"That's the Martel I know alright." Dorochette commented slightly amused at the snake chimera's sharp tongue. "I don't think you should worry so much about him." The dog chimera silently whispered back as quite as he could. "He seems to be just as much of a lapdog to that boss lady as I am to mister Greed." He commented lightly.

The snake chimera smirked slightly, frowning when Ariana started crying again. "You have no idea how much I want to just slit that whore's throat and grab my babies" she told Dorochet narrowing her eyes at Sloth, who had already begun comforting the newborn.

"I think I can imagine pretty well. Though I'm not going to claim that I understand your motherfeelings compleetly." Dorochette said soothing. "I'm sorry Martel but please just contain your temper, I don't think it would be healthy if you didn't." He added.

Martel hissed slightly. She had to admit, Dorochet did have a point---things definitely wouldn't go well if she attacked Sloth. Especially now, when not only was she exhausted but she was still unable to use her stretching abilities. That meant it would be nearly impossible for her to win a fight against these homunculi.

Envy slowly started approaching as he heard Martel and Dorochette conversing among themselves. . .When he heard his name mentioned, accompanied with some other words he couldn’t make out, more probably then not insults, he got somewhat ticked. ”We’re all right here, you know. You really can’t contain yourselves, can you? Come on now. So we can hear you.”. Envy chuckled slightly.
Envy had noticed the slight resemblance to Greed in Martel’s male child, but he honestly didn’t give a damn. Despite being as sadistic as he was, he wasn’t one to attack people based off their relations. . .Unless they were related to him, of course. Envy’s father and mother were his two most hated individuals in the world. He didn’t have any control over that, and neither did these infants over who their father was.
Truth be told, Envy didn’t even detest Greed himself all that much. . .He’d actually gotten along with him quite nicely until he betrayed the rest of them. Why did he show such hatred for him? Because he was envious of him. While other homunculi had betrayed Dante in the past, their judgements were swift. Greed, however; had been living the good life, free as could be, for a considerable time. Envy was considerably jealous of Greed’s freedom and wanted him to suffer like he was, serving Dante. Envy pondered why Dante was taking so long to take any action against him. . .

"Yeah we notised." Dorochette said lightly. "But I'm sure you can guess and imagine it for yourself just as easely." He added meaning the insults. Maybe the homonculus would break his head over the question as to what they had been mumbling enough to leave them alone.

"Unless that's too much of a job for your mind to handle" Martel said in a mocking tone. It was taking pretty much all her willpower to keep from smirking. Although, seeing Envy explode would probably be fairly entertaining.

Envy folded his arms and rolled his eyes. ”Unlike you idiots, I actually know when to keep my mouth shut. I know when to not let my temper get the better of me. . .I hardly need to behave here in comparison to you rats. Your lives are on the line here. Show some actual maturity, will you? I’d think you’d of had some discipline beat into you after having been imprisoned and experimented on for so long.”. Envy snorted slightly in satisfaction.

"Losing my temper? I think we are being pretty calm right now." The dog chimera protested. If he had lost his temper he would probably have tried slicing Envy up, not just insult him. He had been very tempted to give other more nasty comments but he managed to keep a hold of himself and not do so. After all the palmtree had a point there lifes were on the line here.

"Enough of this frivolous banter! We haven't much time until the candle burns out."
Dante had grown tired of listening to them whisper amongst themselves. Not even three minutes ago she told them that they would have to hurry if they hoped to make it out of the labyrinth in time, and here they were exchanging insults. Then again, considering who she was dealing with here, that was hardly surprising.
Although she disliked comparing herself with her son, she had to admit that he inherited her quick wit. That, along with his hatred of humans, made him extremely difficult to get along with. And here he was escorting a hot headed young woman with a temper that would make even Izumi uncomfortable. Not only that, but her little friend also seemed to have quite a mouth on him. She was in for one nightmarishly long walk.
"Let's get moving, shall we?" Turning away from them, she walked toward the staircase she came down a few minutes earlier. Ascending it once again, she led the others through the hallway that connected the cavern to the main laboratory and into the foyer.
Compared to the room they just came in from, the foyer was a pleasant sight to behold. Numerous paintings decorated the stone walls, and a large chandelier hung above their heads. Of course, the lights were off in this room as well, so it was difficult to see its grandeur. The disgusting scent that filled the cavern was gone, and in its place was a pleasant aroma of honey and cucumber.
"Soon we will be passing through the holding cell of my latest creation, so prepare yourselves for some rather... disturbing sights," she warned them nonchalantly as she led them to the double doors at the other end of the room.

Martel shrugged slightly, following after Dante. She did have some level of night-vision, but at the same time, she didn't want to be stuck out here. Something about this place made her nervous.
Sloth also followed her master, though she moved slightly closer as to ask her a question. "Master, if it's alright, there are somethings I feel the need to ask you" the calm homunculus said, keeping her tone even and showing respect.

Envy nodded at Dante as she told them to hurry along. "THANK YOU." Envy let out in an annoyed tone, glad that she'd finally gotten them to shut up. "Heh heh. . .You guys are in for a real treat. Hurry along now. Wouldn't want to get killed by IT. . .If I recall I heard you mumbling something about liking Glutony in comparison to the rest of us, no? Don't worry. We've produced an exceptional replacement for that mistake.".

Dante glanced over at her servant as she pulled the double doors open. "What is it?"
A thick purple miasma poured into the chamber as soon as she opened the doors. While it wasn't toxic, it smelled disgusting and was strong enough to make someone vomit if they stayed in it for too long. She winced when she smelled it, but since she had been around it for so long, it did not bother her nearly as much as she once did.
Stepping into the next hallway, she covered her mouth with her free arm. The light from her candle revealed massive claw marks on the walls, along with what looked like large puddles of blood and pus on the floor. A large hole was in the wall to the right, and debris was scattered all over the floor.
"Watch your step, everyone," she warned them, stepping over a puddle of blood.

"Do you believe that the infants will be able to ingest the red stones?" Sloth asked her master, deciding to get straight to the point.
Okay, now this was at least the fourth level of Hell, if not lower, in Martel's eyes. It smelt a bit like the Fifth Labratory short after the special operations squad was turned into chimeras. Only this was much, much, worse.

Dante paused for a moment. "Not immediately, but within a few months they should be able to."
Before she could continue with her answer, a horrifying shriek rang through the destroyed hallway. High pitched and shrill, it sounded like it was full of unimaginable suffering. Accompanying the loud roar were the cries of a little girl, but they were so faint that they were difficult for a normal human to pick up on. Whatever it was, it sounded absolutely otherworldly.
The ground began to shake as it continued to roar. What remained of the right wall collapsed, revealing nothing but darkness behind it. Something could be heard collapsing in the distance, followed by a loud thud. As the dust cleared, the awful screams slowly faded into an unsettling silence. The outburst only lasted for about a minute, but it seemed like it went on for an eternity.
"It's grown into the new wing so soon? Unbelievable..." she whispered to herself, then looked over her shoulder. "Are the children all right?"

As though answering the hag's question, the once sleeping newborns began to whimper, attempting to suck on their fists.
"They're probably just afraid of the noise" Sloth said, smiling slightly as the two of them quieted down once again.
Martel winced slightly as the horrible sound echoed through the area. "What the hell was that?" she asked, unsure if she really wanted to know the answer.

Envy didn’t mind the blood and guts at all just as he hadn’t minded them before, but the awful stench was rather annoying. While he could just simply transform away his nose, he still needed air, so it wouldn’t exactly help all that much. Envy just did as his master did and put an arm over his face to try to cover up the stench. Envy held his ears in annoyance again as the host child screamed, holding for a good period after it’d stopped, mumbling a curse. After hearing what Dante said about it’s “progress”, Envy got all the more pissed.
”What? It’s sprouting fucking wings and you’re acting as if that’s a good thing? It’s already fucking huge. We’ll just have to cut them off later. . .”. Envy mumbled under his breath. He imagined he’d probably be tasked with that, and he wasn’t exactly looking forward to it after it caught him so off-guard with a simple grab back during his first encounter with the chimera. Envy was finally beginning to lose his cool and was getting into a bad mood. Why did he agree to help oversee this, again?

"You'll see soon enough, dear."
Making sure to avoid the many puddles of bodily fluid on the ruined floor, she made her way across the destroyed hallway, looking over her shoulder every now and then to make sure no one tripped over anything. The last thing she wanted was for Sloth to trip and drop the babies in a pile of blood.
After a minute she reached the end of the hallway. Everyone seemed to be in good condition, something she was grateful for. Turning the knob, she tried to open the door, but was disappointed to find that it was jammed shut. She yanked on it a few more times, then sighed and clapped her hands together. Placing them on the door, she blasted it open, causing the creature to wail in pain.
She stepped inside the next room and looked down at the floor, wrinkling her nose in disgust when she saw a fleshy tentacle squirming about on the floor. The stump that her alchemy tore it from quickly retracted into a whole in the ceiling. Its growth was so out of control that it was blocking the hallways, it seemed. She really needed to find some way to get it under control.
"Envy, you may have to do some dismembering for us if we run into any more appendages," she told him. "And I suggest you calm down. If your temper upsets the children, you'll pay for it later."
Moving to the end of the hallway, she frowned when she came upon the source of the crash. The chamber at the end of the hallway had been completely destroyed, and in its place was a massive blob of flesh and tentacles. In the center of this mess of rotten organs was a gigantic eye that seemed to be watching them intently. Part of its body broke through a nearby holding area and fell through the chamber ceiling.
Sighing, she rubbed her temples. "Well, this is perfect. I don't think you'll be able to cut through something this big, Envy. I need to think of another way for us to get through..."
One of the tentacles crept onto the floor once she finished speaking. Opening the small mouth at its tip, it hacked up blood and whined pathetically. Noticing this, she raised an eyebrow. "It wounded itself...."

Martel tensed slightly, a reflex she had when seeing something unknown. She would admit she was freaked out by what she saw, but not aloud. "What the hell...is that the 'replacement' for Gluttony" she asked, glancing at the green-haired bastard.
Small whining noises came from the babies in Sloth's arms. Apparently they were still somewhat awake, and none too pleased with the cries and groans of the creature.

Envy turned to Martel and grinned. ”It’s everything the original was supposed to be. Mindless. Nothing but the desire to feed. . .It can’t think on it’s own. It exists to be used by others. Gluttony was never meant to be anything more then a weapon, and this upgrade only takes things all the further and makes it even more powerful.”.
Envy chuckled to himself, then turned to the heaping pile of guts that blocked their way. He turned both his arms into blades and proceeded to begin hacking and slashing his way through, seeing Dante was still thinking of a way around anyway. ”Relax, this won’t take long. Just gimme a couple minutes.”. Envy laughed slightly as he sliced and diced at the pile of meat. Even if it wasn’t human, it still satisfied his bloodlust to just relentlessly hack away and cover himself in blood.
