-cheek, and, to another extent very serious about his family and job. He is often seen as helping people; mainly befriending and giving advice to Edward and Alphonse Elric; Roy Mustang and even Winry Rockbell. He shows his sensitive towards various people in addition, and is continually obsessed with his daughter. Maes was shown to have been infatuated with his wife, Gracia, and their daughter, Elicia. He comically thrusts pictures of Elicia into his colleagues’ faces much to their annoyance - but it is clear that his erratic behavior is usually a cover for the serious and depressing nature of his work.
3.) Relationships with people -- Maes is a very friendly guy and has tons of friends. His particular relationships include: Gracia Hughes - His wife. He loves her very much, as he often tells his friends in the military. Elicia Hughes - His daughter. He carries around endless pictures of her, often thrusting them in the faces of anyone who will look at them. Roy Mustang - His best friend. Maes constantly annoys Roy and knows more than anyone how to make him tick. Riza Hawkeye - Friend. She keeps Roy from setting him on fire and for that, he is eternally grateful. Edward and Alphonse Elric - Also his friends. He is always trying to help them out in their search for the Philosopher's Stone.

5.) Dislikes -- When phone lines cut off his conversations, not getting home in time to tell his daughter goodnight, Roy burning his pictures.

History of the character -- In the past, he was stationed in Ishbal with both Roy and Riza, but now Maes is initially assigned to the Investigations Division in Central, where he is more involved with police work than he is in actual battles. He has displayed his skills with his push knives, with very precise aiming and through the use of his reflexes. After receiving his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel, Maes is placed in charge of the Investigations Division.

1.) Why do you want to be this character? I love the was Maes always seems so happy, even when he isn't. He just really is able to lift the moods of those around him, and I love that.
2.) How far are you into the Anime? I've seen the anime 3 times all the way through, twice in English, once in Japanese. I've seen the movie 3 times, too, and am caught up on the second anime.
3.) How far are you into the Manga? I'm waiting for chapter 104 to come out next month.
