The high-pitched shriek of metal rubbed against stone sent a rustle of discomfort down 81's spine.
"66, cut it out." He hissed, pulling his knees up and hugged them as though to keep himself warm. As though to banish the everlasting cold.

66 didn't answer, but merely continued sharpening the blade of his cleaver on the rock.
It was hardly the best tool for such work, but the blade was strong enough to withstand scratches.

Two crimson orbs appeared beside him, and with a heavy sigh Number 48 appeared from the shadows and sat down beside them.
"No chimeras." He grunted, glancing at the two. "We met another guardian, but he wasn't up for talking."
"A right mess he was." The youngest Slicer croaked. "He won't last much longer."

66 raised his head with a quiet chuckle.
"How sad."

Hikari was walking through the labs, after having recieved her assignment from Dante. She sighed, not really knowing what she was supposed to do now that she was a legitimate part of Dante's so-called "research team." She wondered if she was supposed to go into the army, and she could act as a spy of sorts, but that might not be the wisest course of action. She turned into a room, and noticed three pieces of pound armour. She gasp a small gasp of surprise, and backed out slowly, hoping to not be seen by the pieces of armour... After all, they probably didn't get Dante's memo on who she was, and if not, she wasn't in the best posisiton at the moment...

The three guardians looked up in unison, staring silently at the girl.
81 laughed. "A girl." He said cheerfully.
Barry trembled faintly, his surprise quickly stifled as he chuckled hoarsely.
"Well well. Whaddo we have here? Have you lost your way, sweety?"
Number 48 rose to his feet with a faint rustle. "No taunting, 66. I'm not in the mood to see one of your cat-and-mouse escapades unfolding before my very eyes."

Barry rose as well, not taking his eyes off the girl.
"It's okay sweety, don't be frightened..."

So, Hikari was right. These guys obviously hadn't gotten Dante's memo. And she wasn't sure these guys would buy her story. "I-i was trying to find my way out... so I-i could research the Philosopher's Stone... for Dante..." She didnt' think the armours would enjoy or believe that answer, but she knew it was the truth. A faint, faint light seemed to emit from her back- a light blue aura of sorts. She was preparing herself, just in case she needed to get a quick getaway. She kept backing up, until she was outside of the room they were in. She didn't know if they'd let her go, but there was a good chance she could at least slow them down by blocking the door with ice...

Slicer sighed heavily. "She knows about the stone. How unfortunate. There's no way they'd let us spare her now..."

With a manic cackle, Barry leapt forward, cleaver held high.

This was not going as planned. Not at all. She shook her head and the light from her back, which they neglected, grew an even brighter whitish colour. After a split second, she thrust her palm onto the ground and shot out from her hand out towards Barry's feet. If he didn't move, he'd slip onto his stomach, and Hikari would raise an ice pillar, which Barry would run into head-first if he slipped. With that, she'd raise the ice on the ground in front of her to cover the doorway, at least slowing the armours down.

Looking above, she noticed a vent hole. Quickly palming the ground, she made ice raise her up on a flat pillar and rose to the height of the ventalation system. With no time for subtlety, she melted the metal off with her fire rune, and let the cover drop noisily down. She qucikly crawled into the space, her dimunitive frame allowing her easy access where the armour would have a hard time getting in. That, and she turned and melted the ice she used to get herself up, making a small puddle around the melted vent cover...

Barry was not prepared for what happened at all.
With a yell of surprise, he felt his feet slip, and fell head-first onto the pillar.

Slicer backed away in surprise. "Alchemy!"

81 quickly got to his feet. "Damn! She's an alchemist too! We can't let her get-"
But too late. The door had already sealed up with ice.

With a roar of disbelief, Barry staggered to his feet, nuzzling his chin angrily. "She almost cracked my head open...Impressive, very impressive..."
Raising his cleaver, he attempted to hack his way through the ice. The two others joined him, hoping desperately that they'd manage to get through before she disappeared.
