It's always hard to watch a loved one die, isn't it? It's even worse when you try to bring them back to life, and fail. But what takes the cake is that this failure took away your brother's body, and your arm and leg. You try to fix things, so you bind your brother's soul to armor - and use prosthetic limbs. What happens next?
We're alchemists and fixing things is our job. Alchemy is an art: destroying to re-create. But it's also a science - for everything comes with a price. Equivalent exchange, they say, the law that governs this world and binds it together. We make it our life's work to follow this law in an attempt to make things better. We always strive to improve. Out here in Amestris, sometimes the drama gets too much. Chimeras, transmutations, shootings, killings, wars and massacres; how do you handle it all?
I can't speak for everyone, but I know how I do it. Distractions, mostly. But us alchemists... we're not without or own drama. Sometimes I think we have even more drama than the average joe. Tensions run high and sometimes you get emotionally attached to those you're supposed to destroy. But that's bad, in ever profession, so how do you handle that? Get a hobby, or a job, or maybe even both. Everything just seems so much harder in Amestris.
And yet, it's so simple at the same time.
How do you fare in the flashing lights of transmutations? Do you crack under pressure, or do you roll with the punches? Sinners are always out there; so are you amongst them, or do you side with those who want to bring salvation? It's all up to you to decide, after all, you control you own destiny, right? I just hope you have what it takes to make it in this sinning, scientific world.
But you know... sometimes I wonder: in this sin-infested world, at what point is it that the line between sinners and saints begin to blur?
This newly launched RPG is loosely based upon the episodes of the Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 anime. For intermediate/advanced writers. Enjoy!
