Picture:
Alias: The Equivocal Alchemist
Name: Azerik Zweifel
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Weight: 135 lbs
Height: 5"4'
Hair: Mid length, red coloring.
Eyes: Red
Personality: Outwardly, Azerik appears to be a bit of a dunce, playing the part of a young man who refuses to grow up, when in fact his outlook on life is quite mature for someone his age. With a strong sense of justice, and an intense need to help those around him, Azerik can be very self sacrificing, and has a deep seeded distrust of the Amestrian State Military.
Azerik also has a tendency to doubt people easily, requiring at least minimal evidence of truth. His doubting nature even extends to his research in Alchemy, leading him to search for way to prove or disprove any new theories he may come across.
Azerik also has spells of depression, usually caused by subconcious reminders of his past, but sometime it is just because of a recent failure, and its nearly impossible to tell the reason from observation.
He also, (unlike a certain main character) has no problems with his height, laughing along with any joke made about his size.
Physical Description: Somewhat short for his age, Azerik has a very child like appearance.
Azerik is most often seen wearing all brown attire, with brown slacks, a simple brown shirt in the style used in Xing, and a hooded brown cloak. He also wears a black eyepatch over his wounded right eye.
History: Azerik's past is long and convoluted, but one could say he was a very conflicted person as a child. Born in the East, and raised in Liore, Azerik was one of the rare children born from an Amestrian and Ishbalan couple, his mother being an Ishbalan woman who had fled from her homeland, and his father being a second rate alchemist who traveled around in the East, following rumors of the Philosopher's Stone. One would assume an Ishbalan woman would want nothing to do with an Alchemist, but the two fell in love nonetheless.
Azerik lived his life as a normal child in Liore, learning Alchemy from his father, and studying on his own time, until one day his parents decided that Azerik should go with his mother to learn about her people. It was during this time that the Ishbalan Masacre started. His mother was killed early on in the war, and Azerik lost his rightr eye, when a stray bullet hit him. He was by an Ishbalan, who removied the bullet, and put bandages over the wound. Shortly after this incident, Azerik returned to his father with news of his mother's death. His father quickly went into decline, and refused to let his son leave Liore after that. A few years later, Azerik's father died, and freed from his obligation to stay, Azerik went traveling, like his father had before he met his mother. By the age of 15 he had already surpassed his father's meager skills in Alchemy, and had settled down to live in the area of Risembool. While he never personally knew the Elrics, he had met them a few times, and was impressed to hear a year later, Edward had become a State Alchemist. Despite his dislike of the Military, Azerik had to admit that at the age of 12, it was unlikely Ed would become anything like the monsters who had killed his mother during the war.
Two years later at the age of 17, Azerik's skills in Alchemy had grown signifigantly, and he had become known to the locals of Risembool as "the Equivocal Alchemist" both because of his doubting nature, and because it was a pun on his last name which means "to doubt".
He soon left Risembool to continue traveling, and has been doing so for the past year.
Alchemical Powers: Azerik has two arrays tattoos, one on the palm of each of his hands.
On his left hand he has the following Array, which focuses light particles and heat into the area in front of his hand, and fires them in a wide blast:
The following Array on his right hand, is a modified version of the Array on his left hand, and it focuses heat and light particles, then pushes them forward in a focused beam:
Azerik also has two other Arrays that he can draw in the area he needs to perform the transmutation.
The following Array is a Universal Array (it simply alters the shape of the substance being transmuted), that is particularly effective when transmuting Iron and Stone, as well as being able to change the state of the air (can make wind, or change the temperature):
The final Array, makes a wind tunnel, which is basically a horizontal tornado, so long as Azrik has his hands on the Array:

As soon has he had finished packing everything into his hiking pack, azerik went through his mental list of things, making sure he had all the essentials, and all his research material. When he was absolutely certain he wasn't forgetting everything, he left out the front door. He carefully locked the door, not wanting any stray dogs to get in while he was away, since he was resolved to return at some point, then went on his way, walking down the road, heading toward East City, so he could catch a train to Central.
"It's been so long since I last did some travelling," Azerik said to himself with a smile about an hour later, "I forgot how tiring it could be." As he walked, he looked down at the palm of his left hand, where he had recently had a tattoo of his newest Transmutation Circle, and flexed his fingers. He had made the Array so that he could defend himself, becayse despite his pale skin, he was part Ishbalan, which anyone could tell by looking at his eyes, and it was likely that there were all sorts of people who would attack him, simply for that.
"Hopefully I don't run into any trouble," he said aloud again, "it would be bad if I got caught in something big...it would be impossible to explain the burns on my assailants."
Below are the rules and how my character follows them.
1. Your OC must have flaws
--- He easily gets himself into trouble, because he acts so immature, and he can be infuriating in his constant doubt of people's words.
2. Your OC must not be a Homunculus
--- He's pretty human...at least I think he is.
3. Your OC may be in love with a canon character, but you may not say the feelings are mutual
--- He's not really the fall in love type...but you never know.
4. An OC cannot be related to a canon character.
--- Nein.
5. No Video Game Canons.
--- Face claim is gay.
6. Your OC must use an array to perform alchemy, but feel free to be creative. THIS MEANS YOU CAN NOT HAVE SEEN THE GATE!
--- Did not see the gate.
--- He's got some Arrays listed above.
7. You may play a canon in addition to your OC (people who are already playing canons must keep their current character as a temp or a second permanent character. If you fail to play that character then your OC will be taken away.)
--- Fine :3 I like OC's much better though.
8. In order to be accepted, your OC must be approved by THREE of the FIVE staff members.
--- Halp me!
9. All weapons and powers must fit into the FullMetal Alchemist world. No demonic powers nor any special weapons (e.g. Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga)
--- He can make simple weapons like a sword, or a pole with Alchemy. He can also fight fairly well with his hands and feet.
10. Your character may have arrays tattooed on their body, but it may only be on one part of the body (i.e. hands, feet, one arm, one leg, etc.)
--- The wording of this confused me, but I took it to mean one array per body part? Anyway, there's one on each of his palms.
11. All alchemy powers must be original. No copying canon character powers (e.g. only Scar can blow people's brains up and only Kimblee can turn people into bombs)
--- Lasers are pretty original.
12. The military may have swords. However, when on duty, they may not use their swords. They must use military weaponry.
--- What ever weapon he transmutes, and his own limbs.
13. Alchemy MUST be with a physical element and must fit within alchemy laws. (I didn't think I had to put this since everyone has seen the show and it's a rule of the show)
--- Of course. He transmutes most earthen elements, including stone and metal, as well as the movement and temperature of the surrounding air.
