A huge sign with what most would call a 'bad drawing' on it, said "Winry's repair shop" She spent many late nights trying to finish it and now it's done. She didn't want her grandmother to find out so she found a secluded spot where she could have her shop but be close enough to her home to get extra tools if needed.
She was hoping she would get some new idea's for auto-mail by working on other projects.

Roren had been strolling through Risembool for the past day or so. He hadn't meant to end up in this place, but once he got here, it appealed to him. The peace, tranquility, serenity. The only thing this place was missing was...
As he rounded a bend, he noticed a big, crudely drawn sign that read as follows. Winry's Repair Shop. He sighed. He loved when problems solved themselves. He had no idea who Winry was, but if it was a repair shop, he was definitely in. He walked over to the place, his hands in his pockets.
He observed a young lady, shuffling around the apparent repair shop, getting everything set up. As comical as it may have looked, the place had some serious tools lying around. Various parts spewed all over the place, half of them appeared to have been ripped from other mechanisms and reused. Often, that was the best way to get a part, and Roren respected that.
He decided to speak up. "Hey there..." He said, sounding a bit distant. "Some shop you've got set up here." He said, smirking to himself...

Winry turned around to the direction of the voice. "Hello! Winry's repair shop!" she then realized she had gotten complimented. "Oh thank you, you must know some mechanics yourself." she said with a smile. "Is there anything I can help you with?"

Roren thought for a moment. "No, honestly, I do not believe there is anything I could use help with. I suppose I was just attracted to the mechanisms, tools, et cetera. After all, there's nothing like working with mechanics to soothe the mind, you know?" He yawned, and sat on the ground, leaning onto a nearby tree. "I hope you don't mind if I stick around for a bit. I really don't have anything else to do..."
He picked a few blades of grass from the ground. As the sun beat down on his head, he smiled. It was a nice feeling, the feeling of complete relaxation. "So, are you from around here?" He asked here, closing his eyes and leaning his head to his chest in a more restful position.
"After all, you're kind of young to own a shop on your own, even if it is...different from most. Got any family here?" He crossed his legs, itching his left foot with his right. The girl didn't NEED to answer, but he supposed it was polite to make conversation.

Winry's eyes sparkled with interest. It wasn't very often someone shared her hobby. "Exactly! The smell of oil and the noise of machinery, is enough to calm ones mind."
Winry smiled at his innocent questions and decided on answering them. "Yea I live right up that hill" She said pointing to a tall yellow house. "My grandma and I have a auto-mail shop up there. I just wanted more experience for making auto-mail, so I decided to open this mini shop." she said with pride in her voice.
She looked over to the man, who now had alot of her attention, "What about you? I haven't seen you before, where are you from?" she asked.

Roren sighed. "No, I'm not. Originally, I'm from Rush Valley. But nowadays, I don't really live anywhere. I've been a mechanic since I was a young boy, and that love never died. I knew a few people interested in that new talent, Alchemy, but I decided that stuff just didn't interest me..." He laughed. "But I'm sure around here, you've got quite a few Alchemists. After all, it doesn't look like a big machinery town."
In fact, he noted that it didn't look like a big anything town, really. It was just an oasis in a desert of chaos. Seemed like the inhabitants would be blissfully unaware of the dangers that truly lay out there.
"So, your grandma owns an auto-mail shop? I used to work in one, myself. Auto-mail always interested me. It's definitely the height of humanity's skill with machinery..."

Winry smiled a lil, thinking about her friends Edward and Alphonse. "Yea, there are some alchemists around here. They are my friends. One of them has auto-mail, so I build it for him." A small smile crossed her face thinking about it.
Winry's thought's went back to what he said. "YOU LIVED IN RUSH VALLEY?!?!" she said in complete surprise. She has always wanted to go there, where many other auto-mail mechanics were. She knew she could get a lot of new ideas, and parts but just never had the money to go. Although, with Edward always breaking the auto-mail they should have enough. Slowly wheels started turning in her head.

Roren laughed at the girl's enthusiasm. "Yeah, I was born in Rush Valley. Lived there until..." He stopped short. This girl didn't need to know about his past like that. "Until I moved away, starting wandering around. I love the place, I visit regularly. But the fact is, sometimes you need a change of pace, you know?" He sighed. "Must be why you're so interested in Rush Valley. This place, Risembool, is amazing to me, because it manages to be both peaceful and full of life. But you've lived here your whole life. You must be used to all this by now."
He stood, and walked over to a pile of machinery that was piled behind her, tinkering with it a bit. "Actually, I thought about opening my own shop in Rush Valley. But I just...can't stay in one place anymore. I guess it's just being ignorant." He smirked, turning toward her.
"So, tell me, do you need any help around here? I'm bored, so obviously, getting something to do would help..."

Winry smiled and nodded, "Yea if you want you can help with this." she said pointing over to a near by motor. "I been working on this for awhile."she said with a smile. "I guess my mind has been distracted." she said sighing for letting her thoughts get in the way of work.

Roren walked over to the motor, observing it. He withdrew a couple screwdrivers and a wrench from his pockets, and started inspecting each individual aspect of the machine. "Well, all of us get distracted sometimes. I don't finish half of what I start, unless I have to." He smirked. "Sometimes you put extra work into a project that means something to you. That don't happen often for me, though." He laughed, turning a bolt to open the shell, and inspecting the inner workings of the engine.
"Usually, you care about something when you're doing it for someone. But I lost contact with everyone a long time ago. Needless to say, the only thing that motivates me nowadays are money and raw curiosity." He yawned, rubbing his eyes. He didn't get any sleep last night. Generally, operating machinery wasn't a good idea when one was groggy, but it's kinda like driving drunk. Roren had done it so many times, he was used to it...

Winry sliently listened to his story. She just smiled and watched as he worked on it. Noticing his style on working on things. "Oh, if Edward ever comes home. I'll have to show you the auto-mail I designed." she said with a smile. She didn't have too many people around who could talk to her about this sorta thing so it was nice.
Winry picked up some more tools, and went to work as well.

Roren nodded. "I'd like to see it. But if he's busy, don't feel any obligation." He sighed as he reconnected a few wires inside. "If you keep mentioning it, it must be something. The only problem is I'd feel the need to take it apart and figure out exactly what you did. And I doubt this Ed would really enjoy that..." He laughed as he reattached the chassis of the engine. "I suppose we could see if that fixed it up, though I really doubt it."
He smirked. "I designed and worked on some of the best auto-mail out there at one time. It's probably the ideal job. I could design and fix for hours and hours on end. I used to get virtually no sleep. Well, I still don't, but back then, it used to be because I'd spend all my time on that. Sleeping wasted hours."
Scratching the back of his head, he looked around for something else to work on while the engine's condition was still in doubt. "So, what's this Ed doing right now?"

Winry thought for a minute, "He travels so I don't hear from him much. I'll be lucky if he comes by here acually." She thought of the idea of Ed getting his automail taken apart piece by piece by his very eyes, and she shook her head. "Yea Edward wouldn't like being taken apart. Not one bit." she said nodding her head to prove her case further.

Roren chuckled a bit at the thought of this Edward flipping out about his auto-mail. Granted, he had never seen Ed, but he knew from her tone that it would most likely be an amusing rant. He pulled a handgun out of his pocket. Seeing the look on her face, he held up his hands. "Sorry, a little bored..."
Taking apart the gun piece by piece, with the precision of a surgeon, the thing lay open and in parts in front of him in a minute or so. He'd been dismantling this very gun over and over for a few years, so naturally he had memorized exactly where he needed to focus to take it apart.
He sighed. "So, tell me, how long have you been interested in mechanics?"

Winry watched has he took apart his gun, and done it with such ease. "Oh, I been into Machanics for many years now. It's been so long I'm not sure how many years exactly. How about you?" she asked with a curious look on her face. She looked up at the sky and sheilded her eyes from the beating hot sun that was threating to ruin the day with it's heat.
