"Alright, sir. I also believe you were supposed to be meeting with General Reece from Western HQ at around 1000 this morning, but as you've missed that, I took the liberty of telling Cheska to reschedule it for you," Riza added professionally.

I'm not going to ask him what's wrong. I refuse! You stay professional at the office, Riz! Riza told herself. She immediately sat back down in her chair and began working on the paperwork once again.

Hayate soon grew bored of watching the two troubled humans. He yawned and curled up between Roy's shoes, his tail thumping against the floor rhythmically. He looked up at them once more, then fell asleep.

Hughes was walking by and saw Riza and Mustang and saw Mustange looked more grumpy then usual.

Say there Mustang, what's wrong? sounding tottaly unproffesional.

Hayate glanced up and saw the newly arrived Hughs. He barked twice happpily, and wagged his tail, hoping Hughs might play with him.

Riza immediately saluted to Hughes. "Good afternoon, sir!"

Maybe Hughes could figure out what in the world was going on with the Colonel.

Hughes looked at Hayate and smiled.

I got something for you sport!

He pulled out of his pocket a spikey hard rubber ball that he could gnaw on and play with when there was nobody else around and gently through it to him.

Ed walked in to the HQ. "Hello sirs." He said when Roy caught his eye. He glared at him, "...sir..." he forced out of his mouth. "Hey there black Hayate!" He said as he walked up to the dog to pet him. He let out a nice smile.

Al followed after Ed. He saluted and walked to Black Hayte still carrying a cat on his shoulders. The cat was really nervous and it jumped from Al's shoulders straight at Roy Mustang's face. "Uh... sorry Sir" He walked towards Roy to remove the cat from his face. Roy's face looked scratched.
Maybe I should go and see Mr. Tucker now to check on Nina. "Brother would you mind if I'm going to Mr.Tucker's place? Will you be OK?"

Ed smiled at Al, "Yeah, sure...not a problem." He told his brother. He watched his brother leave. He then turned to his superiors, "Do you have anything for me sirs?" He asked.

Riza sent a pointed look at her Colonel. "Sir, Fullmetal and Lt. Colonel Hughes are here," she introduced them, falling back on protocol. Riza glanced at Hughes and gave him a look that said simply, 'do something to get him to pay attention or I will'. It was a rather menacing look.

[Chip]

Black Hayate barked happily at the brothers who had entered the room. He wagged his tail as Ed pet him, then spotted the cat on Al's shoulder. He growled playfully and began to run at the cat, hoping for a fun new game to come out of it.

Roy's face was still scrached up.
"Err, as a matter of fact we do have a few things we would like to get done,Ed!"
pulls out a list that is almost longer than himself,with Riza on his left, Hughes on his right,and Black Hayate at his feet.
"Ahem,number one- clean out Black Hayate's cage.
number two- Give Black Hayate a bath.

Riza tried hard not to laugh at Roy's rediculous list. No one would know that she was struggling to keep her professional mask on, but she was. All we need now is for Hughes to break out the photos, Armstrong to come in here and start blabbing about his family line, and Roy to call Fullmetal some dirivative of the word short. Fullmetal'd probably have a fit!

Ed stopped petting Black Hayate immidiately and glared up at Mustang. "Take care of the dog? I am the FullMetal Alchemist...and you want me to take care of the dog?" He asked angrily. This is stupid! Why did I even come if I was going be treated like a dog groomer... He glanced over at Hawkeye and then to Hughes hoping one of them would overrule him. Then he remembered that he outranked both of them. He glared back to Mustang, "Fine...but the rest on the list better be more important..." He said as he walked off. "Come on Hayate..." He called to the dog.

The dog barked joyously at Ed as he walked out of the room. Hayate ran to boy ((how old is Ed??)) and trotted along beside him. Suddenly sinister thought crossed his mind. What if we're going back to that training room?! The dog whimpered but then, noticing that they weren't going in the right direction, gave a sigh of relief. He looked up at Ed and barked again, wanting attention.

Ed looked down to the dog and smiled, "You know...the one good thing about this is that I am at least spending time with you rather then Mustang..." He said as he lead the dog right outside the HQ building. He grabbed the hose, "Ok, ready for your bath?" He asked as he held the hose up to the little dog.

[Chip]

Hayate ran circles around Ed, jumping and barking happily. Then, running back to pick up some speed, the dog charged at Ed and jumped onto his chest. After successfully bringing the fullmetal alchemist to the ground, Hayate grabbed the hose in his mouth and began to run around Ed again. Finally he sat and looked at his handy work. He had managed to circle the blond enough so that he was tied by the hose. He panted cheerfully as his tail wapped the concrete beneath him.

Ed didn't see it coming until it was too late. He had been completely tied up by the little dog. "Huh? Hayate!" Ed started kicking around trying to loosen the hose from around him. "If I didn't know any better I would say that Mustang convinced you to do this! Let me out of here!" He growled at the dog. He kept kicking trying to loosen the hose.

Back with the adults Riza had managed to keep her calm exterior. "Lt. Colonel Hughes, is there something you needed from the Colonel?" she asked politely.

She hoped beyond hope that he didn't to show everyone yet another pictures of Gracia or Elysia,...she didn't think she'd be able to survive that kind of assult today.
