DANTE
Dante was sitting with her apprentice at a small table outside a small cafe', sipping her tea and enjoying the warm sunlight. It was one of those warm, sunny July days that washed all your troubles away and put your mind at rest. A perfect summer day, one would say.
But it wasn't for Dante. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy the sunlight; in fact, she greatly enjoyed it. The problem was the people she was sharing it with: countless loud, obnoxious humans. Were she at her mansion in Dublith it would be a perfect day. Unfortunately, those dirty humans were ruining the entire experience. The sooner she met with Pride and Sloth and got back to Dublith, the better!
Deciding to focus her attention on something else, she rested her aged hazel eyes on the dark-haired young woman parallel to her as she dug into her food. Dante suppressed a strong urge to wince at this. Lyra was losing points for ladylike composure every day! She couldn't help but note that Lyra ate just like Izumi when she was her age. Must be a teenager thing, she resolved.
"Lyra, dear, you should really refine your eating habits. You've stained your dress," Dante admonished her in a disapproving, yet gentle tone, lowering her gaze to the girl's sauce-stained chest.
LYRA
Upon hearing her master Lyra looked down at her chest and saw that it was stained with steak sauce, just as she had said. "Oh, I'm sorry, Master!" she apologized, embarrassed. "It's just been so long since I've had a delicious meal like this. Just lost control of myself..."
Lyra straightened her posture and fervently brushed at the sauce on the front of her dress. Not surprisingly, the clumsy girl inadvertently knocked her tea cup off the table while doing this, along with her master's open purse. Her face immediately paled at the sight of her master's coins spilling out all over the street.
"I'm so sorry! Let me get that," Lyra offered, red in the face with embarrassment. She raised herself from her seat; but before she could get away from the table and gather up her master's money, poor Lyra caught her foot on one of the table's arched legs and fell to the ground, bringing the entire table with her.
DANTE
Dante closed her eyes and took a deep breath, suppressing the powerful urge to murder her new apprentice. Out of all the lovely girls in Amestris, why did she have to get the dumbest of the dumb? Well, that wasn't fair - the girl was rather intelligent. She was just... awkward. Exceedingly awkward!
The old woman let out a heavy sigh and shook her head disapprovingly. "It's perfectly fine. This isn't a complete disaster, at any rate; you have the opportunity to practice your alchemy by fixing what you broke. After you gather up my money, that is."
