The only issue with this is that we (the staff) will have no ability to ban people from it...last time we had it we had issues...I know there's a different chatbox we can use...but you actually have to sign up...I don't want to make people sign up to chat...
We did have issues last time with people leaving really annoying remarks...but they all came from one member who is no longer active...
What do you think?

ALSO if we do go back, I am going to overhaul the site again and things will be moved around.

I vastly prefer xat over other chatting programs, as it’s one of the few chat boxes that my computer can actually handle with no problem. The chat boxes inserted into the page on other sites greatly hinders my activity, and I really would rather that didn’t happen here. Signing up is also a big negative and scares off newcomers. Why would we want to change from the xat chat in the first place?

I have been told privately that people don't like the Chat Box...So I decided to leave it up to a vote. I am glad you actually explained your standing...I want to have that so I can make an informed decision when the time comes
I prefer it myself because it chats in real time...the previous chat we had wasn't in real time and you had to refresh in order to see what others typed.

the current chat box is awesome. i visit alot of other sites every day and look at there complaint threads, and trust me there are always going to be complaints. so unless we want to start paying for a really "great" chat box we should be happy that we have one that isn't usually broke, or that has an unusual number of bugs. there are even a couple of site that have older chat boxes that have been hacked to spread viruses when you chat, so the site there on cant even be accessed without crashing your computer 2 out of 3 times. xat is a great chat box, and i would like it to stay, but that is just my vote. *steps off of soap box and casts dirty looks at other sites with they're other chat boxes.*

Why don't you use Chatango.com you can block people off of that. IP ban not just name bans for a set time. Me personally I don't want to waste my time making an account I barely use since I never go on XAT chats

I am new here and use both Xat and Chatango they both ahve pros and cons but Chatango is better for the following reasons
~Can be placed within skin so you do not log in/out if you switch pages and you can chat from any page ~You can ban easier ~The Box itself looks nicer ~You can clean the chat quicker and easier
Also you should overhaul the site whether you change boxes or not as the site is really messy and cluttered currently and move the chat box to the bottom as that makes it look better IMO.

With the Xat you don't have to log in and out...SOMETIMES it doesn't think enough so it will log you out...but in my experience that is rare
And as for overhauling the site, so far almost everyone wants it to stay this way (in other words, the majority) so the site, for now, will stay the way it is. I don't find it cluttered at all. I have made it a point to make sure it is organized.

The XAT Chat Box is a good one, considering it doesn't slow down computers like many chat boxes do. I know when Tai and I made our site, we tried another one first, and it slowed down my computer, while Tai couldn't use it at all, and all the other members complained about it as well. Since we got the XAT one, no one has had anything bad to say about it.
So, I would say don't try to fix something that isn't broken. Unless you end up with a big problem and you need to ban someone from the chat box, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
