And so it begins!

Ed walked into a warehouse, "Mustang said to meet him here..." he said as he looked at a little slip of paper. He then turned his head so he could see the entrance to the warehouse, "Al, you coming or not?" He yelled to Al. I don't even know why I am here... he thought. He turned on a light and saw baloons, streamers, and food.

Ed walked up to the food confused, "What the?" He asked himself. "Al hurry! Come look at this!" He shouted again.

[emelie]

As soon as Winrey seen the confused Ed walk into the warehouse she signaled everyone to jump out of there hiding places to yell " Surprise!" Winrey then ran up to Ed and gave Ed a huge hug and quick small peck on the cheek."Happy Birthday, Ed."

[Chip]

Black Hayate was sitting in a back room of the warehouse, chewing on a toy. I'm bored, I wish someone would play with me. He stood and looked around, hoping to see Roy or Riza. Neither were nearby. He heard someone talking in the next room. Then suddenly he heard a crowd shout "Surprise!" He dashed into the next room and flew threw the air at Ed.

[AG]

Ed was caught by surprise by the hug, but he was even more so caught by surprise when it came to the kiss. His face turned more red then a ripe apple. He pushed Winrey away as quickly as he could. Sweat was pouring from his face as he looked around nervously for anyone who may have seen that interaction. "What did ya do that for Winrey? heh" He laughed nervously, still looking as embarrased as ever. Oh man, what was that? Does she like me? Was that a friendly kiss? Should I kiss her back? NO! I shouldn't...but what if that is what she wants? NO! Don't do it...you will be the laughing stalk... He argued with himself in thought. He smiled hoping the blush would leave his face. He stood up tall, placed his hand on the back of his head, and spoke, "Heh, thanks...Winrey..." He said still with a nervous tone.

Just as he spoke he saw a black and white furball rushing toward him. "Hayate!" He yelled, perfect way to change the subject! He thought as he knelt down to the puppy.

"Oh nothing." Winrey said with a smile and a wink. But in her mind she wasn't too sure it was nothing. She had saw how flustered Ed was. Why did I do that? It was totaly on impulse. I just did it as a friendly kiss, right? I mean friends kiss each other on the cheek right? Then why am I feeling so disappointed that he didn't kiss me back and I am frustrated that stupid little puppy ruined the moment. Ugh! Winrey sighed frustrated and knelt down next to Ed to pet the puppy. She looked at Ed and thought. Ed what are your true feelings for me.

[Chip]

The dog panted happily as Ed began to pet him, but then Hayate looked at Winrey. He could sense that she was frustrated, as dogs always seem to be able to sense feelings, and he was pretty sure she was frustrated with him. He whimpered and cowered away when she raised her hand towards him, sure that she was about to strike him. The dog moved behind Ed, his tail between his legs.

[Ling Yao]

"Uh, brother. I forgot it is your birthday. Wait, I have a present for you."
He opened his chest and took out a cat. It was yellow with white stripes on.
"Take care of you brother. He's a bit shy" The cat jumped at Ed's face and scratched it so badly that Ed had to cry. "Sorry"

[AG]

Ed screamed as the cat began to scratch him, "Al! What the hell?"

After the cat was done scratching him it jumped down and looked at Black Hayate, it wanted to fight. Ed looked at the cat with his face scratched, a few tears fell from his eyes from the pain. He would have picked up the cat but he was afraid that it may scratch him again. "Al! Why did you bring me a cat? Didn't you learn anything from the LAST cat you picked up?" He scolded his little brother.

Winrey was startled out of her thoughts by Ed's scream. She immediately rushed over to Ed. "Oh my Ed, are you alright?" She said as she started examining his scratches. She then dug in her bag and pulled out a small first aid kit. "It's a good thing I always carry this with me." She opened it up pulled out some antiseptic wipes to clean Ed's scratches with. "Now hold still this may sting a little"she said as she moved closer to his face to clean his scratches. But as Winrey got closer to his face something stirred in her that over took her, caught her breath and she couldn't move , all she could do was stare into his golden eyes.
Only one single thought played in her mind and it became a desire in her heart. Ed, I want to kiss you. Please kiss me.

Ed saw it in her eyes, this was new for him. His eyes widened as he pushed away, "Winrey! I can clean my own scratches!" He yelled as he grabbed the wipe from her hands and began wiping his face. He started to tear from the stinging, "ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!" He said as he wiped. After he was done he looked at Winrey again, "See?" He looked away and blushed a little.

Winrey felt a wave of hurt wash over her as Ed pushed away. So much so that it brought tears to her eyes. She turned around quickly to hide them from Ed. "Fine, Ed."she said harshly. The harshness in her own voice surprised her. Get a hold of your self ,Winrey. she thought to her self. Like Ed is really going to kiss you. He doesn't like you like that and you are just being stupid to think so. If you keep pulling stuff like this, he is gonna ask you to go home. So snap out of it!
She sighed to regain her composure and wiped the tears from her eyes. She turned back around to face Ed. As she looked at him butterflies fluttered around in her stomach and she tried to ignore them. "Let me at least put a bandage on for you." She smiled sweetly at him. Oh Ed, if you only knew what you do to me.

[AG]

Ed tried to look unphased when she started to cry. He looked back to her as she yelled at him, I'm sorry Winrey...ugg, why can't I just SAY it rather then thinking it! He thought to himself, Ok, just say it...I'm sorry... "Winrey...." He started as he turned to her just as she asked to bandage him. "I...can do that myself too!" He exclaimed as he grabbed the bandages and walked over to Al. That was not what I planned.

[Ling Yao]

"Sorry brother. It was so cute co I picked it up. I thought you would like it since you wanted to keep a cat when you were small"
Al saw Winrey burst into tears. "Brother...." "Winry..." he went near Winry to hug her

Ed looked at his brother, "Cats are cute...until they turn into little devils like that thing." He joked as he started to bandage his face. He saw his brother walk to Winrey, "Oh sure, you go to her side when she is upset!" Ed joked as he finished with his face.

[Ling Yao]

"Don't joke about this. Don't you see you've upset Winry? And whatever you say cats are cute."

[AG]

Ed was caught by surprise when Al scolded him. He felt bad, he knew Winrey was upset but he was uncomfortable. That is what he always did to feel better about a situation, joke. He walked up to Winrey, "I'm, sorry Winrey...I didn't mean to make you feel bad..." He said to her.

[emelie]

"Fine Ed, do what ever you want." she said frustrated. She bent down and scooped up the puppy into her arms. Then she turned her back on him again cuddling the little puppy close as the tears began to form in her eyes once again. Ugh, he can be so stubborn. Why won't he let me help him. Doesn't he want me near him any more? Why is he pushing me away. Maybe the kiss scared him away. Why did i do something so stupid. Suddenly she felt her self being held by big metal arms. The metal felt cool and soothing. "Thanks, Al." she said trying to mask her tears. Why can't Ed be as understanding and sensitive as his little brother?

Hearing Ed apologizing both startled her and made her heart melt. Maybe he is?
Winrey turned around to face him. She looked deeply into Ed's eyes and she could see the sincerity in his eyes. "It's okay, Ed. It's probably my fault anyway. I let my emotions get away from me. I just really care about you but I don't know if you feel the same way about me so I got upset. I am sorry, Ed." She looked him deeply in the eyes searching for his feelings.

[AG]

The uncomfortable feeling flooded his body again. "Heh, well, as long as you are alright..." He said as he walked away and to the food table. He started eaiting the food, one bite at each plate. He reached the drinks and realized, "Milk?" He asked disgustedly. He turned to the other people at the party, "Who the hell brought that vomit tasting liquid to my party?" He asked as he glared at everyone, including Black Hayate.

What! That is all he is gonna say to me? I just poured my heart out to him and he says "well, as long as you are alrigh"t that then goes to rant about the milk! Well I am sorry, I am not going to just accept that.
She stomped over to where Ed was and faced him.
"Is that all you have to say to me?" She glared at him.
