I think that all the rpgers on the site should join the Modern Day Alchemist rpg. Not to be mean or anything but the Modern Day Alchemist site was a better layout then this one. All of you are welcome to join so go to mdalchemist.darkbb.com/forum.htm .

Is it any more active than this site? Cause I don't care about the layout much. I just would like a nice place to rp, where I don't have to wait more than two weeks to have my characters approved.

Once a place dies, it seems its doomed to die again if resurrected. Mind you, its hard to keep a forum running with a system like this one has, because it requires all mods to be on a lot. Even if it is more fair as to how characters get approved, what with more input from separate people, but having characters able to be approved by any one mod is better for activity. Until the other staff stop having problems in real life, or decide to stop procrastinating, I encourage you to go to Affiliated RP's. My own RP wrathofgod-fma-alt.proboards.com/index.cgi is still trying to get started, and I've instituted a policy of making the characters of inactive member, Admin controlled characters, in order to keep up posts. I have to go through all the registrered characters still, as most people who joined are the kind that are prone to computer crashes, and loss of bookmarks, or have lots of issues in real life.

I think a system requireing multiple mods to approve an application is good. Since becoming a member I have seen apps that were approved instantly by one mod and then constructively criticized by another, only to have the original mod agree with the second and recend his original hasty approval. If the first said Mod had sole power to approve apps, almost any app would be allowed. However ... it is not ideal when only two mods are regularly active and three approvals are needed. Then you have what we have: people waiting for a week or two or three just for one of the less active mods to approve them.
I am not completely satisfied with this site, however it does recieve alot of activity as far as new members are concerned. New eyes are on this site everyday.
With that said, these new eyes may not like what they see if new members have to wait 2-3 weeks to get their first character approved.
Sadly, now-a-days people will join a site and will be active for a month or two and then go cold when something else catches their fancy or they have computer/internet issues and cant log on regularly. So indeed patience is a virtue of any good online play-by-post RPer.
I am dedicated to finding a good site with good people. I am not currently looking elsewhere as I feel this site has the potential to be that site. I am just discouraged because some of the newer members arent able to get involved soon enough and don't stay involved long enough. I don't want to become one of THESE people and go looking for a new site now.
I was a member of this site for some time before my first RP post and now I am bogged down in that thread with someone who I thought was going to be a great new member who has sadly gone cold. I will be moving on without her soon and this sucks because it does affect the RP.

I saw your thread, and honestly, I think a majority of my impatience comes from the inability to join it. I have a character that would be perfect for the area! Sadly I'll just have to wait. Al, if you do leave the site, you'll have to tell me, so that I can follow. Hopefully you don't leave, cause I've grown quite fond of this site, I just want to be able to start using it soon. Maybe I should apply to be a temporary mod or something, but I don't think it would be right for me to approve my own characters if that was possible. ;D

Well as long as I'm around, I'm not letting this forum die...even if AG doesn't come back, my Global mod permissions let me work almost as if I were the admin, so I can try to keep it running, and if I need to, I'll put applications for moderators back up, since I believe I'm able to promote to at least a general moderator...actually, I think the only thing I can't do is edit member group permissions, and promote people to admin..I'll have to experiment. But yeah, I hope you guys stick around, cuz if at least one or two diligent people are around, we can at least have some fun on our own

Sounds like a plan to me, I think it would be a good idea to have at least a temporary mod for the moment, then we could get this site back in the game. Do you have any current members online that might make a good mod for the time being?

Well I have been steadily active since I have become a member. I would be willing to be a moderator, however I wouldn't be comfortable with alot of power. Just to help along the approval process of the character applications maybe. I would have to be tutored on how to exercise any mod powers b/c I have not been an admin on many sites.
Really I just enjoy the RP and how people can take a storyline and create and alterverse with that general sotryline. New plot Ideas and such.
If Asked, I would accept mod powers but with limited responsibility. (Not that anyone has asked me to or anything...)
