He nodded and took a submachine gun of the table. Again, he looked at Rose with a sad look. *Again, sorry, but I am a sergant in the militia after all. I will keep you safe, don't worry.* He smilede at her and gave every piece of positive energy into his smile, leaving all the wrong and bad things behind. Following Rose he headed outside and towards the church, always being close to Rose, and not letting her out of his sight for a moment.

Rose wasnt happy with the whole gun situation but as they neared the church she saw why Isto had been worried for her safety and now she was glad she had taken the gun. The streets were empty, the square outside the church was usually busy with people going about there business, some were usually going in to the church to pray to Leto...not toady, there was no one about. Rose hurried on, she just wanted to get into the church and talk to Cornello right away. She looked back over her shoulder to check Isto was behind her.

As Rose turned around, he smiled at her again, while checking the environment for threat. But there was no danger to be seen. Isto stopped a patroling pair of guards and asked about a situation.
*No, sir,* the replied swiftly. *We are doing fine now, yet there was an attack on the church this morning, though we managed to push the enemy back. All is quiet now.*
Isto nodded, and took Roses hand, leading her to the church.

And so comes a call of sheer war, with footsteps and giant treads working in unison. A small platoon soon rages down the hillside to the city of Lior. With a pair of armored tanks ahead of the division, and a group of armored soldiers on each side packing more heat, the fierce squad is lead by none other than the lead of the military and social chair head Fuhrer King Bradley. To some, this team poses little threat on the surface, but those who know the utter chaos that is the military of Amestris may fear for their very lives.
The rumble and thunder of the advancing legion draws nearer…

Holding on to Isto's hand they entered the church. It was quite and empty the same as it was outside and again this wasnt normal, people should be walking in and out, some should be praying. Rose was annoyed and sad at the same time. She wanted things back to the way they were, she wanted to be walking up and down the pews, picking up books and polishing the alter. The weather was better then, it was like it knew the mood over Lior. A giant grey cloud had taken over Lior and it was bringing the whole mood down.
'Isto' Rose said fighting back the tears welling in her eyes 'Do you think things will ever go back to normal around here? I just want things back to normal' she said lokking down at the cold metal in her hands and hating the weapon she held

Isto looked at Rose, and tried to smile again, but this time he failed. He saw the tears coming from her beautiful eyes, dripping down on the cold surface. He laid the submachine gun at the floor, making a step towards Rose and hugged her tightly, his head rested on her shoulder.
*Everything is going to be fine,* he whispered to her, and tried to sound convincing, though he did not really believed in what he said. How can the world return to its normal state when so many of bad things have happened?
*I love you.* He took his head up, released her from hug and looked straight in her eyes. *I love you.* His lips were shaking a bit, his eyes got wet. *You know that don't you. I will be here with you... forever. No matter what happens, Rose. I am not going to leave you.* He smiled at last, although it was difficult for him.
But on the other side of town the situation was different. The Amestris military platoon marched straight into the non-believers part of town. They crossed a few streets when everybody knew about them. As the platoon moved forward, they arrived at a small square. And everywhere around them were armed men with rifles, machine guns, RPGs and hand-grenades. They were all aiming at the Amestris military.
*I do not remember, that we requested a help from the military!* There was a guy standing on a top of townhall, speaking through a megaphone. *You are not welcomed here, no matter what are your intensions. Your army will not move freely across our lands!*
The atmosphere grew tense. Lior was already in a state of civil war, they had no objections agains fighting now.

'I love you to' she whispered back, he was only trying to make her feel better but in the mood she was in today nothing was going to make her better. She gave a weak smile and kissed him on the cheek. She wiped her eyes and stood back away from him. Her arms and body felt cold as she left his warm body behind. She moved her right arm to hold her left arm. 'We should get up to Father, Isto, I dont know whats going to happen to Lior, and i know things wont go back to the way they were but im glad i have you' she said smiling as she walked away from him. Another tear fell from her eyes...this time they were tears of joy.

Than he picked the gun a up and ran to her, grabbing her hand. *Father Cornello-sama will think of something,* he assured her. *Our beloved goddess Leto will deal with those infidels and peace will return here. Just have faith.* He leaned the submachine gun againts his shoulder. *Just have faith,* he repeated, now assuring himself.

Fuhrer Bradly turned to the man on the megaphone. Without hesitation, he spoke in a loud, yet calm voice. "We require not the... permission of your puny paramilitary forces to take action. This city of Lior is now under martial law, under the direct control of myself, until further notice." He grasped the handle of two of his court swords, "Any resistance will be met with complete and utter annihilation." Fuhrer Bradly's troops each redirected their guns, including 130mm tank barrels, at the opposing force.

The man with the megaphone was silent for a while. He looked uterly shocked. *Martial law?* he repeated with weak voice. *I should have expected this. I knew that military will move here one day. Damn those religious freaks!* Then he grew taller, he stretched his back, speaking to megaphone: *This is the free city of Lior. I am giving the last warning, TURN BACK AT ONCE! Do not expect that we will surrender to you!*

"Much as I hate this...men, take the first strike!" Bradly unsheathed one sword, leaping to the top of a tank in front of him, then leaping off it, making a dash into the city. Tanks all around fired their cannons into the buildings, directed at the infedels pointing barrels in their direction. Foot soldiers took running in squadrons, each in a different direction, barrels blazing.

Rose continued up the steps to see Father, she came before his door and knocked on it. She had always hated these big doors and wasnt sure why Father needed them. Rose turned back to Isto, 'Hope Fathers in' she said to him.

*That would be nice, if he was away again* Isto laughed nervously. *Naw he's here. He's always here.*
Nobody did answer the knock.
The man with the megaphone jumped down from the roof behind a low wall, as soon as the military started shooting. He was shocked, he did not expect the military at wage war on them so quickly, so furiously. *MAN!* he shouted into the megaphone to all Liorinas who were confused by sudden situation. *OPEN FIRE! FIGHT FOR LIOR!*
And ot once every man, woman and child of Lior on this square ¨started fireing. The bullets and rockets riped the air apart as the aimed towards the hostile forces of Amestris. Behind every column, behind every door, every window there was a gun that was shooting and killing. But the militia of Lior were no proffesional soldiers and they fighted and they died.

Rose lightly hit Isto's arm, 'We are not having another rendevous in the cupboard again' she chuckled. They had been standing outside the door now for about 10 mins now. 'Erm, do you think we should just go in?' she asked him

*Well... this is certainly weird. I guess we just... Hold on!* Something interupted his speech. Some sounds from far away... almost on the threshold of audibility. But they were there. Sounds of battle... sounds that Lior knew too well. *What on Earth is going on?* Isto ran to the nearest window facing east. *That comes from the infidels side of city!* he said to Rose in shock. *But I had no reports of any attack to that area, we are just defending the church! Somebody disobeyd the orders! Father Cornello-sama must know about this at once!* He dashed around Rose towards the door, opening them at once and finding an empty office room.

Rose was worried now, there was an enemy attack going on and Father Cornello was no where to be found. 'Father' she shouted, knowing it was quite useless, if he wasnt in his office then he was out. 'Where did he go Isto? We need him' she said, pleading with him, even though she knew it wasnt him that had taken Cornello.
Rose then ran to the big window which dominated most of Fathers office, 'Where was the fighting happening?' she asked, holding on to the window sill in some attempt to calm her nerves and stop her hands from shaking.

"You haven't seen her?!" Riza exclaimed. The situation was getting even worse; not being able to locate their guide, in the midst of chaos and gun fire. "Dammit," she said under her breath.
She turned to Mustang. "What should we do now, sir?"
(I'm playing Mustang for now)

He looked around at the men and women gathered and began having doubts about the situation. He questioned whether they should have come at all. And, even more to the point, why did Rose ask for his and Riza's help in particular? (to get back to the seemingly forgotten plot line) Roy didn't think risking everyone's lives was necessary for this part of the mission, besides, he could hear the rising sound of military guns and tanks just outside the city. He only needed a select few,...the rest should head back to Central.
"Alright people! These people are coming with me, Lt. Hawkeye, Lt. Havoc, Breda, Falman, Fuery, " he shortened it to this, " basically anyone directly under me. Everyone else, get out of the city, immediately. That's all."
"But, sir," one of the others tried to protest.
"No! Take everyone back to Central. I refuse to risk unnecessary lives. Besides, I have reason to believe an military attack is occuring right now at the outskirts of the city. Get out while you still can," he stated gravely.
Roy watched as the reinforcements he and Riza had worked so hard to recruit left. He turned to his team. "We don't know exactly what's going on here, but we need to figure it out quickly. the church seems to be the center of this town. I'm sure that if we go there, we'll get some kind of answers. Move out!"
The group ran as quickly as possible, with Havoc lagging behind due to his smoke filled lungs, but they made it to the church.
Riza made it there first.
RIZA
A well placed kick to the dead center of the double doors should have had them bursting open, but instead, the doors stayed tight. "Sir! The doors are locked from the inside."
Mustang answered, "Fine. Then we find an alternate entrance."
The group made such a ruckus finding an alternate door that Riza feared they'd be shot on sight. She kept sweeping the area, playing look out while everyone else foraged for that door.

Rose;
Rose heard a banging at the doors and immeditally looked at Isto 'Whats that?' she asked, she was really scared that it was the people who were against Lior that were trying to get in, things werent made any better by the fact that Father wasnt around.
Havoc;
Havoc was around the south side of the church with Breda following closely behind him. They found doors and tried to get them to open but they were all locked. 'This is stupid' he said as he wiped his forehead, 'the heat in this desert! I feel like im melting'. Breda huffed an answer back, he didnt care for the sun either it made him hot and sweaty which he hated, 'Just get on with it Havoc, maybe we can find a door, get in and find that girl'
Meanwhile on the otherside of the church Furey and Falman werent having much luck getting into in the building. They tried about 3 doors all locked. Deciding on heading back, Falman turned and fell over something in dust. Furey helped him up then looked down at what he had tripped up on. It was an old door handle, it was pretty rusty and covered in a layer of sand. 'Furey go back to Hawkeye and Mustang and get them to have a look at this, it may be a way inside' Falman said, brushing away more sand.
Fuery ran around the corner and ended up bumping into Breda and Havoc, who by this time were sitting on the floor. Havoc with a cig and Breda trying to fan himself with his hand. 'Sirs' Fuery shouted, 'Falman has found a way in, well he thinks he has, im going to get Hawkeye and Mustang...' he said running off and dissapearing around the corner of the church. Havoc and Breda shrugged their shoudlers at one another and walked around the corner to where Falman was.

As soon as he heard the band on the main door he ran downstairs, to the main hall. The large wooden door plated with iron were well locked. And somebody was trying to force their way in. Two guards were standing by the door, their guns at ready, prepared to shoot anyone forcing their way in.
*Men, what is going on here?*
*Sir, as soon as the battle in the eastern part of town began, we pulled back all men from square here and locked the door,* said one of the guards.
But then a tired men with a weary rifle in his hand, a shock in his face, rushed into the hall from the back door. *Sir, Infidels are under attack!*
*Well, that is a good news I think, although i did not list any command for an attack,* said Isto coldly.
*Not by ourselves!* the man shook his head. *The Amestris military charged in, declearing a martial law!*
*What?* Isto was appaled. He knew that millitary cannot be trusted, but he never though of situation going this bad. *What is the situation there?*
*We have been cut of!* said a Liorian sitting next to a telephone.
*Ok, we have to prepare for defence! Get all people from the surroundings into here! hand out all weapons and ammunition! Prepare medicaments and rally the troops! This city shall not fall!*

Ed lead Al into the city of Lior. He saw some of the military right away. "Miss Hawkeye!" He yelled as he ran to her side, "Al and I are here to help. What can we do?" He asked in urgency.
