GREEDO
The nights are always cold. And when you are in a deserts it counts for several times. This night was freezing. Greedo walked over a small sand dune, stopped and looked upon the stars. He pulled his jacket even closer. Then he turned at the others, chimeras, Tucker and Kimbley who were behind him.
*It is late,* he told them shaking a bit. *We should stop there and rest and make a fire.* He pointed at a oasis, which was not far away. Hopefully they would reach the East city in three days.

Martel heard Greed's words, but found herself unable to respond. The cold of the desert night was starting to effect her. She tried to speak, expressing only a soft cough. Yes, a fire would warm her a little, enough to keep her alive at least.

GREEDO CHIMERAS
Greedo continued forward, ignoring the freezing wind, that was blowing to his face. The others were still following him. Dorchat was keeping near Martel, keeping a cloak he found in the laboratory around her shoulders, to keep her from the worst breaches of cold. They were all silent, because the wind and fatigue took the words from their tongues.
At last they reached the oasis. Greedo took a seat, while some of the chimeras threw the wood they were carrying onto the ground. Bida was busy making a fireplace and then he finally lit the fire. They were warm at last. Greedo stretched his arms, leaned againts a palm above him, and stared into the fire through his sunglasses.

Martel glanced thankfully at Dorochet when he placed the cloak on her shoulders. It didn't help much, but it was better than nothing. Now that the fire was lit, she sat as close as she could, until she was barely three inches away from the flame. She was still cold, but was becoming a little warmer.

Tucker sits by the fire - leaning on the barrel, placing a hand around it protectively. He stares blankly into the flames.

GREEDO
He looked at the Ouroborus sign on his left hand. He scratched it a bit. Now, he almost forgot he had it. Stupid thing, Dante marked him, as her possesion, that foolish woman. Ne snigered and reached a bag, which one of the chimeras was carrying all the way. He opened it, and took some packed dried meat. *Anybody else want some?* he offered it to the others. They have enough for now, enough for three days. That wasn't a long time for travel.

Martel glanced over at Greed, holding up a hand. "I'll take some" she told him, amazed at how slowly she was actually talking.

GREEDO
He took a long sip from a little lake in the oasis and turned to Martel. *Are you really that cold? Want me to warm you up a bit? Come here....* He patted slightly the ground next to him, close to fire.

Martel raised an eyebrow slightly, but went to sit where Greed was indicating. She pulled the cloak she was still wearing tightly around her body. Though now she wasn't sure if she was covering herself from the cold or from something else.

GREEDO
He took his own thick cloak and threw it over her, putting his arm around her shoulders, leaning towards her, giving her a bit of his own body heat. *Feeling better now?* he asked her in a soft voice.

She glanced over at him, giving him a thankful smile. She hoped he wouldn't see the slight blush that was creeping onto her face. For reasons she didn't know, she could never get used to Greed touching her.

Sitting on the ground beside Tucker, Kimblee eyed Martel and Greed's actions with apprehension. The day's activities were tiring, and the alchemist would like nothing more than a good sleep... but, the fact remains that he didn't trust any of these freaks as far as he could throw them. The strange lizard chimera seemed to be a fan though. Best thing yet was finding out that King Bradley, Fuhrer of Amestris, was a homunculous, an alchemical myth come to life.
Kimblee stretched his fingers, a light krick-krack sharply piercing the night air. "Tucker," he said with a bit too much coldness in his voice, "What's your deal? You don't seem like the others..." As far as Kimblee could tell, Tucker was a human. The man didn't have the same air as the others in this little group. Gold eyes stared off into the flickering flame, carefully planning his next move.

Martel heard Kimblee speak and found her eyes shooting at his direction. The "former" State Alchemist may have been in the group, but she had a horrible feeling about him. He wasn't someone to be trusted, not because he was an alchemist, but because of how willing he was to kill with no reason given.

He didn't even spare him a glance. Tucker had been working for the military just for two years. He didn't know Kimblee and he never listened to soldier's stories of victorious battles.
"What's my deal..." he echoed distantly, his hold on the barrel strenghtening untill his knuckles whiten, "...finaly start trusting my abilities..." To bring my daughter back and show her... prove to her... that daddy really cares. He finished in his thoughts.
He glanced over at Kimblee, wondering briefly what his alchemical specialisation was. He noticed one of the arrays and fished in his mind for its function. This sort of self-preservation fear engulfed him, when he remembered the array - it mirrored in his eyes, but his glasses mirrored the fire. He hastily glanced away.
He was stuck with another group of dangerous people, isn't it ironic. He pondered, if the revelation of his thus far knowledge about the Philosopher's stone would help him out or eventually kill him...

Martel just remembered that Tucker was there. He hadn't spoken a word since they had left until now. He was okay. A little out of it at times, but other than that he seemed harmless.
She felt her eyelids start to droop, and shook herself a little. Sleep wasn't important for her right now, the safety of her comrades was.

GREEDO
He didn't listen to the others. He took another bite of the meat and wondered what was that he was missing. It hit him immedeatelly. Beer. He needed beer, but they didn't have any. And he also felt sleepy. He leaned his head againts the tree and closed his eyes, humming the song of the old times.

Martel sighed. Once again she felt her eyes closing, though this time she wasn't able to keep them open. She fell foreward, leaning on Greed and soon fell asleep.

GREEDO
He woke up suddenly, opened his eyes and looked around in panic. Where was he? Ah, the desert, East city, he remembered. he tried to stand up, but he couldn't, something was blocking him. He looked down and saw Martel, her head on his chest fast asleep. He smiled. Not that was something that wasn't bad at all.
Then he saw Dorchet on guard, sittin on a rock back to Greedo, his eyes wathing the horrizon. Greedo smiled once more and stroked Martel's hair. Life was suddenly so good.

Martel could feel someone touching her. But it didn't bother her, like the poking and prodding of Lab 5 had. Actually it felt sort of nice. Sighing in her sleep, she smiled.

GREEDO CHIMERAS
Greedo took Martel gently by the shoulders and moved her aside a bit, so he could stand up. *Wake up, sleepster, it's morning already!* He walked straight towards Dorchet. *Any sign of somebody?*
*No, Greed-sama, only us and a few desert snakes,* Dorchet replied him in low voice. Everybody else was still sleeping. *Shall we move on?*
*Wait for the others to wake up,* Greedo told him, scratching his head. *And we need a breakfast. Especially me, if you don't count the dinner yesterday, I haven't eaten for about 130 years.* He laughed coldly, taking sunglasses from pocket and putting them on his eyes.
