---Character Information---
1.) Character Name – Edward Elric
2.) Character Bio -- Ed tries not to let anything hold him back except where his little brother is concerned. He feels guilty about the situation he’d led them into as children and because of it is protective to a fault. There is nothing in the world apart from –maybe- the value of human life in general that is more important to Ed than his brother and it is a failing of his.
He is terribly compassionate but has no qualms with violence when either necessary or someone insults his height. He has a bad habit of expecting Al to remind him to be human and then ignoring it. He is stubborn to the max, often a complete pain in the ass, but it seems he’s got a proper head on his shoulders at most times and while most still treat him as a child, he is convinced he knows otherwise.
3.) Relationships with people – Ed has limited standing relationships with anyone, and only a very few he regards kindly. He dearly loves his brother, Alphonse Elric, and extremely protective of him. He also cares a great deal for his automail mechanic, Winry, and her grandmother Pinako. Ed’s temper often leads him to be excessively rude to those who have tried to help him, such as Roy Mustang, Maria Ross, so on and so forth, but generally he does respect them, he’s simply too stubborn to admit it. He also holds a great deal of fondness for the Hughes family and even major Armstrong.

6.) History of the character –
Edward Elric's story began in February 1910, when he and Alphonse Elric , his younger brother, attempted to resurrect their dead mother by a forbidden act of alchemy: human transmutation. Unfortunately the attempt backfired, resulting in Alphonse losing his body and Ed his left leg, as well as bringing to life an inhuman monster. In order to save Al's soul, Ed sacrificed his right arm to bind Al's soul to a nearby suit of armor using knowledge he attained from this glimpse into the Gate. At the time Ed did not know but, he also gained the rare ability to perform transmutations without a circle.
In order to regain what they had lost, Ed and Al decided to search for the legendary Philosopher's Stone. To gain access to the vast amount of research and information on alchemy available only to State Alchemists, Ed and Al decided to take the notoriously difficult State Alchemist’s entrance exam. They stayed for a year in Central with Shou Tucker, the Sewing Life Alchemist, while studying for the exam.
After passing the alchemy exam, Edward and Alphonse set out to look for the Philosopher's Stone. Since the Stone allows the owner to bypass the laws of equivalent exchange, Ed and Al believed that locating the stone would enable them to regain what they have lost in their failed attempt to resurrect their mother. In an effort to help the Elric Brothers in this quest, Mustang issued orders to Edward to conduct an alchemic investigation into the Philosophers Stone, allowing Ed to use his position in the military to legitimately search for the stone without raising suspicion among other officers in the military. (I went bare minimum here because I wasn’t sure how far you’d want me to go, I can go always go further if you’d like!)
---Your Info---
1.) Why do you want to be this character? I love Ed Elric, he’s a fantastic, deep character I love his story and his attitude. I’ve roleplayed him a few times before and I hope to continue for a long while.
2.) How far are you into the Anime? All the way, multiple times.^^
3.) How far are you into the Manga? Up to the last updated chapter…
---Writing Sample---
Edward stomped from the exit, hands balled into fists at his sides. He was aware, on some level, that he was being a brat. Colonel Mustang had, usually, been rather good to him, stupid bastard that he was. But something about the abruptness of what had happened had him on edge with anxiety and confusion. Hawkeye had said it was for Al’s protection but no one was more worried about Alphonse’s safety than he was, which was why he had tried so stubbornly to keep Al where he needed to be, in the hospital! Where doctors were constantly milling around, who at headquarters was going to do them a damn bit of good if there was a complication? No, there was definitely something else up and he was sure as hell not going to be pulled about by Mustang and his lackeys like a marionette, someone would tell him or he would find out himself.
Upon reaching the car Edward tugged the passenger side door open and leaned in pointedly, casting a small, reassuring smile in Al’s direction. “He’s sitting in back with me, I don’t care what kind of hurry you’re in from the high-and-mighty bastard, but first and foremost I’m here for Al, not fucking military command.” Edward hoped there would be little argument at least; he didn’t want to fight this woman because, no matter what, he wasn’t going to lose this one. Especially not in the long run.
