She oppened her eyes slowly. It felt as though she had just fallen asleep, and that was the first time she had a good night's sleep since she became a soldier. Soon, however she was completely awake and heard Greed talking about breakfast. She looked around for anything that could be eaten. A few cactuses- those weren't anygood. A snake slitered past her. It wasn't poisonous- she could tell that much. It was something she gained, she guessed, when they combined her with a snake at the Lab. All she'd need was a stone. It would be so easy to kill that little reptile. She wouldn't eat it, of course. It'd be like cannibalism.

He eventually felt asleep - exhausted as he was, his grip around the barrel eventually relaxing as sleep weakened his fingers. He slid down around the barrel into the sand and would have to be shaken to wake up.
He dreamt of his life 3 years ago, when all was still well and unmarred. Smiling peacefully in his sleep.

GREEDO CHIMERAS
One by one the others started to wake up. They brough some water from the pool and shared some meat and bread they got. As the sun was rising, they moved into the shadows of the oasis trees, because the temperature shot up like a dart.
Greedo took some of food and sat on the rock, that Dorchet occupied a few minutes ago. He gazed into the distance, as if expecting to see Pride with a battalion of soldiers. He was disturbed. They were allowed to leave too easily, too quickly. Dante wasn't foolish, Greedo did not doubt that. Perhaps it was maybe a mistake on Pride's side. If he could only see the future and know what awaits him.

Martel grabbed a little bit of the meat and bread. But instead of joining the others in the shade, she sat down in the sun. She finished eating and just sat in the sand, enjoying the warmth and light.
"Something wrong?" she asked, looking at Greed.

GREEDO
He turned his head around, a little suprised, to see Martel there, sitting close to him in the sand. *No, I am just thinking. About what will happen, what has happened, trying to draw the conclusions. I don't understand a lot of things. Well, I guess you understand even less... but that's not the point. I just don't want to be caught of guard.*

Martel nodded slightly as she finished her food. Standing, she began to walk away from the oasis, glancing down at the sand every few moments.

GREEDO CHIMERAS
He waited for the others to finish up, but then he ordered to continue in the journey. Once again, the moved through the desert dunes, right below the deadly sun. But is was bereable. At least Greedo, being a homonculi, used to all kinds of hostile envirnoments, had no problems with it. The had enough water and food even for a week. And the East city was only a few days away.

Kimblee grumbled. When he awoken, all he had was a bit of meat to satisfy himself for the moment, although realizing this wouldn't last long. The alchemist trudged to his feet, picking up pace behind Greed, following the homunculous' footsteps. This was going to be a dismal day. Hiking was no way to spend his freedom, but it had to be done. As boring as the scenery was, without the aid of explosions and children's screams, it was better than Ishbal.
Zolf Kimblee turned around, and spotted Tucker still asleep. If he were needed to shake him awake, the temptation to turn him into a bomb might prove too great. At this point, he couldn't risk losing any trust he had among this motley crew.
"Hey," Kimblee called out to Tucker, "We're moving!"

Martel walked along with the others. While the sun and heat was probably tiring for them, it was actually making her feel more alive. Though she did miss her knives; they were usefull for defense.

The dream slipped and he opened his eyes. Expecting to be in his bed, with his wife peacefully sleeping beside him, he was in great shock when all he saw was sand. He jumped up with a yelp, looking around in confusion and panic. Recent memories struck him hard and the sudent revelation, that he had just had a dream crushed him - he sunk back to the ground with a defeated look.
He mechanically followed after the group, shooting glances every now and then at the barrel the bull chimera kindly carried on.

Pausing for a moment, Martel knelt down and picked up a stone. It came to a point, not to sharp but it was a weapon. Maybe she was paranoid, yes, but they'd only been free for less than twenty-four hours. Who could really blame her?

Greed glanced at Martel as he too paused. He approached her, "We really shouldn't stop in this kind of heat." He mentioned to her kindly hoping she wouldn't worry so much. "Come on...let's go." He said to her as he nudged her and continued on the way.

She glanced at him as she kept the stone clutched in her hand. She was ready to tell him not to worry and that they could go on ahead. The heat didn't bother her, she could catch up later. But instead she nodded and followed him, staying close to him as she had been since she had been freed.

The heat had been beating down on him. He stumbled on and in the end just grabbed onto the ropes of the barrel. The strong chimera barely noticed the extra weight trying to support itself while stumbling on. He was thirsty and started to go delirious.

Zolf silently trudged along behind everyone but for a select few, the pulsating heat on his back almost unbearable. Sweat was dripping from the end of his nose. He peerd up at the others.
Martel was a strange one, he figured. It wasn't normal for humans to be this comfortable in the dessert, which made the alchemist wonder what heat-loving animal (more likely a reptile or sorts) the woman was fused with. If he didn't keep a sharp eye on her, he was positive she'd be his undoing...

Martel glanced over her shoulder to see how her comrades were doing. That's when she noticed Kimblee staring at her. Her blood ran cold, as she remembered all that had occured in the Lab.

Greedo turned and saw that martel had stopped. Greedo put a hand on martel's shoulders and said " wats wrong, anything wrong?"

Martel was a bit shocked as Greed touched her shoulder. "Nothing" she told him, shrugging his hand off.

"ok, if you say so, then lets move on" said Greed. Greed started to walk.
(((hey where are we going anyways?)))

((We were heading to The Devil's Nest, from Lab 5. And not trying to be rude or anything- but read FMA: The Real World and start from the beggining. That way you can be a part of that thread too.))
Martel nodded and followed after Greed. As she got closer to his side, she glanced over her shoulder to make sure Kimblee wasn't doing anything.
