The day was starting out like any other day for King Bradly. He woke up, said is morning greetings to his family, then went off to work. He'd beem running the military for so long now he was beginning to suspect that the other Homunculi weren't taking their duties to aquire the Philosipher's Stone as seriously as they should be. Until they got it he would be forced to continue working here, trying his best to make sure nobody overpowered him until what he liked to call 'The Promised Day'.
Overpower him, yeah right. He smirked at this idea, the red tatto on his left eye shining behind the black eyepatch that covered it, his black mustache raising as his lips went into a sneer. Overpowering him wouldn't be that easy. Only the Flame Colonel, Roy Mustang, was truely a threat to him there, but not for much longer. Not if Lust, Gluttony, and Envy succeeded in their plans for the Elric brothers.
*My attempt at a RP here. Let me know how I'm doing and if you wanna join please! ^^*

Sloth hurried inside Central HQ and saw Pride just entering. "Pr-Um...Mr. Fuhrer, sir," called Sloth, catching her mistake at almost mentioning King Bradley's true name. She walked up to him and and said in a hushed tone, "Sir, Envy needs our help. I need records on a few military members. Master would talk to you herself, but she does not want to distract you from your duties. I need documented personal information on Maes Hughes, Riza Hawkeye, and...Roy Mustang."

"Ah, of course," Pride said with a smile. At least he knew he could count on Sloth. She actually reported things to him, and actually did things that were important to thier plans, and swiftly at that matter. "Please, accompany me to my office if you would."
Pride led Sloth to his office, on the top floor of Central HQ. He closed the door behind them and locked it tight. He crossed the carpet and closed the blinds on the window behind his oak desk as well. He opened a drawer in the side of his desk, a sort of secret compartment only he knew about. In it he kept secret files of all those who were under his watchful eye. He pulled out three cream colored envelopes and handed them to Sloth.
"So, what may I ask are these files needed for?" Pride asked as he sat down at his desk. "Not that I can't guess, but still. Its good to know that I can count on you for these type of things, my friend. The others are a little inconpetant." He didn't address her as 'Sloth' for fear of anybody who might be lurking outside the closed door. Even with the patch over his eye, he could sense they were safe, but it was best to be cautious.

((I am going to move this to the Military Base Thread because I just realized that the title is HQ...there is already an HQ elsewhere on the site))

Sloth took the files out of Pride's hands. "I must thank you for trusting me...It makes me...happy to know you can do so." Sloth bowed her head and closed her eyes before speaking slowly and monotonously. "There's someone eavesdropping on us-the homunculi that is. Envy's going to kill them within the next two weeks. However, instead of actually doing some work, he wanted me to get personal files on our suspects," finished Sloth with a sigh. She looked up and opened her eyes. "That's why."

"Well, I'm glad I could be of service," Pride said, closing his eye as he smiled. "People like us aren't fully disconnected from emotional attatchment, you know. Ah, speaking of Envy..." Here Pride lowered his voice. He could hear footsteps drawing closer. Unlikely they belonged to anyone threatening at the present time, but still...
"How are things coming alone? I can only get so much information from inside this place. Lately there have been some terrorist threats and I haven't been able to get in contact with the others. From what I understand, the Elric Brothers are closer than ever before, yes?"
The footsteps faded on down the hall, and Pride leaned back in his chair, stacking some paperwork, looking busy if somebody were to bust the door down or something along those lines.
"Oh, a little note of interest," Pride said as he placed the papers at the side of his desk. "Have we been able to locate Greed yet? He's been gone for some time now. We should have a 'family reunion', if you know what I mean."

Sloth noticed that Pride was lowering his voice, someone had to be coming. She lowered hers as well as she spoke, "The threats haven't been from us. Not with an intruder snooping around. We're trying to keep a low profile. And, ah, yes, the Elric brothers are very close right now, they are going to be rather...annoying...later on."
Sloth sighed and answered Pride's last question, "No, we haven't been able to locate Greed yet. He was supposed to make an appearance with the others, but from what I understand, he hasn't come." With the files clutched in her hands across her chest, she walked toward the door. Sloth turned around and gave Pride a last look before she left. "Goodbye."
She opened the door, making her way through the numerous hallways and corridors to get to the entrance. She wouldn't be able to use the river that she used to get to Central. Not with the files in her hands.

After Sloth left, Pride decided to check and see how things were progressing downstairs. He would most likely be called upon to deal with some matter or other, so he might as well get a head start. He heaved a sigh, unlocked the door, and headed downstairs.
I suppose Sloth must have left the building, he thought to himself, unable to see his comrade anywhere.
He came into the main command center for Central's base of operations. Men and women in blue uniforms littered the place, their fingers racing over typewriters, their eyes flying through paperwork. Only two people really caught his eye, though. A rather large man with a single lock of blonde hair and a dark-haired man with glasses conversing with him.
Major Armstrong, though strong, knew nothing of Pride's plans. However, Maes Hughes was another story. He knew something about the Homunculi. What, Pride did not know. What he did know was that this issue needed to be addressed before it got out of hand.
