Martel nodded and quickly started to make her way around the wall that Dante had brought up. Now that the stone snakes had ceased appearing, it wasn't very difficult to do that. Once she reached the edge of the wall, she looked past the corner and unsheathed her knife, rapidly extending her arm in order to stab Sloth a number of times. The Homunculus didn't really seem effected. "Damn" Martel hissed slightly, "Looks like we're just going to have to risk it without having a way to really take her down". With that, the snake chimera simply took her own advice, quickly rushing towards the vehicle. If she could reach the car, or at least get within a distance her limbs could extend, she could kill the driver and have an easier time of retrieving her newborns.

Sloth laughed at Martel's futile attempt to stab her to death. This wasn't even going to be a challenge for her. "Master, leave me here! I shall dispose of these two."

Sloth was going up against three opponents, but they were mere chimera's. Nothing she couldn't handle. Her first target was Martel, as the snake woman ran towards the car Sloth tried to intercept her. She quickly liquefied her arms and shot them towards Martel. Her legs also turned into liquid just incase she needed to travel quickly towards her opponents.

Once Dorochette had reached the other end of the wall as well he decided that their best chance was probably if he bought Martel some time. Instantly he attacked Sloth, stabbing through her not yet liquid chest in hope he's be able to wound her into having to regenerate so he could keep attacking her meanwhile. He vaguely remember Greed once saying something about not being able to use his ability when regenerating at the same time. So Dorochette went for that way as a temporary plan as he pressed his katana through the homonculus solide chest.

One good thing about being combined with a serpent was the ability to react faster than a normal human. She was able to jump out of the way of the watery tendrils. And once she was past the imediate threat, she once again made her way towards the car. She just had to kill the driver before he could drive away; that was all she needed to do. And the car wasn't even that far away, maybe ten feet---she could make it, easy.

Dante glanced over her shoulder as the car began moving down the street and saw that Sloth was locked in combat with the dog chimera. It was a shame that she had to leave her minion behind, but she could not allow those worthless fools to take her latest specimens again. There was much work to be done, and she was all ready behind schedule. The last thing she needed was to go on another hunt for the babies because of the incompetence of her minions. Even though the project interested her, it was proving to be far more trouble than it was worth. If they kept on causing trouble for her, she would probably eliminate the children and use their corpses as material for her chimeras.

She was about to turn her head back, but stopped when she saw Martel running at the car. Narrowing her eyes, she turned to her chauffeur and gave him a glare. "Can't you go any faster? One of them is catching up with us! I cannot afford for them to get these children again!"

The chauffeur nodded and stepped on the gas pedal, causing their car to go flying down the street. There was quite a bit of traffic, so he had to carefully maneuver around the cars to avoid crashing. They had to go quickly, but if he crashed the car, Martel would have no problem getting to them.

Rolling the window down, Dante leaned out and clapped her hands, transmuting a gigantic pair of stone claws from the street. They charged directly at Martel and formed into fists, attempting to smash her into paste.

"Shit!" Martel hissed under her breath as the claws emerged from the ground. She leapt out of the way, just barely missing getting crushed by the stone fists. This was a waste of time! Even if she was able to avoid being killed by most of Dante's creations, it wouldn't help her. The time taken up just by dodging the attacks would give the bitch enough time to escape. "What are we supposed to do? She's going to keep trying to stop us at every turn and even if her attacks don't hit us, we still have to waste time avoiding them" the snake chimera hissed, knowing Dorochet at least would hear her. She needed some advice or assistances, and fast.

Once Dorochette had succesfully stabbed Sloth through the chest he didn't bother waiting to see if the attack had worked or not. Instead he pulled back his sword and hurried to watch up with Martel after having hear her annoyed grumbling.
"You want to stop that car right?" The ninja chimera asked as he ran past Martel, being the quickest of the chimera's. Once he got as close as he could he took something out of his pocket and threw it at the car. Next their was an annoying schriek as the chimera had threw a ninja star right in one of the back wheels of the car. The flat tire would force them to stop the car to get a new one but it wasn't as bad that the driver would lose control and crash them into pancakes.

"Thanks" Martel said, keeping her words brief. After all, the flat tire wouldn't stop them for long. So she hurried towards the now-stopped car, knife drawn. Once she was close enough, she extended her arm as far as she could. The driver had lowered his window, trying to check to see what had caused the tire to blow-out, and was sadly met by a dagger to the forehead.

The female chimera quickly took advantage of the situation and made her way towards the car, being careful to avoid the traffic as she did so.

Sloth quickly dodged the stab to her chest.
Noticing the car being pursued Sloth's liquefied legs made it quicker for her to move. She glided on the ground and with speed formed her body completely into liquid and aimed her body at Martel hoping to carry her through the water current away from the car.

"Master! Be careful!", the humunculi shouted, "Damn chimeras!"

Hearing the cry of the homunculus, Martel moved quickly to get out of the way. She just missed being hit by Sloth's watery form and once again started making her way to the car. Once there, she began using the tip of her knife as a lockpick to unlock the back door. After a moment of fiddling with the lock, she was relieved to hear the slight pop of the door unlocking. Not wanting to waste a moment, the snake chimera openned the door and quickly released Ariana and Rico from their restraints.

"There" Martel said, smiling slightly as she took her children from the car. Finally, she had her babies back. Holding the two newborns closely, she hurried back to her comrades.

Once she reached the other chimeras, Martel said, with a somewhat urgent tone, "Let's go".

"Why can't those homonculus just die." Dorochette whined miserably as Sloth flashed by, compleetly unharmed from his earlier stabbing. As Martel joined him with the twins he nodded. "Run." He agreed as he urged her on to run as quick as they could as he would run behind her to watch her back and play living chimera shield.

Nodding slightly, Martel made her way deeper into the city. They still needed to think of what they were going to do next, and being around more people would give them time. After all, she doubted Sloth would want to reveal who she really was to all of Central.

Dante moved back into the car after her attack and rolled up the window, confident that she managed to lose the pursuing chimera. With Martel out of the way and her worthless comrade busy with her minion, escaping would be simple enough. Sighing, she leaned back in the seat and closed her eyes. If those fools caused her any more trouble, she would not hesitate to eliminate them. She considered herself a patient woman, but she was not going to tolerate their insolence any longer.

She was broken from her thoughts by a sudden jerk. The car bounced on the road for a few moments before the driver pulled over to the side of the road. They must have managed to flatten one of the tires! Snarling, she looked back to see if they children were all right. They looked like they were about to cry from their rocky ride, but were still in their seats, safe and sound. She growled, realizing she had to deal with them herself. As she began undoing her seatbelt, she heard the backseat door open. Her eyes widening, she looked back again and cause a glimpse of Martel running off with her latest specimens.

"You foolish girl!" she hissed, opening her door and climbing out. "I've had enough of your nonsense!"

Clapping her hands, she transmuted numerous thin spikes from the street and sent them flying at Martel as she vanished into a crowd. She was careful to keep them from hitting the other people, who quickly dispersed when they saw her attack, screaming for their lives. Not satisfied, she clapped her hands again and began to raise walls of stone in front of her. She was not going to escape this time!

If she had the time, Martel probably would've laughed about the current situation. Trying to dodge the numerous spikes was more of a workout then the entire period she spent training for the military. But, for now, she just kept focussed on the task at hand---making sure the twins were safe, and that she didn't get any more injuries as well. So far, she was doing alright, though she nearly got stabbed in the chest by a spike, and both the babies were crying by now. However, when the series of stone walls came up, the snake-lady paused, trying to figure out what to do; trying to figure out what the crazy old bat had up her sleeve.

Dante stopped a few feet across from the chimera. She regarded her with a cold look, her lips curved into an unamused frown. This game of theirs had gone on for long enough. Clapping her hands again, she transmuted more walls around them for good measure, along with four large stone chimeras. She doubted she needed to use them, but after almost losing the children a second time, she was in no mood to take any chances.

"Martel, I'm giving you one last opportunity to hand them over. While I commend you for gettng this far, I'm afraid this is the end of the line. Either you give them to me and live another day, or I slaughter you and take them anyway. It's your choice."

She cast a quick glance over her shoulder, then looked back to Martel. "Oh, and I would keep your friend from interfering once he arrives, unless you want me to tear him to shreds."

The children started to cry louder as Dante approached, so Martel held them a little tighter, trying to soothe them. "Sorry" she said over the sound of the infants' crying. "But I can't just leave my babies and not have any idea of what's going on with them." That was true, what she just said. Dante and Nikanoru had both said what they would do to the twins, and neither seemed very trustworthy to Martel. The only way she'd be sure her children weren't being harmed was if she were with them.

"As I explained before, we'll merely be performing a few harmless tests on them. Except for their rigorous training, they'll be raised as normal children. I have the upper hand, so I have no reason to lie to you."

Dante sighed and brushed a strand of hair away from her eyes. Her stone chimeras stood beside her, their eyes fixed on Martel. One glared at her, then moved behind its master to watch for Dorochette. "Martel, you're making a fool of yourself. Whatever you chose, I'm leaving with them. Nothing is going to happen to them, so stop wasting my time and hand them over before I lose my patience."

Martel hissed slightly at the stone chimeras, the sound coming from low in her throat. "And how am I supposed to trust that you're not going to kill me or my comrades if I hand them over? Or are you just going to keep threatening their lives" she said, glancing at the babies, who were still sobbing fairly loudly, "So I won't try to get them back?" It made the most sense to her. Dante probably knew Martel wouldn't just abandon her children, so if she'd allowed the snake-chimera to live, she'd keep using Ariana and Rico as barginning chips.

After a moment of confusion Dorochette hurried to catch up with Martel again. However he found a giant stone statue blocking his path between him and Dante and Martel. "Ow come on, don't you people ever grow tired of this." He groaned as he looked at the statues wondering if he would be able to walk past them if he made no move to Dante. After all he couldn't care less about the old hag, he just wanted to keep an eye on Martel so that she wouldn't get herself and the twins killed. Slowly the dog chimera walked around the stone statue in a circle to attempt and reach Martels side again.

Having noticed Dorochet's arrival, Martel frowned slightly. "Just remember to watch out for yourself" she called to him as a warning. The dog-chimera could be too loyal for his own good. He would no doubt risk his own life in an effort to allow his friends a way out. And the last thing Martel wanted was for one of her closest friends to be killed during this rescue.
