~The Shadowed Light Alchemist
~The Shadowed Alchemist
Name: Catherine Qiang
Age:17
Gender:Female
Weight: 102lbs
Height:5' 4"
Hair: Sleek black that falls below her chest and bangs that lean and cover her right eye.
Eyes: Both are a pure black color, although the right one is paler then the left. Nobody knows the fact that she is blind in her right eye, due to her bangs keeping it covered.
Personality: [5 lines at least] Catherine is often viewed as cool and calm, able to handle any situation with ease. While for the most part, this is true, she does have her worries but keeps them locked up inside of her. In her opinion emotions should guide you most of the time, but you should never reveal them others. She isn't one to make decisions on the fly, at least analyzing the risk of each before making one. There are times, however, where impulse or instinct will take over and she'll do something rather rash. Despite this, she never regrets anything, choosing to learn from her mistakes and put the past behind her. It's not easy to anger Catherine, but once you do, it is very likely she will kill you or at least injure you. She doesn't like talking, except to make a witty comment or sarcasm, accompanied by a smirk, the only kind of smile she knows. But when you put the sarcasm and everything else aside, you'll find a person that fiercely loyal, to the death. If you deserve it that is. Catherine doesn't sugarcoat things, she'll hate who she hate, and she'll make sure they know it. She can be lazy at times, especially when it comes to paperwork, she's always up for a fight though.
Physical Description: [100 words at least] Her body is slender due to her weight of 102lbs, yet well-toned, and she stands at 5' 4" the average height for someone her age. Her skin is a creamish color with a slight tan and her hair is the sleek black, usually left down, with her bangs covering her right eye. Both of her eyes are a pure black color, although her right one is paler then the left. She has trasmutation circles tattooed on her palms, creating a circle by clapping them together. She normally wears a black or white t-shirt with a golden jacket that has a black phoenix motif (Like Ling's) and tan cargo pants.
History: [200 words at least] Her birthplace is Xing, the Qiang clan to be precise. However, she is not related to the Emperor of Xing or at least as far as she knows. Around the age of seven, she took interest in Alkahestry and begun studying it. One day while she was outside, one of the heirs to the throne mistook her for the heir of the Qiang clan and attempted to assassinate her. Although she managed to get out alive, the heir to the throne had blinded her in the right eye. Despite her knowledge in Alkahestry, she couldn't heal the injury and her mother couldn't afford a doctor to heal it. When she was older, she begun to teach herself in martial arts, since nobody else had the time to. Then her mother fell sick, too sick to be able to heal with Alkahestry, so Catherine journeyed to Amestris, hoping to find a cure for her sick mother. Upon arriving, however, she got word that her mother had died from the illness.
Seeing that she had nothing else to lose, as she no longer remembers her father, she decided to become a state alchemist despite having no knowledge in Alchemy. Setting out, she went to every library she could find, tearing through every single book about alchemy in a year. At the age of sixteen, she took the exam, becoming a dog of the military. Her title is the Shadowed Light Alchemist due to her alchemy style, where she take two opposites (Water and Fire, Shadow and Light) in order to make an object. Her fighting style consists of her Alchemy, Alkahestry, and the martial arts she picked up in Xing.
Other: She wants to find her father, but keeps it hidden and doesn't really have time for it.
Roleplay Sample:
Catherine wandered the streets of Central, trying to find something, anything to do so she wouldn't have to go back to the office and fill out more paperwork. What's with all the paperwork anyways? And why does she have to do it? There's probably fifteen other State Alchemists that will qualify to sign some sheets of paper, right? Looking behind her, she could still make out the large building in the distance. She paused for a few seconds, before sighing in defeat and making her way back to the building. Pushing the gate apart, she stepped into the air conditioned Central building, remaining looking professional while secretly cursing at everything in her mind. Walking over to her office, she peered inside, nearly glaring at the huge stack of papers on her desk. And by huge, I meant HUGE.
What the hell? Did they somehow triple in size or something? Pushing the wooden door open, she slowly stepped over to her desk, glaring at the pile the entire time. Suddenly, on impulse, she clapped her hands together, creating a lighter. Picking the stack of papers up, she threw them into the trash bin by her desk and proceeded to light them on fire. After assuring that they have been burned to ashes, she dumped a bottle of water on them. Turning around, she looked at her newly cleaned desk with both dread and satisfaction. That's probably going put me even more behind schedule and give me even more work.
1. Your OC must have flaws
Her right eye is blind and she tends to be cold. Also, for her alchemy, if the opposite of one element is not present, she can't perform it. She lacks strength as well.
2. Your OC must not be a Homunculus
Nope.
3. Your OC may be in love with a canon character, but you may not say the feelings are mutual
Nope, although she is protective towards certain characters
4. An OC cannot be related to a canon character
She's not
5. No Video Game Canons.
Done
6. Your OC must use an array to perform alchemy, but feel free to be creative.
--THIS MEANS YOU CAN NOT HAVE SEEN THE GATE
She hasn't
7. You may play a canon in addition to your OC (people who are already playing canons must keep their current character as a temp or a second permanent character. If you fail to play that character then your OC will be taken away.)
Alright
8. All weapons and powers must fit into the FullMetal Alchemist world. No demonic powers nor any special weapons (e.g. Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga)
Understood
9. Your character may have arrays tattooed on their body, but it may only be on one part of the body (i.e. hands, feet, one arm, one leg, etc.)
Her hands, palms to be exact
10. All alchemy powers must be original. No copying canon character powers (e.g. only Scar can blow people's brains up and only Kimblee can turn people into bombs)
I think that a character who uses opposing elements in order to create objects and weapons is original. However, if you apply Kimblee's "Gold and Silver, Sun and Moon, Water and Fire" thing, it can be viewed like that. But she can't go around turning people into bombs. I hope you understand me.
11. The military may have swords. However, when on duty, they may not use their swords. They must use military weaponry.
She has a sword.
12. Alchemy MUST be with a physical element and must fit within alchemy laws. (I didn't think I had to put this since everyone has seen the show and it's a rule of the show)
Her elements are basically opposing forces of nature. Shadow and Light. Water and Fire. Earth and Wind. Gold and Silver.
