Hughes walked in, actually on time. "Good morning Miss Hawkeye! You would not believe the things Elicia did this morning! When she got up she came up to me and drew a picture of her daddy!" He said with such pride. He whipped out the picture and showed it to Riza. "Isn't she such an artist?" He asked her as if he knew she would agree.

"Your right Lt. Colonel, you should probably get her straight into an art school," she said with a kind of sarcasm she was sure Hughes wouldn't get.

Needless to say, Riza was a bit cranky today, so she just went right back to signing her endless paper work.

HUGHES

Excitement spread across Hughes' face, "You really think so?" He asked with a large smile. "I should make some calls to schools now!" He said as he ran off to the nearest phone. "Work can wait when my daughter is a genius!" He said as he began searching the phone book for the nearest art school.

Riza was glad she'd gotten him away from her so easily. Now if she could just concentrate on her work instead of her headache she'll be happy.

HUGHES

Hughes walked back up to Riza, "Oh, plus, Miss Hawkeye." He started in a now serious tone. "I have those files you wanted..." He told her as he handed Riza a thick envelope. "Sorry it took me so long." He finished as he walked out of the room.

"But, sir, I didn't request any files," she said confused. Riza stared down at the thick envelope in her hand. Her curiosity was instantly peeked,...but she knew it was against protocol to look at files that were never requested. She could get court martialed if she did.

She immediately followe Hughes out of the office, intent on returning the envelope. "Lt. Colonel Hughes!"

HUGHES

Hughes turned around, "yes, I heard you back there. Please look at them." He whispered. "I need your help." He whispered again. He looked around, "It is some new information I have been able to dig up. I can't talk about it here...it isn't safe." He told her as he turned and walked away from the Lt. again.

Meanwhile on the other side of town, Rose had just come off the trian in Central Station. she yawned it had taken her quite a while to get here and the seats werent excatly comfy. she stood on the platform holding her case and she yawned again. 'Now' she thought to herself 'i need to get to Military HQ, to find Colonel Mustang and Riza Hawkeye...erm wheres that then?' Rose walked out of the station hopeing to maybe find someone who could tell her how to get there.

she walked around and found another officer, 'can you tell me how to get to the military HQ please' she asked the man looked at her weirdly. 'what do you want with hq little girl?' rose was offened 'i need to find colonel mustang'
'what do you want with him? are you plotting something?'
'no im not can you give me directions?' rose was gettin more angry then the officer went to take her bag rose grabbed it and went to run the other way but was stopped by another officer who grabbed her by the arms and threw her in the back of a car. 'your under arrest' he barked rose hung her head in shame, 'what did i do? at least this well get me to hq' she thought!

Hughes saw Rose as she was walking around HQ, "Well if it isn't Ed's friend! Have you seen the newest pictures of my daughter yet?" He asked as he began pulling out his wallet. "Well this was her when I was waking up one morning!" He said as he pointed to one of the pictures. "Also," He said as he took out the picture from before, "This is a drawing she did of me this morning!" He said with excitment, "Which reminds me, I need to call those art schools still! So what are you doing here?" He asked as he looked at her questioningly.

rose smiled as hughes showed her pics of his cute little daughter. the two officers who had escorted her in looked at her bewildered, then they walked off. she gave them an evil smirk, 'it pays to no ppl in higher places' she thought

turning back to hughes she said ' i need to find colonel mustang and riza hawkeye can you help me? my town needs help!'

Riza went back into the office, still bewildered about these mysterious files. New information about what? she thought. Maybe Roy should look at these before I do. But her curiosity was getting the better of her.

"What could make Hughes so concerned?" she asked the empty space in the office. She opened the envelope slowly and read the top line. "Lior!" But I thought all that was dealt with already! Or, could this have to do with the Elrics?

At that point Riza thought it best to wait for the Colonel to show up to work. She had no idea what to do about yet another insident in Lior.

HUGHES

Hughes nodded, "I can help you find them!" He said to her, "I was just talking to Miss Hawkeye actually." He said as he began to guide her towards Riza's office.

He knocked on the door, "Miss Hawkeye, sir...Rose, a friend of Ed's...is here to see you." He said as he slowly opened the door.

Riza snapped the file closed. "Rose is it? Nice to meet you," she said extending her hand. "May I ask why you're here?"

EDWARD

Ed walked in without Hayate, whom he had given to Al to hold on to. "Oh, Rose, what are you doing here?" He asked surprised to see her there. He shook his head, "we will have to catch up later." He said as he turned to Riza, "Sir...Hayate got out last night and he was injured. I am so sorry this happened. But he seems ok, just injured and weak. He is outside with Al." He said as he bowed through most of it, hoping that she wouldn't be too angry with him.

HUGHES

Hughes watched Ed pass right by him, "Geeze Ed, one of your closest friends in Central and you forget to say hi!" Hughes said with a joking chuckle. "I bet you wanna see pictures of Elicia!

EDWARD

Ed turned to Hughes, "Oh, I'm sorry! Hi Lt. Colonel!" He said with a smile. "actually, I don't have much time for that. I bet the 1st Lt. has some sort of new mission for me!" He said trying to get out of seeing more pictures of Elicia.

Rose shook Lt Hawkeyes hand, and then started to tell her all about what was happening in Lior. Jus when she was about to start Edward walked in. 'hi ed' Rose said. 'while your here ill tell whats been happening in Lior. Father Cornello asked me to deliver a package to one of his friends on the outskirts of town, when i had done that the house that he was living in exploded i was shocked and ran back to the church were i meet a strange woman who mentioned ' she looked at ed 'you and al, i didnt know who she was then Father told me to come here and look for Riza Hawkeye and Colonel Mustang. i dont know why he asked for you two in particular' she looked at the Lt Hughes who was busy flicking through pics of his baby daughter.

The house exploded,...? Why does that sound suspicious to me? Riza asked herself.

"Unfortunately, Rose I don't have much authority to deal with this matter until Colonel Mustang gets here. Wait,..." she sent a pointed glare at the FullMetal alchemist, "Braha was hurt? Give me every detail,...Rose, why don't you take a seat or perhaps have the Lt. Colonel take you down to the mess hall for something to eat? Colonel Mustang should hopefully be here by the time you get back. Now, FULLMETAL, you have 30 seconds to explain yourself!"

Colonel Mustang walked trought the doors.with a bored and tired look on his face and yawns."Ahh...so what have I missed."

"Sir!" Riza saluted, following protocol. "Sir, there is apparently a situation brewing in Lior that needs our attention. Rose, would care to explain to the Colonel, in detail, what happened?"

She turned to Edward, "You and I need to 'talk' first, don't we FullMetal?" She had a bit of a menacing glare.

Ed's face was filled with dispair when Riza started yelling at him. "Well, I an not sure exactly what happened...Al and Winry found him...so you should really be asking them." He explained to Riza. "Basically, he looks like he was attacked by another dog, most likely a stray. He is awake, just a little hurt. That's all, weak from the injury." He continued, hoping Riza wouldn't be too hard on him.

Black Hayate laid in Al's arms, listening to the talk of voices just inside the room. Suddenly his ears perked up at the sound of Riza. The dog moved to get down, and Al set him on the ground. Braha limped his way into the room and finally tripped and fell near Ed and Riza. He looked up at Hawkeye, his eyes wide and shining, asking please don't hate me.
