Full Battle Alchemist
I am working on this, so it will be updated periodically.
FBA World
Full Battle Alchemist is an alternate storyline based on the FMA Universe. However, this world is in the current area of time, which would be Aug 2010 in the alchemical reality. Amestris is now an empire that includes North America, and most of Europe. There is a Fuhrer, but he is different than the one we know.
The Full Battle Alchemist Roleplay itself, will only occur within the empire of Amestris. Amestris within the FMA storyline, is the name of the empire in which most of the characters reside. Whenever someone refers to "Central", they refer to a city, a central headquarters built ontop of what was once London. "Eastern" is within the east part of what we would consider Europe, the part closest to Russia. Below is a map which gives a visible world map for use in Full Battle Alchemist.
Orgainization
There are 7 branches of the military now;
Air Guard - a United States Air Force equivalent.
Navy - Who control both the merchant ships and the military war vessels.
Coast Guard - Who monitor the coasts of the empire.
National Guard - They protect the land within the empire of Amestris and keep its countrymen safe as best possible.
Army - The military as controlled privately by the Fuhrer.
Technical Guard - A branch of the military developed to protect the progress of technology and knowledge, as well as monitor the SYSNET an INTERNET equivalent.
The Central Agency - An agency comprised entirely of Alchemists of the State, and a small group of highly decorated Alchemists of the Government (better recognized as "The Alchemists of Amestris".
Obviously, as an Alchemist, you are mostly inclined to join the Central Agency. In this era, due to the vast share of knowledge and otherwise bad people; The Central Agency has been degraded from a wartime military organization, to a CIA like taskforce created to deter the use of "Forbidden Alchemy". This branch of alchemy includes, but is not limited to; The use of transmutation for monetary gain, The use of human transmutation, The use of high energy alchemy to condone nuclear fusion (still not entirely researched), The use of alchemy to alter genetics (including the crossbreeding of plants, and the creation of chimera), etc...
Use of Alchemy
Alchemy in this age is considered an art form. Many play with alchemy as children, and some even take classes in school to further their alchemical knowledge. Few even become dogs of the Amestrian Military, and in this way not much has really changed. For entertainment some civilians take part in competitions, duels, and fights to display their powers of alchemy. Sparely, these fights occur as underground wavered fights to the death. Fights not only where the winner gains fame and fortune, but the right to keep the losers soul.
In addition to this, alchemists have found excellent business within fields like automotive repair, masonry, architecture, medicine, chemistry, and mechanical design. Large companies and private businesses hire alchemists to repair equipment, and to upkeep structures that would normally be heavily damaged; .
